We just changed our resort stay from the Cabins to SSR for our stay beginning in 7 days. Pretty sure we will have to get our bags at the airport but can someone confirm that For me? Any chance our original yellow tags would get our bags to our new resort?

Call to make sure but I believe I have seen others have similar circumstances here and not had any issues leaving the original tags on as it goes by the bar code. Think others have also said they crossed out the original resort in marker and wrote the new resort in.

Yes, as long as the reservation number hasn't changed, the bar code will have the correct information. Crossing out the old resort name and writing in the new one is a good idea (just make sure you don't write on the bar code) just so that some "helpful" DME employee doesn't see that the tag says FTW and move it to the "correct" bus. You can leave the tags off it will make you feel better, but you don't have to get the luggage yourself. You can just give your baggage claim tickets to the DME people along with a description of your luggage.

I had always been told that as long as the reservation number stats the same, there is no need for new tags. BUT....I changed my reservation from Pop to POR. Number stayed the same. However....when we arrived at DME, we tapped our MBs, the CM directed us to the Pop bus line. Told him no, we were at POR. It took them awhile to find it....close to 10 mins. Told us it was good we had no bags being delivered. Um, no....dd and I had our bags with us since we had arrived by car...but dd's best friend had a checked bag, properly tagged. They did some computer stuff, then told us it was all straightened out. That was at 5:15. They told us the resort name should have been crossed out, and POR written in!
That bag didn't get to our room until past 1am!! It had gone to Pop, and sat there.
So....carefully cross out the old resort name and write in the new one. Lesson learned.
