Do you call your credit card company when traveling (within the US)

I last went to WDW last April and i don't recall that i contacted my CC company to inform them that i was traveling. And I did not encounter any issues. I am wondering if it is necessary? If so do you call to inform them of where you are going?

I call Visa for out-of-state and out-of-country to make sure I don't get blocked while we're on vacation. They put a note on my account for the month during which we'll travel. I've tried calling American Express a couple of times, but they've said it's not necessary.

I have a few different credit cards that I could use though, so I highly doubt that they would all be declined.
I had a problem I hadn't anticipated once. My DH and I each have our own Chase Disney Visa account, and I have a Hyatt Visa (also Chase). We once were traveling in a way that didn't fit Chase's algorithm, apparently, because all three of the cards were denied.

Oh no! That's terrible, thankfully my cards are very diversified so I don't think that is likely to happen. My husband also called Amex before he was going on an international trip and they said there was no need, so I feel pretty confident in my Amex having it covered as well.

I ended up calling both CC that i plan on using as well as my debit card in case we need more cash. It was simple, only took a matter of less than 10 minutes to call all 3. Hopefully will eliminate any issues.

We are from MA and will be going to WDW. i figure it can't hurt to call as i have been hit with fraudulent charges in the past and having my card turned off while im away might cause a little headache.
I do. Better safe than sorry.

we run $80k a year through our AMEX card. They are the best at detecting fraud. Caught a couple of charges last week. Never have to call them and let them know we are traveling.

I do now! My Disney Visa was denied, at Disney. I call before I travel.

I don't if i'm using my airline credit card.

But if I use Chase I do - I've run into an issue before when the card was declined because they thought it was fraud. So now I call, let them know what state I'll be in and the dates. Haven't had a problem since.

Ridiculous- I got a Discover’Miles’ card a few years ago specifically because of the Travel benefits and they also denied a charge out of state. I use Amex and Citibank no problem as well as my TDBank debit card no problems.

I don’t want to notify people of my travel beforehand- it’s an open invitation for people to rob you. My hubby usually carries cash and a lock for his suitcase in case there isn’t a safe.

I was at DL last year and used Uber a couple of times. The third time, it was declined. I ended up using Lyft with a different credit card but then got a text to confirm the Uber was legit.

I do call my bank. We drive, so I had to provide a list of every state we were driving through where I might use my debit card.
