Do you do the Disney Pins?

I love my pins! I buy, trade, pick up on Ebay, get from Disney Auctions, and some from the website. I really enjoy talking to other people when trading and seeing others' collections. And it's so much fun to find a unique pin! :flower:

We don't trade them. This year on our honeymoon, my new DH and i decided to buy one at every WDW location we went to to remind us of our special times. Instead of buying a lanyard, DH fastened them to his video bag strap with some of those lockable pin backs that you can buy. When we got home, we covered some polysyrene board with black velvet and stuck the pins in it, we have just taken it to be framed with a nice silver coloured frame, it seemed a shame to keep all those wonderful memories locked away in a drawer.

Oh YEA!!! :Pinkbounc Big pin collector :Pinkbounc -dont see how you couldnt love em...better than buyig plastic toys that will lay broken ad forgotten about a week

My son collects them, but he's very shy and doesn't really want to experience the trading aspect of the pins just yet.:)

I have over 300-400 pins. I used to go crazy for them, now I only purchase the limited editions or the ones I absolutely gotta have.

I wish I thought of this concept! ;)

I collect a lot and trade quite a few. I have just recently started trading on Pin Pics. My 13 year old daughter and I started collecting and trading a little over a year ago. However, she has decided to give up trading and start spending the money on scrapbooking. We will see how long that lasts when we head for WDW in Dec. (lol). Debby

Collecting Disney pins...It's a family hobby at our house!! It all started in October 1999 when we were at the Disney Store with DS in Pennsylvania. He saw those millenium pins and loved them. A CM at the store told him he could trade them at Disney. Since we were going to WDW in a few days, we bought some pins! That's what started it all! In 2003, DS started myself and DH collecting. Now it's a family hobby. We love the pins! The greatest benefit the pins have brought us, is the friendships that we've made trading pins. We have met and traded pins with people from all over the world. This summer we're even going to spend a vacation together with 2 other "pin families".

The kids trade every chance they get. When we are not in WDW, we go to a local store that does trading once a month. For them it's better than the rides.

Our next trip will be our first experience as traders. I have been snatching up a few here and there on sale for the kids to start out with :)

I collect Disney pins, but I am not a die hard collector. I only buy the ones I like! :)

I'm with you, not a die hard collector, but I love meeting people at the parks and trading with them, although it is a very $$$ hobby

DF started on our trip last year and ended up with 2 lanyards full!! It is an expensive hobby (we bought most of the one's she has) we did however get some really cool pins from CM's. We had a blast doing it and look forward to it again this trip. I guess I have myself to blame, I bought her 1st pin which was mickey proposing to minnie, right after I popped the question. We saw it right after (pixie dust made me see it I think) no one to blame but me for this!! :rotfl:

YEP!!! I'm addicted to it!!! Just started last year... and it has added something new to look forward to for our next trip!

My DD collects pins and we got some from E-bay. A very kind DISer also sent us some lovely DVC pins as I had mentioned on the boards that my DD had lost her tinkerbell pin.

I collect princess pens, but I don't trade them. I decorate my backpack with them so that others can view them while I am waiting in line! princess:
