Do you do the Disney Pins?

I collect Disney pins, but I am not a die hard collector. I only buy the ones I like! :)

my husband and I trade them at the parks. We just do the ones we like and the ones from attractions , resorts etc....

I collect the pins that I like.

My little ones buy them as souveneirs. They don't quite get the whole collection thing yet. But once they do they will be cllectors.

I LOVE collecting pins....I buy some on ebay, mostly in groups of 6-7 pins, get them for cheap....than trade them for the ones I REALLY like at WDW....Of course I buy new ones also...mostly the ones with a specific writing on them(attraction, park, hotel etc.)

My family collects pins. I myself have a donald duck and tink collection my little brother has a monerial and my mom the resorts. I too am not a die hard collector but they're fun to have a trade w/ cast members :D

We bought our then 4 yo DD a lanyard, and brought some pins that we bought off Ebay, she ended up getting a lot of the princess's, which she really liked. We also bought her one pin from each of the countries in Epcot.
I don't know if she will be as interested this time.

One note, invest in the Mickey backs. The brass ones just don't stay on that well.

My DH and I are very big pin collectors. We love it, and we have tons of pins to show for it. We do a little trading but not alot. Mainly because we just can't give them up we like them so much. We only collect limited edition pins.

No. It seems "everybody" is collecting/trading them. Too, there are just so many that it's "overwhelming" and potentially too $$$ for me. If I ever do collect some, I will decide on a limited theme from the get-go and then stick to it.

I see people spending tons of time at the parks trading pins & think they are spending so much time staring at a person's chest & about all the wonderful sights & sounds they're missing --if they'd just look up.

I understand why people don't get it. I really didn't either and we by no means are very into it but..... we saw this one girl who was about 12 who was from England. She found a pin she had been looking for that a cast member had and she was so happy!!! We started talking to her since we were sitting next to her and her family and they started telling us how she got into it and how good it has been for her. She was having so much fun that we could not help but be happy for her.
I think that is what it is all about. No matter what hobby a person has it is worth it if it makes them happy.
My husband got into it a little bit since we were given some pins to trade by a family member (who is a cast member) He had fun with it which I was surprised about. And believe me, we didn't miss out on anything at Disney it just added to the fun. And we got some free souvenirs. :D

Yep, primarily the TinkerBell ones... who would've guessed? I have 48 pins so far, I started in December 2003!

um... I maybe get one or two that are cute but 5 bucks for a pin is a bit out of my range

collect mostly Sleeping Beauty, Tinkerbell and Chesire pins. Did some trading at the parks on my last visit, had bought pins on close out at the Disney store and traded with cast for newer ones.

My wife likes to collect them but doesn't like to trade them. She likes them all so much. She sees one that she wants from another person's lanyard she asks them where they got it from!

My DS and DD started collecting on our last trip. It was very cute, my DS is shy, so at first he would just glance sideways at a CM. This went on for a while. One CM caught him looking and came over to him. It took him a while to actually trade (he is very picky about what he likes!). He probably traded a total of about 5, but had a ball doing it! I also liked bringing home the pins as souveniers rather that some plastic toy. The kids have them posted to a cork board in their rooms. We also used the pins as bribery. My DS was leary about rides, but when we told him we would buy him a pin for each ride, he actually went on a few!

My family loves the pins, but we usually get the ones we like only.Alot of them are limited or cast member exclusives and have Donald involved in them.
