If we stay onsite, do I need to buy my tickets thru universal to receive the early entry etc.? We have NEVER stayed at Universal before... ALWAYS DISNEY, so this will be a first for us... :)

No...you can buy your park tickets wherever you want. It is your room key for your on site hotel that gets you the perks.

Can/Will tickets purchased offsite be added to your room key so you don't have to carry around your room key and tickets? Can this be done at the hotel, guest services or both?

TIA

We purchase our tickets through AAA for each trip and the tickets and room keys are always separate. I'm not even sure that Universal has that option since the tickets have always been paper tickets and separate. Even on the occasion that we have booked a package through Universal they were separate.

I purchased our tix from Mapleleaf tickets. I was told that they could not be added to the room key.

Nope....park tickets and room keys are two seaparate entities. The tickets can NOT be added to the room key.
