Do you buy into supporting the other Canadian teams in the NHL playoffs?

Here's the run down of Canadian players on the remaining teams:

Chicago 20
Philadelphia 18
Vancouver 17
Washington 17
Pittsburgh 16
San Jose 15
Montreal 14
Boston 12
Detroit 11

My cheering order is as follows:

1) Sens - that's right, I was All In, All Red until Saturday night
2) Canadian teams (including the Leafs...but luckily haven't had to worry about cheering for them in the playoffs for years!! How long ago was 1967 again??)
3) Original Six (seriously, like anyone in Tampa Bay gives a flying ... about hockey)
4) Teams with good old Canadian talent.
5) Any team that can wipe that cocky smile off Ovechkin's face is fine with me!! GO HABS GO!!!!!

Honestly, at the end of the day I'm looking to be entertained by a hockey game. If the teams are playing poor/boring hockey (as the Sens have been known to do, even I will admit that), I'm not happy.

Come on now, there are plenty of Snowbirds that spend the winter in the Tampa area that love hockey. Why do you think there is a team there? :goodvibes

I went to see the Leafs play the Lightning in Tampa back in December 2007 and I would say there had to be 1000 or more Leafs fans over there, so it was almost like a home game.

And he played for Team USA at the Olympics in Vancouver, plus everyone remembers Crosby scoring the Gold medal winning goal on him in overtime.

Everyone remebers this, but I will never forget who assisted!!!

As a true Calgary fan, we can never cheer for Edmonton.... EVER!!!! as for other teams, we will depends on who. Toronto is not a favorite in the house.

Habs win!!!!!

On to the Igloo on Fri with Sidney..

Great series with the Caps. Bruce's job may be on the line with losses to the Pens last year and the Habs this year a a 8th seed.

Go Habs Go!!!!

I could barely breathe for the last couple of minutes. WoW!

All I can say is I don't need to think about who I am cheering for until the next round.

Habs and Penguins next baby!
The Wings are on tonight!:cool1:
Sadly, we have no cable/satellite :( (Easier to save for next Disney Trips) so we're picking up only CBC. That being said, the 2 series that CBC is carrying are the 2 Canadian teams remaining. Would have been nice to watch the Detroit series as I went to Windsor U many years ago and created a fondness there too.
So far, Canadian percentage for the playoffs:
Round 1 = 3/16 = 18.8%
Round 2 = 2/8 = 25%
Lets hope it keeps on going to 100%!

U of Windsor Grad here also!:thumbsup2

I guess I am a bad Canadian too ... once my team is out (the Red Wings), I don't care who wins. Although, I guess since my DH is such a big fan of Sidney Crosby (and since they beat the Wings for the Cup last year), I always cheer against the Pens :lmao:

Once the Leafs are out, I mostly lose interest. However, I still would ALWAYS prefer to see Stanley remain in Canada, so yes, I do cheer for the Canadian teams as long as there's one in the running.

When Vancouver is it, I'm out.

But when they're in?:banana:peanut butter jelly time...:banana:

So you stop watching in early October??:lmao:

OK everyone, there's only one Canadian team left. There's lots of room left on the band wagon. We even welcome Leaf fans on board.

I actually can't believe they've beat the Pens and Caps. They are playing incredible hockey. And Halak has been outstanding.

No thank you because I know if the roles were reversed the Canadiens fans would not want the Leafs to win.

I tossed and turned all last night with the knowledge that the Montreal's made it to the next round. Makes me sick to my stomach. Any US team can have the Stanley Cup this year if it means keeping it from Montreal hands. Will never support a Montreal hockey team, ever.
