Do you do Christmas Roasts?

Growing up my family did turkey and a ham. We go to DH's brother's now. His wife does a filet roast. She also used to do a ham when the group was larger.
If it was just DH & I , I'd cook a beef roast

We do a turkey for Thanksgiving, so we go in the opposite direction and have homemade lasagna for Christmas dinner.

The past several years, we've done different things. For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it's just myself, my husband, our son, and my parents. This year we're just doing chicken on Christmas Eve. And my mom is doing vegetable beef soup on Christmas. Not very traditional but we like it that way.

beef roast for french dip sandwiches christmas eve. honey baked ham christmas day. lots of leftovers for future meals.

We are having a NY Strip Roast for Christmas Eve since we like it better than Prime Rib or Tenderloin and a Spiral ham for Christmas Day. I actually think roasts are the easiest thing to make. Just season and cook…pretty hands off and always great for a crowd.

I gave up doing a big meal on Christmas Day years ago. I suddenly realized that while everyone else was playing with their new toys, reading their new books, and watching football, I was on my feet in the kitchen, cooking and doing dishes all day. We swapped over to easy meals so I could have a holiday, too. Several times recently, it's been stuffed shells, with all components purchased at Sam's. DD loves to cook so for the past few years (since they moved in with us) we've had more-elaborate meals; this year it's braised short ribs. She makes divine short ribs, and I'll happily peel potatoes for mashed potatoes; gotta have mashies for all her delicious veggie infused, wine infused gravy that she uses for braising the ribs!

No roasts here. Growing up, it was always steaks on the grill no matter the weather. Now we usually go to my husband's. parents' house and they do barbecue beef sandwiches. This year, Christmas with my husband's family has been pushed to December 26, so we'll be home... and I'm making spaghetti and meatballs (because everyone likes it, and it's easy).
