in commission on resales as they do on "new" (SSR) sales?

Just wondering. I told our salesperson that we decided to wait on buying into DVC for two reasons...

1)We really don't have the money right now (that was a biggie, to say the least, LOL!)

2)If and when we decide to buy, we are pretty sure we would like to buy a VWL resale. I told her we would come to her if we decided to do that, and she did not seem too enthused. Don't get me wrong, she was not rude or anything....she just seemed to REALLY try to steer us toward SSR.

Could it be that she knows if we do research we may find better deals on a VWL resale rather than going through Disney? Or is it that she will not make as much (or any) money off a sale like that?

Thanks for any info you may have! :flower:

DVC sales personnel do not do any resales. Those are done through outside brokers like the Timshare Store. Thus, her disappointment was that she would not even make the sale.

Really? She told me I could do it thru Disney. Cuz I even asked her, "Now, what is the benefit of buying a resale thru you as opposed to another outlet?"

She mentioned the financing, and I even asked her if I could buy less than 150 points since it would be a resale and she said no.

I am pretty sure Disney does resales. She mentioned something about VWL being $89 a point.

"You" are calling it a resale, but DVC is selling points they have ROFR'd and now selling to you as though they are new, even though they are at a resort that is not a "new" resort....thus NOT a resale, but a purchase from DVC for one of the resorts other than SSR. Those points are many times in short supply, but when available, you can buy them from Disney as a new member with minimum 150 pts purchase. The biggest benefit is the financing should you need it.

I guess that the goals that DVC sets up for the guides probably are geared for them to sell SSR, not the other ones. wildernesslodgelover, if you're looking to buy VWL, I hope it comes to pass for you! It really is my favorite resort.

One nice thing about buying through Disney once you are a member is you can buy just the number of points you want. I suspect there are many 25 or 50 point contracts out there that members acquired as add-ons. With a resale closing costs can push smaller contracts above buying form Disney directly.

they all have different salaries................it is based upon performances and experience............

LovetoDisney-So then you are saying all sales are equal to the salespeople?

Thanks Bobbi-I really hope that we will own there one day SOON!
