Do I have time to see Wishes and get to Ohana for 8:30pm?

Am I cutting this too close...we want to see Wishes our first night we get in. It starts at 8pm. Our dinner reservation is at the Poly at Ohana for 8:30pm. What do you all think??

IMO, no way.

You have to watch Wishes, exit the park with the masses, get on the resort monorail with the masses (or take the boat with the somewhat smaller masses). And you're supposed to arrive before your ADR time - I think they tell you 10 minutes.

I would guess you wouldn't get to the Poly after Wishes at 8 until closer to 8:45 or 9 PM.

Agree w/ PP, very unlikely that you could make an 8:30 ADR at the Poly.

What you could do, is plan to watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly & then just stroll on over to the GCH, for your Ohana ressie.

Besides having to get over to the Poly, the checking line for Ohana tends to be quite long so that will also take some time.

We tried it once... we were VERY late for our reservation. They still got us in, but I wouldn't recommend trying it.

We just got back from a trip a few weeks ago where we had an 8:40p reservation for Ohana and decided to watch from the beach at the Poly as others have suggested. It was great and allowed us to get right up to Ohana as soon as the fireworks were over. We checked in a little early and our wait was pretty short. We got a great table right by the window looking at MK. I assume the short wait and good table was probably because all the people at the window seats were hanging out watching the fireworks and left as soon as they were over, freeing up a bunch of tables.

Thanks everyone! I didn't even think to watch it from the Polynesian, duh! See, that's why the disboards are awesome...people have good advice!
