Yes it seems people think things are bigger then they really are and make a big deal about the little things. That's all easy for us to say though since we aren't the hurt ones who are offended.

Hmmmm. Are you suggesting that some people post to intentionally offend others? Now, why would someone want to do that? That just seems downright rude to me. Just sounds like someone wanting to start a fight.

I don't believe I used the word 'post,' but I guess my opinion could apply to message boards as well.

Am I "suggesting"--no. I guess I'm saying outright that some people say things (IRL as well as MBs, I suppose) to purposefully hurt or offend others. I used to weigh 235 pounds. Was I an object of purposeful, hurtful comments? Absolutely. Now that I weigh 110 pounds less, I have also found that some of what I perceived to be prejudice towards me because of my weight was just that--my perception.

That kind of dichotomy is what I am speaking about.

No problem. I can see where my original post could be seen as misleading in a pot-stirring kind of way.

I have a pretty thick skin and don't get offended too easily.

I think some people are more sensitive though, and do get offended more easily.

I also think that people do somewhat "look" for "issues".

I think some people pick apart a situation or what somebody said or did, to death. I think some people have too much time on their hands, not just here, but there, here, everywhere.Work, school, blah, blah...
