Do or Not Do: Mickey Not-So-Scary

We are going to our first MNSSHP on 10/22. We will be taking our 2 boys (7 and 4)to their first party. We have been to MVMCP twice and are looking forward to this event. One of the only reasons we are going is because it is the day after we arrive not the day of. We will leave our house the day before at approx. 4:30 A.M. to catch our flight and I don't think I would do the party if we had to do it the same day. That being said you obviously know your kids best and can figure how exhausted or not they will be that day. We have already planned to be back in the room by early afternoon so the kids can rest up. Fortunately, we are staying at BLT and can just walk over to the park.

Either way it is a win, because you will be at WDW!:cool1:

That is a tough decision, because I always make sure we (the kids especially) are well rested for our MNSSHP.

That said, I would still go! It is absolutely one thing I wouldn't miss for anything in the world if I were in WDW on a MNSSHP night. We've gone every year for 8 years in a row and LOVED it every time! (Going for Christmas this year for a change, and let me tell you it is NOT easy going into October knowing no MNSSHP this year..but I digress).

Maistre Gracey said it best without saying it directly. It's not to be missed and worth every penny!:thumbsup2

Two words. NAP. COSTUMES. And three, don't miss it. We have gone three times. Once as a couple, once with our adult son and his friends, and once with our adult daughter and her friends! This year, fourth time is the charm. We are all going on 10/31, and can't wait. My college daughter was home this weekend, and talked about how much she was looking forward to the whole family doing Disney Halloween for the first time! And yep, we are costuming. DH and I were at Bay Lake on Sept. 4, the first party night, and watched hallowishes from the Top of the World Lounge. It reminded me of just how spectacular it is. and the parade is the BEST. I would think that the last night (November 1 this year) would be best of all. Again, Don't Miss It! And get your tix NOW! Have fun, and Boo to You!

 We have our tickets for 10/31 too! It was a dream or goal for DH this year. He will have on a Charlie Brown shirt and shaved his head, BIL will have on a light blue Zombie shirt. Maybe you will see us there. I am just wearing a pretty tee with a pumpkin on it. Have fun!!

Guess this comes down to personal preference, just like everything else. My birthday is on Halloween, which I think is very special. We went to the party on my birthday a couple of years ago and had a good time ..... very glad I did it, but I have no plans to do it again soon. I prefer MVMCP, but I love Christmas a lot. I seem to be in the minority, however.

It sounds a little risky to squeeze it in on your arrival night. If there's any delays with the flight or the kids find they can't nap, it could be disappointing.

Whatever you decide, hope you have a fantastic trip!

We are going down in a few weeks and have been debating whether or not to attend MNSSHP.

Thanks for all the posts, I think we will book it!

We love to go to MNSSHP, (and went to one just this last Friday) but I would skip it in your situation. If you're going to be in WDW for Halloween or it's eve, go to DTD or the BW area for Trick or Treating with the little ones. That's lots of fun, both of them are free, and you can enjoy MNSSHP in a different year.

We had our DGC with us 2 years ago, we went to DTD on the 30th and to the BW area on the 31st. They had a great time and so did we.
