Do we really need Tide Pod donuts?

Obviously not - but I'm not surprised that someone took advantage of the trending news and marketed this.

Anything for people to make money on, and let them think the pods are ok. I wish they would do away with the pods.

I just made this comment to my husband the other day. I think it's in very poor taste that businesses are trying to profit from this type of dangerous behavior. This basically rationalizes it. There is also a bar that has made a "Tide Pod Cocktail." Just stop. No one should be giving this trend any positive attention.

I mean... It’s just as ridiculous as actually eating Tide Pods for internet views. The only people who get a pass for this kind of thing are the small children who honestly don’t know any better.

Very poor taste imo....also, the idea of eating anything themed after a Tide Pod truly turns my stomach. I'm not that far removed from being a teenager to be honest and the idea that anyone has eaten a Tide pod is really horrifying.

"Don't ya put it in your mouth (don't ya put it in your mouth)
Don't ya stuff it in your face (don't ya stuff it in your face)
Though it might look good to eat (though it might look good to eat)
And it might look good to taste (and it might look good to taste)
You could get sick (ick)
Real quick (ick)
Real sick, real ick
Don't put it in your mouth (uh uh)
Till you ask someone you love (that's right, sis)
If it's ok to eat (if it's ok to eat)
Like a muffin or a beet (like a muffin or a beet)
If you don't know just what it is
Remember boys and girls, DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH.
ICK!!!"

I tried them. They didn't fit well in the little detergent thing, and they left my glasses spotty and my plates with some kind of greasy film.

I hope they don't. I love the pods. Makes laundry much easier. What's the downside, aside from people not adequately supervising their kids (which is a parent problem, not a laundry detergent problem).

I can totally see people NOT buying pods if they don't want pods (there are at least two other viable means of delivering laundry detergent to your clothes...liquid and powder). But, for a segment of the public, they work awesome.

Sure, why not?

The more I think about this, this is kind of how I feel. Personally I think it is pretty stupid, but if people want to spend their money on some stupid trend then why shouldn't there be somebody out there cashing in on it.
Besides, there are a ton of edibles that are based on things we shouldn't eat. I used to eat candy cigarettes when I was a kid, the best ones were the gun ones where you could blow the "smoke" out.

I think it is hilarious, especially coming from a place called "Wake & Bake" and "Hurts Donut". Bad jokes are clearly part of their business model.

The so-called Tide Pod Challenge has been SO overblown by the media because it makes good clickbait that I think it deserves a bit of poking fun at.

Yep. They're *fabulous* for travel - toss a couple in your 3-1-1 bag and they're even carry-on friendly, and save having to buy it when you arrive. And they've been great for 'portioning' detergent when my kids do their own laundry because otherwise they tend to use too much.

I kinda agree and thought the advertising of "this is food" and "this is not food" was a funny social commentary. I don't want Tide Donuts or anything else, but these establishments are making fun of people dumb enough to eat detergent...another how did we get her moment in time.

Oh heck yeah on the travel utility thing. I through a few in every single time I travel (double bagged, just in case they break). Sure beats buying a bottle/box of detergent that is about 20x bigger than you need.

I have no problem with pods at all!!!
Dont' use them... but would.
Why do they have to look like some kind of bright colored kool-aid candy.
That is the kicker.

Wake n Bake is so good, and hey, a shop from my home town made the national news! Seriously, they joke around with their donuts there and I don't think it's an issue at all. They've had some interesting donuts when Willie Nelson came to town, and they brought it back around when Nelly was supposed to come here (it was funny because Nelly was arrested on drug charges the first time he played a concert here).

Why is it that only Tide Pods seem to be a threat to society? What about the dishwasher pods from Cascade? I only use Tide Pods when I travel; I found the package next to impossible to get open.
