Do you ebay your "dreams"??

I am just curious as I was browsing ebay tonight and came across people selling the dream ears and lanyards. I wondered if people were selling them b/c they did not like them, they won too much, or what??

I have been SOOOO tempted to buy a set of ears or a lanyard b/c we did not win either on our trip or from the cards we sent and I just love both so much. I changed my mind though (for now..lol) b/c it seems that the fun would be lost if you bought them, kwim? The excitement of being rewarded with them either in the park or by mail would be so cool and I think buying them would really take that away.. buying somebody elses dream so to speak..

Just wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts were on that? Have you sold anything from YOAMD or bought anything? If you have won more than one of either item are you thinking of selling them or keeping them?

We just returned middle of September, received no dreams, wasn't looking or expecting any, just so happy to be there but while waiting at the MK bus station, wife was talking to some passing ducks and a cast member approached us and began talking. Older cast member, nice chat and we asked her what she does, and she says she'a part of the dream team. We continue to chat and she says you have to be in the right spot, very specific when a dream is given, pre-planned and timed ahead. It's not random when they want to do it. She wished us a happy stay and we wished her luck bestowing her dreams and went on our merry way. Thought we were going to get the castle stay, yah, sure'

Same goes for pins, we collect but never wear our lanyards or trade, we even keep the toiletries as souveniors.

..lol, we keep our toiletries too. I am such a sap over stuff that I save everything from the trips down to little weird things. Well except for pins b/c we got into trading. I only trade the ones we bought as traders though. My 4 year old son was awarded 2 of the tink pins and I was so proud of him when he gave them BOTH away to little girls that loved tink. I know he made their day. Normally I keep anything that is given to us though for sentimental reasons but those were kind of meant for giving..one of them anyways..haha

The dream team members are really nice. We chatted with many of them through out the trip. They always would stop just to say hi. Anything to make your day which is awesome IMO!

I wouldnt sell a dream, but I have bought a couple from Ebay. I bought dreams ears and a unused dream fastpass. We were over in the World a month ago and didnt win anything, 14 days and nothing!!, we didnt even see the dream team once. But to be honest, I didnt look for them and totally forgot about the dreams whilst in the park. We had the best time, our dream was just being there.

Once we returned I wished we had a dream, just for the souvenier. So I bought the ears and fastpass, just to put in our keepsake box. Kinda like a "heres what you couldve won" gameshow type of thing So that in time to come we can look back and remember our year of a million dreams trip.

I'm another one who never won a dream so I bought ears and pins from Ebay sellers. Didn't know there was still a chance to win them in 2008 at the time. Guess you can never have too many if we do when some in March.

I've seen 'em on Ebay but never bought 'em because I'm the sort who likes to have personal meaning behind something. I like to be able to look at my souvenirs and remember some special meaning behind them. For example, one of my favorite items isn't actually from the parks, but from a Disney cruise. Don "Ducky" Williams was doing a talk, and he draws sketches beforehand which are raffled off to the attendees. We got there early, and he was asking the audience which characters to draw. I yelled, "Figment!" and he said it had been a long time so he wasn't sure of the specs. I happened to be wearing a shirt with the Figment model sheet on it! He drew Figment, and I was hoping against hope that I would win that sketch. Unfortunately, I didn't and the kid who did was totally disgruntled because he didn't know the character. I couldn't believe that anyone could be so ungrateful...it was something that would have meant the world to me, but he was just pissed that he didn't win Mickey.

Don kindly told me he would be by the adult pool later and would do a sketch for me. When I went up there, I felt awful to disturb him because he looked so relaxed sunbathing. But I wanted Figment soooo badly! It was a windy day; DH had scavenged paper and a pencil from Guest Services,and I'll never forget Don hunched over the bar, making that drawing in the wind on that upper deck! That picture is now framed and hanging in my foyer; I have many other Figment items that I purchased, too, but that one has the most meaning for me...much more than anything I could ever buy on Ebay or anywhere else. Those are the kinds of souvenirs and little dreams granted that mean the most.

I wouldn't buy, but I might sell. Only because I have too much junk around here already! If it's something I collect--Disney waterglobes or Tinkerbelle stuff--I'd keep it. If not, it goes (or maybe stays in Florida).

It seems that we Americans are too much focused on the dollar and not on the thought and more importantly, the dreams. NEVER would I ever sell for the green backs, our fun! My way. I have worked hard all my life - Disney world and it's happenings/rewards are too special. Enjoy your family and time while you have it!

It the UK, they are really quite cheap. I think I paid around £3 each for my hat and fastpass plus shipping of anothe couple of £. So, probably around $10 all in. Not a lot of people know what they are. Ours were actually bought as a bit of a joke really, as we are the most unlucky family ever. We never win anything. Although I suppose we are very lucky to have been to Florida twice in the last couple of years.

I actually have got the bug and collect things from WDW, it is sorta my Ebay hobby. At the moment I have my eye on the black with silver four parks logo tee, that is still in the parks at the moment. I failed to buy it, had already bought lots of Tees and couldnt justify it. Looks like I should get it for a £1 + shipping, which is around $28 dollars that I wouldve paid. Things from the parks go quite cheaply in the UK, before I left I bought a pal mickey with all four sets of clothes for around the $50 mark. I def wont sell him tho I love him two much.

Heh heh, guess I've sold my soul to the devil, pepe! I've sold 5 sets of ears and 2 lanyard/pins. If ears and pins were truly my dream, I wouldn't have sold them, obviously. I'm not a collector, I don't have room for more stuff lying around. My dream was to win one of the big prizes, and since the little ones were unappreciated around here, I offered them up on eBay to people who would appreciate and love them. Recouped some of my postage for entering that way.

Thanks! Is it that obvious that he's an Appy, LOL?! They are definitely not stealth horses! They are my favorite breed...I have a 30 year old Appaloosa too, but he's retired now (have owned him for 26 years). Compared to him, Figment is a regular spring chicken at age 9.
