DO NOT USE netmagazines.com...RIP OFF! Buyer beware!

NetMagazines (aka NetVision) is based out of Seattle, WA (according to their web site). Let's all bombard the WA State Attorney General with complaints about this company.

Here is the link:

You can file a consumer complaint online. If his office gets enough complaints from all of us, maybe something will be done. Send your message today.

I had this same problem. I started inquiring about it at the end of December since it was already past the start date that they had listed on their site.

I got a generic message about them looking into the problem further.

A few days later no response still. I asked again and got a message asking me for my PayPal payment info since they couldn't find it. :confused3

I sent them my PayPal transaction number and ALSO contacted my credit card company at this time. I told them that I made a purchase that I never received and they investigated for me. They were able to check into things and also did not receive any word back from NetMagazines.com so they credited my account back for the $$ that I had paid for the magazines originally. PayPal went along with it and allowed the credit back with no charges to me.

BTW, I ended up getting back another generic message from NetMagazines about them still "looking into things" and if I look at my account with them, it still shows the order pending.

MORAL of the STORY: When it comes to these kinds of things, I now ALWAYS use my credit card through PayPal in order to protect myself. Fortunately, that was the only time I have run up against anything like that.

Another one to avoid is www.magsforless.com. Same problem - same run around BS.

I totally agree! I ordered 2 different magazines from them and neither showed up. Fortunately I was able to dispute the charge with my credit card company and I got my money back, but I wonder how many people forget, or their option to dispute goes by while they're still waiting for it to show up?

I normally don't order from "no-name" Internet companies, and this experience reminded me why! Be careful when ordering magazines on the net--mark your calendar to dispute the charges if they don't show up!

I ordered Disney Adventures from magsforless and it never came. I ended up ordering directly from Disney, which I wish I had done in the first place.

I ordered Disney Adventures with NetMagazines through a deal I found out here on the DISBoards. I am getting the same runaround. First they told me that I had not been charged. I informed them that I paid the same day I ordered it & gave them proof. I have opened 4 trouble tickets & each time said I rejected their response. The last time I heard from them they offered me a refund. I am still waiting. It was only $7.50 and it was a great bargain but it pisses me off that they won't honor their commitments. I am going to keep plugging away & hopefully one of these days I will get a response.

From what I understand is you have to dispute a claim within 45 days of payment with Paypal. Since it has been well over that period, I don't think Paypal will get involved. Does anyone know about this?

Great question! I filed paypal claims this afternoon, and they all were rejected. Good Luck!

Well, well... imagine that! My subscription was "denied"... how amazingly astonishing! NOT!

This is what I sent them in response to their offer to "resubmit this at no added charge to me".

Yes, I still want the magazine, but I will tell you upfront that I am not convinced that this is not yet another stall tactic. I am very displeased that it has taken until now for you to realize that the order was "declined". You could not notify me or resend it when that happened? I had to harrass you via these god-awful forms for you to tell me this?

I will give this another week. I expect that you will have given my subscription to the publisher by the end of next week. If that does not happen, I will consider this yet another stall tactic and take this up with the BBB in Washington State as well as my own States Attorney. Honestly, this has to be the worst customer service I have ever gotten and your customer communication can't even be called lacking, since all you do is send form responses. I know this because I have spoken to other people who have gotten this exact same response.

They do not want Blumenthal on their case. He goes after everyone and everything with all he can.

Well, I just went ahead and filed a complaint with the Washington state BBB and Attorney General. At this point I would be happy with just getting my paypal credited back, unless they can send proof that they resubmitted the subscription. I would rather not get a check from them, as who knows if it would bounce and then I would have to complain about THAT! Just give me back my money already.

Anyone considering using them, I would say DON'T! What a frustrating experience and what a scam.

Keep fussing at them. That was how I got them to fulfill my Kiplinger's committment. They didn't send the second subscription to my in-laws, however.

I filed my second complaint this morning for Disney Adventures magazine that I ordered Oct 3 and haven't received yet.

I then found this thread!

I just filed a complaint with the WA Attorney General.

I can't believe these jerks can get away with this. Its the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

I agree, though to be fair to the companies that actually provide customer service, this company would actually have to send out NON-FORM emails to be considered customer service. I have yet to see an email from them that was not a form email. I bet if we all compared the emails they sent, they would be word for word the same.

I ordered TV guide from NetMagazines on Sept. 6. Didn't get it. Only replies I got from my e-mail was to click on the e-mail they sent me so they would know it wasn't spam. But I never did get an answer.

I waited over 4 months and then called my cc company, American Express. They said they would take care of it. A couple of weeks later I got a letter saying they had removed the charge. I do feel AE has the best customer service.

I agree with American Express having great customer service. I had a problem with an Ebay seller and they took care of it. Thanks for all of your comments on this, I recently checked this site out and was so happy about their low prices so I am waiting for my subsciption to end so that I can order through them. Thank god that I did not place my order yet. :woohoo:
I am so sorry for all of you that have been taken advantage of. Here's a hug for you

Well, I got an email stating that the AG would contact the business and see what their response would be. I know that the AG cannot really do much, other than ask them to make restitution, but I figure maybe the company will get a message. Or they will just be annoyed. Whatever.

Man, I ordered this magazine over 6 months ago and never got it, either! Anyone have a link to the form you filled out to file a complaint with them?

In a sad sort of way, it makes me feel better that others have had a bad experience with these people. It really burns me that they can provide such poor service. It is like they could care less. Of course, I get the impression that there is only a few people who work for them... so maybe that is why.

I am trying to decide if I should wait for them to respond to this new round of user ticket complaint, or just contact BBB and see if they can help.

My refund check has not been returned. I cashed it on 3/7 and as of 3/16 it has not been returned by the bank. Good luck!

Go to the web site http://www. netmagazines, click on the "my account" tab at the top. Enter your email and user name. You will automatically have a user name if you purchased from them. If you've forgotten it, they will email it to you. Once you log on, click on the view order link to get your order info. Then, you can go to the top buttons again and click on "help." From there, click on "report a problem" and fill out the form.

They won't send you an email reply. You'll have to log back into your account periodically and check your case log for notes from them (there's a tab link at the top of the help page). I'll bet a lot of people wait for responses (like me) to be emailed to them and come to find out, they only respond on their own web page.

I sent a complaint to the WA state Attorney General. Looks like some others have done so, as well. If everyone out there complains to the AG, we should all get our money back, and hopefully this company will change it's tactics or lose it's business license.

Good luck!

Actually, that is wrong. All of my correspondence from them came in through my email account. However, it is all form letters and nothing else.

I have not gotten one email from them. I have to go to their website to file the complaint and to see if they've replied...just as IDoDis described.

That is odd. I always get an email from them with exactly the same info as is in my user window when I log in there. Not that it matters, they never do squat for me, just continue to string me along.
