We started out with 150 points at SSR in 2006. After a few add-on's we are at 450 points (175 of them just purchased in the last year). I said to my husband this morning, we really need to looking into more points for how much we want to go down there. He agreed.:lmao:

So do you ever feel like you have enough points? I feel like the more points I get, the more trips I want to plan and then I feel like I don't have enough! I think I have a sickness.:rotfl2:

You are definitely not alone - we never feel like we have enough points! We started out with 270 at SSR, then added another 130 at SSR, then added 200 at BLT. We would love to buy some at BWV, but have been fighting the urge so far. I'm sure that won't last forever LOL.

We originally bought in 1999 wtih 200 points and our DD was just under 3. We now have 630 pts and have borrowed every year from the next one. My DD is now 14 and this year has opted to skip vacation this Aug. in order to stay home with her aunt and try out for tennis. We also have a trip in Jan. booked and she's opting to stay home again because it'll be her first yr in high school. My middle child is DD12 and she's also staying home this Aug. to try out for volleyball - she is going in Jan. though. So, this Aug. is myself, DH, and DS9. I absolutely never thought we'd have enough pts. but actually found myself saying to DH 2 nights ago that we don't need any more pts. because as the kids start dropping off, we'll have plenty. Now when grandkids come along, all bets are off! So I think as situations change, our view on it changes. I am thrilled with the number of pts we have but am also thrilled I didn't buy more when the urge struck and have too many with dues to pay on them. We all just have to find that balance. Enjoy using what you have and get more when you think you'll need them. DVC is wonderful!

All my points are at HHI and at 420, I don't know that I have enough by a long shot.

I guess we are the exception. We purchased 300 pts 10 years ago and have gotten all the distance out of them we could possibly want. We have taken family 6 times, we have done a cruise, and we have gone about 1.5 times a year.

We bought two yrs ago and plan to add on in Feb. on the Dream but probably only 50 more points - unless I can talk DH into more LOL. Send pixie dust for me!!!!

Yes, I finally think we have enough points. For now. :lmao:

We started with 150 points at one resort and now have 655 points at 3 resorts after a few add ons. We have enough points for us to go 3 times per year to WDW- March, October and December. October is always just DH and me for F&W. March and December we often take extended family with us. The last 200 points or so were definitely bought for the purpose of taking family with us more often.

We actually have too many points right now (1150) because medical stuff keeps getting in the way of our trips. But if things turn around we hope to make good use of every point. Here's hoping!

If our resale contract goes thru, we will have 695 points, all purchased within the last year. I think we will have enough points with the addition of this last contract. We want to travel to Disney for 3 weeks per year, and with this amount of points, we should be OK. I am going to officially stop looking at the resale sites for any more contracts to purchase.

Thank you for letting me know I am not alone in this!:thumbsup2

I told DH on our last trip to AKV that when we retired (we are only 36 now) I wanted to have enough points to spend 3 months of the winter at DVC resorts. Now THAT would be a lot of points!:lovestruc

We started out with 150 at VWL in 2005 and now have 610 points in three resorts, 300 at VWL, 260 at AKV and 50 at VGC. I'm looking at a 25 point add on at VGC in year 2012. :)

We're working on accumulating enough points to spend the last two weeks of January at OKW and the first two in February at BCV, both in a 1 BR, each year when we retire. So far we are a little more than half way there and we're waiting to hear back from Disney on an offer.I'm sure once we reach that goal we'll need more points for other reasons.:confused3

We do! I love WDW, but I also love a bargain. DVC is great for WDW, and with what I would have to pay in MF if I added on 100 points, I can also do resorts via. hotwire, travel zoo, AAA, Priceline, VRBO........

I want to eventually have enough points that when I'm gone, my four kids will each have a nice allotment for their families. Right now I have enough though- we originally bought 150 at OKW in 1996 then added on 200 at AKL and last year added 100 at VGC. I have no desire to add at Aulani but if there were ever a DVC at the Poly, count me in!---Kathy

We are currently in the process of adding on a second time, so we will have a total of 500 points. DH asked me yesterday if I thought that was enough, and I answered "for now"! But looking around this thread, I'm under the average!! I'll have to share that information with him:rotfl2:!

We evaluated how many points we needed when we bought in, so I really feel like we did well with what we've done so far and have booked in the future. With that said, though, DD is only 6 so I'm sure there is going to be a point in time where we'll need to start staying in 1 bedrooms instead of studios, at which point an add-on will be necessary. But, we have trips booked and planned our through 2012, and we're good to go for those years in terms of points. :thumbsup2

I too always feel like we need more points, and we are basically just an aging couple going by ourselves most of the time. With 449 points, we have managed just fine, but do I WANT more? OF course! Do I NEED more? Probably not. I do know that what I do NOT need is more maintenance fees, so we are done buying DVC points. After nearly 14 years of ownership, we have fallen into a niche with our vacation travel.

When we bought in 2000 I thought 240 points would be enough, but 2 add ons later we are at 500 points with no plans so far of adding any more. By the way we still borrow every year. Now if Grand Floridian became DVC I would have to buy. I might sell one of my other contracts to do this though.

Do you ever have enough points? YES

We own 601. It is too many for us. We've talked about selling 300 of them many times over the past year. Now that we're closing on a beach property in less than 2 weeks. I'm VERY serious about getting rid of them when the economy improves. I actually don't have the desire to take as many trips a year as I used to and it is going to take up a lot of our time maintaining our permanent residence and a beach house at the same time. We've changed over the past few years. I still love Disney, but I've learned there are other places in the world than FL.
