Do you drink alcohol in WDW?

My hubby, for some unknown reason, are discussing drinking in Walt Disney World. I have been known to put back some beers, but for some reason in Disney, I barely drink. Last trip I drank a little bit more often...margaritas were too good lol....just wondering what other parents do in WDW?

We usually drink when we are relaxing at the resort.

We bring alcohol with us, so it's much cheaper to drink our own at the resort than pay the ridiculous prices of drinks, but it's also usually super hot and we are running around and riding attractions so we never really feel like having a drink in the parks.

We have walked over to the Boardwalk or sat down to take a break somewhere in Epcot with a drink a few times, but during a regular park day we don't feel any need/desire to drink.

DH and I drink regularly at home and see nothing wrong with having one drink in front of our children, so vacation wouldn't be any different. There have been threads about alcohol before and some seem to find this absolutely appalling. Sure, getting drunk and acting like an idiot would be completely inappropriate, but my kids can handle seeing their parents relax while sharing a drink containing alcohol.

I don't see any reason not to drink wile in Disney. My DH and I will usually have a drink or 2 with lunch or dinner and maybe a drink or 2 while walking around epcot. It is normal in our house to have wine with dinner and our DD has grown up seeing it as normal. We do not get drunk and show that responsible drinking is okay in moderation.

There are so many good drinks at Disney, we love to sample different beers and wines and margaritas. Yum!! It's the only time we really drink outside of our house together, because we don't visit bars and if we go to a restaurant at home, only one of us will drink because we always have a designated driver.

Love walking around WS while sipping on a nice drink. We don't get drunk or anything...usually just 1-2 drinks, like we would do at home on a weekend. :goodvibes

Our kids don't think anything of it. They know what alcohol is, and that they can't have it....and they say "it's good that there are buses, because you can't drink and drive". Smart girls. :thumbsup2

I drink a little. Maybe a wine flight and a margarita. Drinking and getting really buzzed especially while walking around in the hot sun isn't the best idea. Plus to be hungover is NOT an option. I've got too much to enjoy!!!

:thumbsup2 I'm with Mousemommy1 We have a couple of drinks with dinner like a weekend dinner at home. It's part of "vacation mode" :goodvibes

I sampled some sake at Epcot on our first day but that is the only drinking I did during our trip. I likely would have sampled some more drinks at Epcot on our second day there but by that point I was 'late' ;) and couldn't find a pregnancy test on Disney property to rule out that possibility so I refrained. I'm sure in the future I will sample, but I'm a lightweight and for all the other reasons listed (who wants a hangover in Disney?!) I wouldn't drink much more than that.
My husband bought one of those super expensive 6 packs from the resort gift shop our first night and we ended up leaving 4 of them in the fridge when we left because he only ended up drinking 2 cans. There just wasn't time to sit around with a beer ;)

I'm not a big drinker outside of Disney.
I only have the occasional drink and only have numerous drinks at a time maybe 3 times per year.

when I go to Disney I generally don't desire alcohol at all.

I have had a drink here and there but most trips I don't have any.

I'm planning a solo trip for april and I do plan on having a drink while at epcot and maybe one by the pool at my hotel but that's the extent of my potential alcohol consumption.

most trips I'm on the go from early morning to late at night and just don't feel like a drink.
since I'm going solo i'll be a bit more leisurely and I plan to do some people watching around the world showcase so relaxing with a drink seems like a good idea lol.

I am planning on getting a drink each day. I really want to try out all the different margaritas(my go to drink) so I am super excited. We are not big drinkers, but will have one on the weekends at dinner. My oldest knows that there needs to be a DD if we are out to dinner, so she sees us drink responsibly. My husband is excited to try out different beers in Epcot.

We do - usually my husband and I will split a bottle of wine at dinner if it's just adults and my mom or sister is babysitting. Last trip we had 5 adults and so sometimes got a bottle to share at lunch too! It just felt appropriate at HBD.

I drink less at Disney but only because of cost. I have a couple, typically if we have a long wait at a restaurant or in the WS. I have no issue with my kids seeing responsible consumption.

We're not big drinkers to begin with (maybe 3 times a year we have 1-2 drinks.) but even if we were I wouldn't drink on vacation. I want to remember every single detail <3 (I should specify that since we don't drink we are lightweights and thus 1 drink would make us tipsy, LOL.)

It is vacation!

I drink every day at Disney! It's one reason that we always leave the MK for the evening (even if we return later), since no booze there (except BOG which doesn't appeal to me).

I see no issue with it. It's vacation. Time to relax and let others cook our food, provide wonderful entertainment, and we can enjoy it and be grateful!

YES!!!!!!!! Typically I will get a bloody mary with breakfast (and, it seems Floridians have no clue what a beer back is, since I get blank looks everytime I ask for one...), and then we drink at any sit down meal (usually a few beers or I really enjoy the habenero margaritas), and then a few times during the trip DH and I have the kids go to kids clubs and we visit the bar/lounge at that resort. Snacks + drinks. Have met some fantastic people that way - bartenders, other resort guests. Love it!

We will enjoy a beer while the kids swim at the pool, always the best tasting beer ever!
