Do many of you move within same resort to smaller villa/studio to save weekend points

We have done this many times. Stayed in a studio for the weekend and moved to a 1 bedroom at a different resort for the week. We have 2 kids with us too and we have never had a problem. We like staying at 2 different places in one trip. However, I don't like to leave my bags so we would just hop in a cab to the next resort. This upcoming trip we will be at BCV in a studio for the weekend, then BWV 1 bedroom for a week.

We're one of those that try to save those weekend points for another trip. Weve done several 12 night and one 15 night trips here is how it worked out for us.

The 15 nighter - too much moving, we won't do this particular style of trip again. Checked in at POR on a Saturday, OKW Sun-Thu, POR again Fri & Sat, OKW again Sun-Thu, and POR again(!) Fri & Sat. TOO much moving on one trip !

Several 12 nighters - DVC Sun-Thu, moderatate or deluxe Fri & Sat , and then DVC Sun-Thu again. Only two moves , and pretty easy to do. This is our standard plan and works out well for us. Also allows us to try different resorts. Great way to see what you like and don't like about other resorts without having to commit to a full lenght vacation stay there.

At least two 12 nighter staying in the same resort and room, but booking the Fri & Sat nights on cash. Did this one June and another time over Christmas + New Years. Got the 25% discount both times 11 months out. It wasn't as inexpensive as going the moderato or deluxe route , but I do have to admit 12 nights in a 1 bedroom is SWEET ! Nice thing about this scanario is that you can always cancel the cash nights if a good AP discount becomes available later. BTW, 2 nights 1 bedroom holiday time at OKW was 146 points - can ya' see why I chose cash ? ;)

We purchased enough points for a nice trip every other year. Flights are expensive for us running 2500.00-3500.00 cad. We need to stretch our trips out to at least 10 day trips minimum. We will use POR or ASMU Suites to tide us over on weekends and extend our trip as long as possible.:thumbsup2

I've moved on most of my trips to save points. I enjoy Universal, Seaworld, and Busch Gardens so moving for the weekend not only saves points but gets me closer to those attractions.

We are going to AKV (our first trip there as DVC) after our first DVC trip (SSR this Jan on Dev.Points) this upcoming Sept and are switching rooms because we're taking my parents and my sister and her DH. We (me, DH and our 2 boys) are staying 3 nights in a studio before my family arrives then we'll transfer to a 2bdm with my parents for 7 nights and my sister and her DH will have their own studio. So, with 3 ressies, we had to move to stay longer (we want 10 days but my parents and sister don't). Otherwise, we'd be in a 1bdm the whole time.
