Do we need to start booking 2021 park days now

we had 2020 tickets for us, and now have to buy a 2021 ticket for our daughter who will be 3 when we go (sept 21). The Child ticket is due in the post today. According to Florida Tix, the 2020 tickets are refundable, the 2021 ticket is not clear yet!

We're in the same boat, we're in process of buying a resale, so can't book at home resort till october. Planning on sticking 14 days of park reservations in on Sunday!

so you're buying your tickets even before you book your rooms?
or did i misunderstand

We have two 2020 Adult tickets that were for December 2020 (and upgraded to AP). Disney have extended the expiry out to 30 Sept 2021

We have bought one Child 2021 ticket, which arrives today so we can book ticket only park reservations in September 2021.

As we'll be DVC, 11 months will be October, so we are using two existing, and one new ticket to try and secure reservations.

that makes sense.
We book in august for July 2021.
we have two home resorts - SSR and BLT.
are you going for longer than 14 days?
i've heard that with the AP, you can only book park entrances for 14 days.
We're going for 21, so i'm wondering if this is true.

we'll use 3 years of points, assuming we manage to get the reservations.
now that borrowing is restricted, it might be a bit tighter.
We need to book 3 rooms for 3 weeks. We'd calculated the number of points we need for that by banking and borrowing.
With the 50% borrowing restriction, we might have to change things up a bit.

We're doing 14 nights, but wouldn't go to a park on arrival day. So that restriction won't affect us.

Currently buying into SSR :) Planning on a week SSR and one week Poly if all goes well. Thankfully our use year is Sept, so we'll have 2020 use year and 2021 use year.

Question, as I'd be booking into our next use year, do I need to bank them if I book before the banking deadline?

DVC question.....it's like high math or quantum physics....

to be safe, you should ask this on the DVC board, as i'm rather new to the fun...

I've borrowed while making reservations, but i've never banked while making a reservation.

i've banked points, but not while reserving a room.

I assume you can do it as you're booking, but if you're going to be using all of your 2020 points on that 2021 trip, then probably you should bank before you start the reservation.

but i'm pretty sure that the system will ask you if you want to bank points for a reservation that you're making.

Ask on the DVC board.

Keep in mind that once points are banked, they can't go back to their original year.
So you need to be sure that you're using them in 2021.

That all makes sense, it's good fun isnt it!!

I've kind of tried to give my self a bit of a disney detox - as I was getting way to upset now i have cancelled for september 2020. Realistically i am not going to be able to book 2021 until at least January. I just can't justify losing yet another deposit on this.

I know it is difficult to say - but if we go for September 2021 - whats the story? Do we need to book now, If we book our dates in January will it be too late? Can I get deals added later and keep our dates?

i've heard that with the AP, you can only book park entrances for 14 days.

Just to clarify APs have been told they can only book 3 days park entrance without a hotel reservation according to the rules released (I haven't tried mind). You can also only book 7 days Fast Passes with an AP (great fun when you have 1 AP and 4 x 14 day tickets lol

If you have an AP and a hotel booking then you can book for however many days you have the hotel for

So park reservations are open for 2021 now yes but I am just hoping that there is still availability by the time we go to book or that they decide to cancel the reservation system by then. I find this whole being able to book all time up til next year so weird as it should have been like FPs and dining where its a set number of days before to allow people more time to decide what to do. I don't think any of us know how busy the reservation system is going to be by next year. Yes some dates in July are showing fully booked but that's because the park is just opening and people are rushing to book but by next September who knows.

And deal wise usually you can't add them at a later date or if you can you have to pay fees as its classed either as cancelling one booking and rebooking or a change in the booking. I personally wouldn't rush to book now if you aren't comfortable with it or think there might be a deal later as I really do think that things will at least have settled down and be clearer in a few months in terms of the booking system. Also I would be surprised if there are as many deals next year as previous years just based on everything going on. For example I really doubt free dining will be back by then possibly room discounts but it will all depend on how they have dealt with relaxing the restrictions and whether they need more people in the hotels.

I agree Free Dining is not going to happen. I don’t think the dining plan will be back before Sep21 whatever happen with Covid1. Room discounts will IMHO happen, if Covid19 improves and park capacity increases they will need the attract people.

I don’t actually think the availability for next year park pass wise will run out quickly. Busier times like Easter maybe, but not summer, until maybe end if the year.
