Divas, Zebra Domes, and Pixie Dust! A Week in an African Paradise! New TR Link Pg.145

It's been ages since I posted on the Dis so I have tons to catch up on. What a relaxing night at AK! Connor's french fries sure look good. :) Yum!

Hi Jackie,
How are you?
Only 16 days untill your trip I'm so jealous, but I think it's illegal to go on another trip with out finishing the first Tr.:rotfl2:
What are your plans for the trip?

Hi! I think there are rules against it -- maybe. I am going to try very hard to finish this one out, but I am beginning to think that may not happen. We'll see.

Where still trying to figure out whether October or November. It just depends on DH's work schedule. If he can we'll go november. Yes, we have been Christmas time many times. We used to live in Orlando. Then moved to South Fl. in 02 and went for xmas 04, 05, 08, and hopefully 09. It sure is the most magical thing ever. We took Emily on new years day when she was 5 and half weeks
Heres her with Alice and Mad hatter

O.K well I'm done venting

That is just a precious picture! I love it!

Oh and one more thing TSM wii came out today. :dance3:
Are you getting it?
I can't decide if i should get it now for the kids (and me) or wait untill Chanukah. I don't think I can wait that long. The kids don't know the game exists.

We don't have a Wii, but I have heard so many good things about TSM, that I want one now. :lmao:

I just love the AKL.. and seeing the your pics just makes me smile.

I love Boma's food- it was by far one of my favorite places we ate at. Seeing your pics is practically making my mouth water. hehe I want to go back soo bad. I got full before I could try everything. hehe

I love the chairs at AKL. They are soo pretty- and big. I can't believe your are going on your last day. I swear I'm slacking.

Thank you! I feel the same way about AKL, Boma, and the chairs! Wish I could be there right this minute!

Good morning Jackie! This is off topic but I thought of you when I saw the e-mail. :goodvibes

I get daily reads from booksamillion.com. This week one of the books is called "Street Gang" by Michael Davis. It's about Jim Henson. I've just finished reading todays excerpt and this looks like an interesting book. It's not very complimentary of Eisner.  Anywho....I know you like the Muppets and thought I'd let you know about the book.

Hi, Jill! That sounds like a very neat book -- I will have to go look it up on Amazon -- I just found out that a local museum here in Atlanta has several Jim Henson and Muppets exhibits -- I am thinking we may need to go check them out.

I got behind on your report, but I am finally caught up. I loved the story about King Pin. It sounds like you all had a very interesting afternoon at AKL. I bet that story teller would have been great to hear.

We did have a very interesting and fun afternoon and evening!

Another trip Jackie? Are you going to do a trip report? You are lucky!!!

Yes and yes. I am very lucky -- we will be headed down there exactly two weeks from today!

Hey CP! All caught up..it's been too long. Loving all the pics as usually and the kid's face paintings were great! How did you guys like the fudge? I was disappointed myself. :confused3 The Brown Derby looks good. I hope to try in January on our alone trip. :cloud9: Must do Boma for dinner also.

Hi, Pookie! Hurray for being caught up! I was not impressed with the fudge at all, but Chelsea and Connor really liked it! Yes, try both Boma and Brown Derby -- delicious meals!

It's been ages since I posted on the Dis so I have tons to catch up on. What a relaxing night at AK! Connor's french fries sure look good. :) Yum!

Hi! I would love to have a big plate of those fries right now!

It was our last full day at Disney, and I suddenly realized that Nobby had been sorely neglected during the trip. Not to fear, though, he had found his favorite spot to relax.

I gave Chelsea and Connor several options as to how we should spend the day. They decided they wanted to spend it at Epcot.

After a quick breakfast of whatevers (some of us probably had desserts and some of us probably had granola bars), we reached the park in time for rope drop. We edged over to the right as far as we could, and when the rope dropped we scurried with the hordes towards Soarin’. I was going to just grab Fast Passes, but Chelsea convinced me that we should just do stand-by. I am glad she did – the line moved very fast, and we were listening to our flight directions in no time.

However, Chelsea was furious with me when I made her use the center strap – her head barely came up to the bottom of the red marker, and I had visions of her slipping out of the seat belt and plunging forty stories down. She did not have those same visions though and was so angry at me that she refused to speak to me after declaring, “I will never ride Soarin’ again.” (That has since changed to, “I will never ride Soarin’ as long as you make me use the center strap.”)

Next we did Living with the Land. Connor and I kept our eyes peeled for the Mickey pumpkin, but we couldn’t find it. Where was it hiding?

We did see…

And other cool plants.

By the end of the ride Chelsea was “sort of” speaking to me and suggested we stop for a snack at Sunshine Seasons. It was about 10:00 and since we hadn’t really eaten breakfast I thought it sounded like a good idea. Chelsea had a cheese Danish, Connor had a cinnamon roll, and I had the strawberry shortcake. It was all delicious.

Chelsea arranged the plates just right before I took the picture.

Before Connor exploded with impatience, we went to sign him up for his Kim Possible Mission. His time was 11:30 at the International Gateway. At least it was on the opposite side from last time.

We debated meeting the characters at the Character Connection, but the kids didn’t want to wait in line. Instead we went to Innoventions where the kids starred in their own video game.

First they had to stand in one spot.
262.jpg

Then they had to run.
263.jpg

Next was jumping.
264.jpg

Finally was a victory dance.

I was cracking up while I was taking pictures.

Look it’s Chelsea and Connor in their first-ever video game!!!

It was about time to meander over to World Showcase after a quick stop in Club Cool!

UP NEXT: Mission, Mission, Mission, Hat.

I love Living with the Land, pity that there was no Mickey pumpkin though!

That video game looks awesome, I'll so have to do it with my girls :thumbsup2

Forget the kids...I kind of want to make my own video game!!! LOL I'm sure the kids love doing that! Club Cool...Beverly???

Ooo-I didn't even know about the video game...we'll have to put that on the ever growing list of to dos next time around...

Oh-I'm so happy for Connor that he gets to do another KP Mission...(I have to admit-I really like them too...)

popcorn::

Wow your strawberry shortcake looks so good!!! I putting that on my list for next time and the make your own video game. My 10 year old would love it.

Hopefully Chelsea will be tall enough on her next visit not to have to even consider wearing the center strap.

Sorry I haven't posted much lately, but I've been following along!

It looks like the kids had a ton of fun, and that dessert looks delish!

Would you believe that we never even made it to Innoventions when we were there? Never saw Figment either! It's high on our to-do list in November.

I love your breakfast choices!

I'm very glad you found a nice spot for Nobby. Chelsea is in full tween mode isn't she, I can only imagine what Kendall's reaction would have been. Heck, I could see Evan pulling the same snit.

I need to check out the video game thing next time, the boys would love that!

Great update, keep it coming!

I was a bit behind....okay, a LOT behind! :sad2: But, I'm all caught up now-every update has made me smile! I had to laugh a bit at the pre-teen angst of using the center strap.... I don't blame you ONE bit for making her use that center strap-I would have done the exact same!!! :goodvibes

Love that you took the time to experience the folk teller...that is such a neat unique aspect of AKL. :thumbsup2

The video game stuff at Innoventions looks so neat! I bet the kids had a blast doing that.

Isn't that strawberry shortcake from SS WONDERFUL? :cloud9:

So sad that you're on your last day! The video game looks like alot of fun. And I too have been on the receiving end of pre-teen attitude - just 5 minutes ago, in fact:sad2:. Mine doesn't hold onto it very long, thankfully, she moves on to the next drama quickly!:headache:

The yummies look just that...yummy!

Chelsea and Connor are really focusing in that first picture. We haven't been in a video game before. We'll have to give that a try!

You're so funny making Chelsea wear a strap like the little aviators.
I know she didn't think you were too funny at the time, though. I guess it made it easier for her to forgive you the hungrier she got, since she knew that without you, there would be none of the aforementioned yummies. :)

Thanks for reminding me of my Soarin' today. :goodvibes

Living with the Land is closed for a while, so I guess we'll see it again in December, if it is back and if time allows. I enjoy the ride and want to do the Behind the Seeds Tour someday.

Awww...I simply loved this update!! We got to see Nobby, glad he was able to do some relaxing that is always nice!!!

EPCOT...such a fun park!! Those snacks at Sunshine Seasons looked delicious!! YUMMY!!!

Loved that they were able to make their own video game, how cool is that!!!

Can't wait to hear about Connor's adventures with Kim P!!

Hey Jackie! Loved the Epcot morning last day so far! Soarin' with or without the center strap = :cloud9: Oh! And the treats look good too :thumbsup2

Love that make your own video game! I have to do that this trip -- we never have...

You made her use the center strap?!? I think that Baylor uses it :sad2: he worries that he will fall out.....
That strawberry shortcake looks very tasty, and I can't wait to show Baylor the video game at Innoventions!

I would so no be popular with Chelsea right now, since I'm going to agree with you on the center strap thing. Heights scare the beejezus out of me, so I'm with you! The last thing we need is a kiddo slipping out! :thumbsup2

The video game thing looks soooo cool! I'm going to have to tell my husband about that. Thank goodness Connor's lined up for more Kim Possible! ;)
