Hooray for Montreal!!!!OK everyone, there's only one Canadian team left. There's lots of room left on the band wagon. We even welcome Leaf fans on board.
We still have that 25% Canadian Content for the next round! Go Team Canada!

No thank you because I know if the roles were reversed the Canadiens fans would not want the Leafs to win.

Well I based that answer on things I have read on various Hockey message boards like HFBoards and etc.Not true....not good to generalize.........................
NO matter what team in Canada wins, the die-hard fans of another Canadian market will be critical. Not necessarily all fans, but there are a few sour apples in every market.I also find it to be hypocritical that in the past in the past when Leafs won in the 1st or 2nd rounds fans of other NHL teams across Canada would say it's dumb for Leafs fans to be celebrating down the streets of Toronto. Well Montreal fans are doing the exact same thing, so how is that any different?
I found it to be more funny that the Montreal police would say the people who were doing the vandalism and etc were not Canadiens fans, even though picutres I saw online were of those people wearing Canadiens jerseys and etc that were doing the vandalism. So it's almost like the Montreal police don't want to associate their fans with those type of people which I can understand, but the pictures don't lie.NO matter what team in Canada wins, the die-hard fans of another Canadian market will be critical. What I find disgusting is the vandalism that follows the win by those who are 'opportunists' and go for the smash and grab, pretending to be Habs/Home team fans. I hope that the police are better prepared to take these guys on when the Canadiens move on to the finals.

-I am totally disgusted with the behaviour of a minority of people.
The ones that did the vandalizing had planned it - they work scarves over their faces. Very easy to wear a Canadians shirt to blend in with the crowd.
Apparently 30 + people were arrested.... Hope they catch them all!
There is a difference between what you described compared to hundreds or more people wearing Canadiens jerseys and causing vandalism. It's also not the first time that happened in Montreal because remember that also happened after they beat Boston in the 1st round back in 2008, so it's not like this was first time their fans have caused riots and vandalism.Don't believe that this arguement holds water. What better way to fit in than to wear a Habs jersey whether you were at the game or not. It's not like the jerks causing all the trouble are going to show up dressed all in black with hoods covering their faces.
If I wear a Leafs jersey (as if) and break into a store near the ACC, does that automatically mean that Leafs fans are to blame?

Agreed. There were people there who were opportunists. Don some Habs jerseys, meld in with the crowd of revelers, then start the smash & grab. I have other words for those who did that, but I'd likely be banned from this board. They weren't all vandals. The vast majority of people were celebrating the fantastic win by the Habs.
