DO NOT USE netmagazines.com...RIP OFF! Buyer beware!

I just got an email from them apologizing for the holdup & wanting a billing address to mail a check to. I told them 1- you have my billing address already in your system & 2- the funds were within drawn from my paypal account SIX months ago - I would expect a refund given back the same way. At this point I have kissed my $7.50 good bye but I want to see how long it takes them & what they do. It is aggravating to deal with them. I have 4 tickets that I have opened - one a month. I do not understand their complaint method - what is it with the I accept or I reject their solution? It makes no sense.

I am having the exact same problem from the Kiplinger's deal way back in April 2006! I have opened SEVERAL tickets with them. They keep telling me they will refund my money and then they close the ticket, but they never send the money!!! :(

Actually, that is wrong. All of my correspondence from them came in through my email account. However, it is all form letters and nothing else.

I never received any replies from them via email, so I assumed they were ignoring me. I did find the replies on the web site though. Maybe the messges they sent to me (if they sent them) went to my junk email box. For those who aren't getting the messages, follow the steps I described above to see the replies. Mine said the case was closed. Huh??? It won't be closed until I get my refund. I don't even trust them to say they will start sending the magazines. Who knows what they'd pull next? My guess would be the magazines would stop coming after the first year.

I did finally get a reply asking for the paypal verfication showing that I paid for the magazines because their records showed I had not been billed yet. Duh! Don't you have to pay when you place the order????

Yep, I had to send "proof" of payment. Yea ok. Look in your flipping paypal account, idiots! But no fear! They will "resubmit my subscription at no additional cost to me, if I want.. riiiiiight.

I'm so sorry you guys are getting the run around through an online magazine place. I learned the hard way. I ordered 2 year subscription to Reader's Digest through an online service and it stopped after 1 year. I got the run around, wanted my account credited for the year I didn't get. Nothing...

At least I got a year, but was disappointed and chalked it up to a lesson learned. Kind of an expensive subscription if you ask me, but that's life. I complained as much as I could before I gave up. Kudo's to you to think to go to the AG and BBB!

I ALWAYS order through the company that supplies the magazine now. I figure if I order through them directly it reflects on them on how they handle problems, etc. I get Money and have great service, even if I have to pay a higher price. I actually get the magazine for the times stated.

Good luck to you guys in getting these fraudulant online companies. It sickens me to think how much money they get to keep because they give the run around until someone gives up (like me). Terrible.

Just wanted to update that I have heard from the BBB and AG that they had my complaint and had forwarded it to the company. We will see how and if they respond.

Good for you. Keep us posted.

I haven't gotten any emails except the first one when I first contacted AG saying they received my complaint.

I went to Netmagazines and saw that michelle will get back to me in 5 to 7 days. Isn't that great?

Glad I found this thread! I thought I was the only one getting jerked around with the September Disney Adventures subscription! How could you pass up the opoprtunity for 3 years for $7.50? I filed a complaint with netmagazines about 2 months ago, but I did not understand the I accept/I decline response option. They never got back to me on anything and of course Paypal was paid in September . . . I sent another complaint to netmagazines today so we'll see what happens . . . :sad2:

Ok, another update. The BBB got a response from them. They offered to either send me a check (which is bull, since I payed via paypal) or to give me the supscription, that the magazine would take 6-12 weeks to get here, as it normally does when you subscribe. I told them to go ahead and get me the subscription that I paid for. I said that I was willing to allow them to make this right, but that I would be contacting the publisher to make sure I was getting the 3 years and if I did not get all three years or they do not submit my subscription, I would be resubmitting my complaint to the BBB. I also told them that it should not have taken 6 months and a complaint to the BBB to get them to actually respond personally and stop using form replies. 6 months and me having to force their hand is NOT good business.

We will see. Stay tuned.

I'm still not sure how to go about checking for their response. I contacted them twice now, but I can't find anywhere that they have replied to my complaints.

Anyone have any luck contacting Disney Adventures?

*sigh* Today I got:

Kiplinger's Personal Finance:
I sincerely apologize for the hold up. There is ongoing problem occured in the paypal transaction. Please provide your billing address so that we could send you a refund check at the earliest. Thank you.

WHATever! I better have a check in 7 days. I would much rather have the sub, though:(

Yes, that is what they told the BBB. That it was a paypal error. Erm. If you know there is an error with your paypal, why not manually do them? How hard is that?

At least you guys are hearing something.

I contacted the AG and haven't heard anything. That same day (March 16) I asked Net Magazine again what's the delay in my order. The next day I went to their website to see if I got an answer and got the usual 'we'll look into it and get back to you in 5 to 7 business days' so that will be tomorrow so I'll submit another 'log' after Wednesday if I haven't heard from them by then and I highly doubt that I will.

Well yea, I heard from them (for the 4th time :sad2: ) but will I ever get my refund? :confused3 Granted, it's not a lot of money at all, but it is the principle.

I hear ya! It certainly is the principle. Can you imagine if they do this to everyone, how much money they make on our $7.50 a person.

I just wish I'd get an email or something giving me a reason or a resolution rather than the usual, we'll get back to you crap.

File with the BBB. That is what got them to respond.

Oh, and today's update is that 'Michelle' emailed me to tell me that my order is now declined by Disney and that I should provide my paypal info so they can give me a refund. WHATEVER! I bet Disney has cut them off and that is why they are having all these problems. They suck worse than anything I have ever experienced before. They had to ask me, yet again, for my paypal information. Um... it is RIGHT THERE in the user tickets. Maybe they cannot read.

I cannot believe the stupidity of this company. Here I am, I have filed complaints and they have personally contacted me to make restitution, and yet I just got another one of their form "we are hoping you will go away because we suck" form emails. I wrote back and told them that perhaps it was time for them to either start providing real customer service or go out of business, since this is sickening. I refered them to my BBB complaint. Hello! I do not need to know that "it seems your suscription was denied" bs... we went through this TWICE already! IDIOTS!

I got a response via their stupid 'case log' ticket system. She said my order was declined and if I'd provide her my pay pal account and email address...yada yada yada. Well, I paid with my Disney Visa and why would my order be declined and why would it take 5 months to figure it out and why does she need me to tell her my email address yet again? All this should be in their records.

They are unreal.
