DO CMs RECEIVE A DISCOUNT?

Do CMs receive a discount on the purchace of DVC points? And if so how much is the discount?

I was told this by a CM:

CM's of the WD Co. receive a 15% discount on DVC. There are occasional times when on-site Florida CM's only can get up to 25% discount. Non-Florida CM's never get this deal.

I have a co worker who worked for Disney about 10 years ago and bought OKW at a 35% discount.

CM's are offered a 30% discount on the purchase of DVC. Non-DVC merchandise is 15% and twice a year (June and December) they have an additional 20% merchandise.

Are there any CM's out there to confirm?

Our DIL is a CM and we bought into DVC with her 25% discount in January....and then again used her 25% discount to add on about a month later. She was sure that the discount wouldn't stay at 25%, (it had been 15%) so we took advantage of it while it was available! Lucky us!

All Disney store CMs received the 15% discount up until last November.

Don't know what the current discount is but I got mine at 15% while a TDS CM. Unfortunately - as someone mentioned - that discount is now gone as they are TCS CMs now.

Ditto to this post. It saved me more than I earned while I was a Disney Store CM. They used to call me in for a two hour shift about every two to three weeks. I was/am not complaining - I enjoyed it and certainly reaped benefits.

Do the FL. CM's have a minimum point requirement when they buy with the discount, or can the buy a few points, say, every month? And can they buy at sold-out resorts?

As far as buying for family members mentioned in the other post - I think the CM has to be on the contract, but they could certainly put other family members on it. I'm just guessing - because the merch disc was only good for CM and spouse.

My cousin and his wife both just started jobs at WDW, and I know they'll be interested in this.

I was a long time TDS CM - they offered and openly allowed my 15% CM discount to be used by my parents & BIL/SIL. We were not being sneaky in the least, I was not on their contracts, and DVC knew what our relationship was.

Now the discount has increased and I am no longer a CM, so things could have changed by now.

Sorry to take so long to respond...I've been away from the boards.

We own the contract, our DIL's name is not listed anywhwere in our contracts. The CM's discount is extended to parents, parents-in-law and siblings.

Things may have changed. As of Jan 2005 when we asked who the discount was extended to...we were told immediate family, and not cousins, nieces and nephews. We asked specifically because we have such a large extended family.

Thanks! Yes, our son and DIL are named on our contract, so that would work. They're both planning on being back at WDW by the end of next year. We own at BWV, so that's where we'd prefer to pick up a few points, if possible.
