Any words on this event? Is it over crowded, long lines, is Trick or Treat that much fun in the park and is the parde THAT SPECIAL?? We are really torn. We are arriving to WDW on the very last day of the Mickey Not-So-Scary Party. Our flight to Fla. is @6am, and our 4 yr. and 7yr old will be extremely tired by 7pm the last night of M. not so scary.... But with all our travels to WDW, we have always missed this event.

We adored this event last year! Keep in mind October 31 is already sold out, and other dates adjacent to that one probably will sell out too...

The ride lines were shorter as it is a limited attendance event, as opposed to the normal park times. The costumes everyone had on were fantastic! The children really seemed to enjoy themselves. The parade was spectacular - so much that we saw both showings of it that evening!

The trick or treat lines were plentiful, with no wait in our experience. I would definitely take my children if I were in your shoes... :)

Yes I agree with Carol Ann! IMHO it really is "that special"! ;) I'm not a big parade fan usually, but I LOVE the Halloween parade. It has some really cool elements, but I don't want to tell you & spoil it. A lot of people skip the attractions & just do the dance parties & shows with the characters, but we love that the rides are all pretty much walk on. It's one of the few times my kids get to ride the Speedway, because they won't wait in the normally long line. One tip I would give is to do the trick or treating portion last, because the lines die down & you don't have to carry candy all night. They are generous with the candy & there are a LOT Of candy stations!

If you think the kids will be exhausted, maybe you could all take a nap beforehand? Also don't waste your time having a big sit down meal during the party. Either eat beforehand or grab a quick bite in the park. Keep in mind, that the party officially starts at 7pm, but they are usually letting people in much earlier. You don't have to stay till the end, but the fireworks are a little more special than regular Wishes, so you wouldn't want to miss them. That's my 2 cents! :goodvibes

If you don't have an AP, it is well worth it.

We've gone twice - it's definitely a "do" in my book if you can buy tickets for your date in question. You can always have some afternoon down time or have the kids take a nap so they have a "second wind" at night.

We went last year for the first time and loved it so we're going again this year. Lots of people in great costumes so people watching is fun. Also, I did trick or treat as an adult so the first time trick or treating in probably 40+ years. It was fun!

We did this several years ago before our Magic cruise we used them as our them park tickets. I really think the parade is one of the best. We are going on Oct 15th which just happens to be our aniv!

I would say go, go, go! We did the MNSSHP the first time down and it was awesome. Our 2 boys loved it. There is a lot of candy and stations. I agree above, they are generous. We are going again in October and are going to the party on the 27th. It's worth I think even with little ones. :thumbsup2

It's an absolute blast--I wasn't sure about doing it, but now can't wait to do it again. That said, if your kids are tired from travel, don't do it this year. Wait to do it some other time. This is definitely an activity that takes lots of energy.

Two words. NAP. COSTUMES. And three, don't miss it. We have gone three times. Once as a couple, once with our adult son and his friends, and once with our adult daughter and her friends! This year, fourth time is the charm. We are all going on 10/31, and can't wait. My college daughter was home this weekend, and talked about how much she was looking forward to the whole family doing Disney Halloween for the first time! And yep, we are costuming. DH and I were at Bay Lake on Sept. 4, the first party night, and watched hallowishes from the Top of the World Lounge. It reminded me of just how spectacular it is. and the parade is the BEST. I would think that the last night (November 1 this year) would be best of all. Again, Don't Miss It! And get your tix NOW! Have fun, and Boo to You!

Seeing your flight is early, I might skip it. While I can say it is a fun time, I wouldn't want to drag around sleepy children for it. As someone else mentioned, maybe your children can take a nap & then be wide awake for the party that night. Also, have you checked availabilty? The tickets do sell out for certain nights. Good luck & have a great vacation!

It's a must do -- been twice and absolutely amazing both times. The fireworks show is the BEST one I've ever seen at Disney. Short lines, great parade, lots and lots of candy and dancing in the streets with the characters !

and because of all the MNSSHP's , the remaining evening EMH at MK may be nearly as packed as a normal day.
But the lines at the MNSSHP I attended last year were great!

To DW, the extra-long parade and fireworks at MVMCP and MNSSHP remind her of going to WDW as a child, when the parades and fireworks were more "extra special" than they seem now!

We have tix for the 23rd, 27th , and the 31st.
We do three parties every year.

Any more questions??

DH and I attended the party last Tuesday night and it was very good. The parade was excellent and we got an excellent viewing spot. It really is unique and the sound track is pretty "catchy". It was fun walking right on the rides and there were trick or treating stations everywhere. The haunted mansion looked so cool.

I personally liked this party better than the Christmas party. I would recommend it, but certainly understand your concerns re: the kids.

...then charge everyone $50+ for 5 short hours (at most) in the park.

Not to quibble, because I hear what you're saying, but people can get in to MK using their MNSSHP tickets starting at 4:00 pm. I think the park stays open until midnight, so that's more like 8 hours for your $59. Not a bad deal considering a single day Magic Your Way ticket is $79.

In any case, my family loves MNSSHP. Seeing how much fun my DD has at the party is worth the price of admission for me. Different strokes for different folks I guess!

I agree gortman65. We have done it when we didn't have APs and found it to be a bargain. We would enter at 4 PM and by the time the park closed, we were ready to leave anyway. Lots of fun.

I recently attended and, imo, it was fabulous. Loved the music/parade, characters' costumes, treats (they load you up with tons of candy!), and the smaller crowd. I highly recommend if Halloween is one of your favorite holidays (it is one of mine!).
