Do they still line you up early for Toy Story Mania?

We are going next week and I was wondering if there is still a line before the park opens. If so, what time should I get there? Thanks so much for your help!

We waited at the front gates at 9:15. Gate opened up at 9:30 and then you lined up near GRR for TSM. They lead you down in an orderly fashion to the ride just before 10:00am. We got to be the second family in line when we went. It was great. :cool1:

We were there last week (1/2) and went to line up early and they didn't have the line! We even asked a CM at the rope and she said "no line today". We had done the line in our two previous trips (Aug and Nov) so we knew were to go, back by GRR.
I don't know if they didn't do it just for that day - or if they stopped doing it all together. :confused3
Let me tell you - people ran to the TSM! It was not safe at all - especially since there was a light rain and the ground was slick!

Wow, I wonder if anyone else who has went since then experienced the same thing. Did you just wait in Sunshine Plaza until they dropped the rope?

We waited at the rope by Grizzly River Rapids. I also am curious if this was a one-day thing or if they have done away with the early line up!

I'm thinking they've done away with it. Toy Story Midway Mania had a huge giant line the first day and then had it rapidly shirnk down. I haven't even seen them use their extended queue in a while (which is sad when you consider they specifically built structures to house it, lol), and the last time I went it only had a 30 minute wait around noon.

Unlike the other Attractions opened recently at the DLR (Nemo, Sleeping Beauty Walkthrough, Pixie Hollow) it's a high capacity Attraction, so it can eat up a line fairly quickly.

That being said, they do reserve the right to bring back the TSMM queue at Park Opening, and I could see them doing so once we hit the Spring Break season, followed by Summer.

The same thing happened to us when we went the weekend before Thanksgiving. I felt like a fool because I had told several other people about the line over by GRR! By the time we ran from GRR over to TSM the line was already 60 minutes long!

There's just 2 of us who usually go--my niece and I--and we usually go in the single rider line. You only have to wait about 20 minutes or so and we go so often we don't care about riding with strangers.

we were at DCA on NYE - supposedly the busiest day of the year - and we rode Toy Story Mania twice. We got to the park at 9:30, rode Soarin (5 minute wait) and then got Soarin' fast passes for later then we went to Toy Story Mania and waited about 15 - 20 minutes (around 10:00). Later that day, we went back to Toy Story as the Pixar Parade was ending. Again we waitied about 15 minutes. It was definitely our favorite ride!

We went last weekend in Oct. and they had the special line. We went Thanksgiving weekend, and no line. The CM at TSM told me that they only do the line when it is expected to be really crowded. So I guess end of Oct. was worse than TG... it did seem to be as the line in Oct. stretched out across the pathway, and it did not at TG.

On New Years Day we went over first thing and found out it was closed due to technical issues. Later it was open and about a 90 min wait. The next day we missed the opening and it was still about 90 min around 10:30 and stayed that way all day. I did notice they were not using that line on the other side of the path. Instead it just kept going back along the path where I think there were construction walls up. Maybe they don't go across the path since there is nothing for the line to block right now. We never did get on this trip.
