The fire pit stories sound awesome, Jackie; where else would the kids have been able to meet a real African Queen!
I know! Heaven knows it will be awhile before I can afford a real African vacation and by then, if the kids want to go, they can pay their own way.

What a wonderfully relaxing way to end your day! I felt a brief pang of sadness when you mentioned that we were fast approaching the last day of your adventure... but then I remembered that you have a little trip coming up soon, so that made me feel better!
Yes, thank goodness we have another trip very soon -- I wonder how long I stretch out four days of a trip report!

The African storytelling by the fire sounds amazing...oh, if only Billy wasn't terrified of fire!Perhaps I'll just take the girls to the firepit while Ed and Billy swim... I'd hate to have them miss it!
Kathy
Yes, have Ed take Billy swimming, because you and Tricia and her cousin would love the storytelling!
Nothing like a nice relaxing evening! I'm glad Chelsea put her desserts on a clean plate. They look so much better now! LOL
I thought the desserts looked so much better on the second plate, too!

I can't believe we are on your last full day already. Time just flies by even in trip reports I guess.
But with tons of stories and 94 pictures, it will take me a few updates to cover all of that last day.

I had to laugh about Chelsea being a bit disgruntled over not getting to go back to AK for Kali. I remember distinctly being in that exact same situation as a kid, and wanting to go back for Space Mountain.
I am sure I have a similar moment in my childhood that I can't remember anymore.

Dessert and salmon.
It's new to me, but I'm game.![]()
The girl likes her desserts and meat.

I love that she eventually transferred it to another plate and then the desserts all together. One of practically everything, right? That girl knows my style!
I'm glad you had such an enjoyable dinner there. It makes me want to try it again. I don't know if I'l be able to talk my husband into it. Maybe someday!
Yep, Chelsea tried just about everything on the dessert tables -- I did, too.
I think Boma's dinner is superior to their breakfast -- far, far superior.
I love the storytelling by the fire, that must be such a great experience, and relaxing for you and the kids.![]()
It was just so neat and unlike anything we have ever done.
what a wonderful evening!!! I can just picture Conor rocking so hard he almost catapulted.
He would have looked like a Muppet sailing through the air!

You really really "did" AKL with all that it has to offer, what a special trip so far, I can't believe it is almost your last day![]()
One of my big goals for the trip was to really explore and experience AKL -- it was great!
What a great evening at AKL! The desserts look so yummy. And the storytelling sounds wonderful. Ending the day with a swim is just perfect.
Your report is getting me so excited about our AKL stay. I can't wait!!!
You are going to fall in love there!!! I just know you are!!!

I love Connor's smile-David does that same toothy smile for sometimes-when I ask him to smile for a photo...priceless...![]()
Yes, the "picture" smile!
I'm impressed with the variety on Chelsea's dessert plate-did she have any favorites...I notice there are no zebra domes there...was she domed out...Quite of those look familiar to me...sigh...did you ever have that experience where you were too full to eat any more and then the next day you're wishing you could have what you weren't able to finish? I'm looking at that plate and wishing...
![]()
I think as many domes as that girl had consumed, she had decided to take a break from them. LOL! I know exactly what you mean about wishing you could have what you didn't finish -- I do that a lot!
The Storyteller is lovely (as are her shorter companions...)-I love that dress she is wearing...I'm glad that you all enjoyed the story-I love being told stories...I think its human nature to enjoy hearing one...and it does the heart good to know that with all the high tech entertainment we have access to that a well told tale by a good storyteller still has such capacity to bring pleasure...(and it doesn't hurt being surrounded by one of the most gorgeous resorts either...
)
Isn't that dress beautiful??? I love it, too!
You have put into writing exactly how I felt listening to that story!

We're on your last full day?...make sure you draw it ooooouuuuuuuuttttttt...
It will be four updates -- plus our leaving day/souvenir post -- have to get this TR finished by September 30.

I'm all caught up.
Our families seem so alike I was a teacher, but I got laid of a few months ago.
I am so sorry -- that stinks!

Connor- My dd Amy just turned 11 and they seem alike.
Chelsea- my dd Emily 13 is exactly the same. Same juicy personality and always wants to pose with everything.
DH- You don't see much of him in my Tr either he never wants to pose with the characters. Says he'll meet us later.
So, you know exactly what I am talking about!

That's so exciting about your upcoming trip. Are you going for free dining? Right now we have booked Oct 21-27 but I'm thinking about canceling it and moving it to nov 10-16. That way we would be there for Christmas decorations and Emily's birthday.:
We did not do the free dining -- we went with a discounted room since we really just want the freedom of snacking around World Showcase if we want to do so.
If you have never been when Disney is decorated for Christmas, it is just breathtaking! We went the week before Christmas in 2004, and it was such a wonderful experience!
I'm really behind, so this comment is for 6/11. Honestly didn't know that there was a restaurantosaurus. How nice that it is inside, I'm adding that to our list.
Depending on how hot it is the day you visit AK, you will love the AC!
LOVE Chelsea's necklace. I want one.![]()
I thought it was so pretty!
So nice that the kids can stand in line alone.
It is very nice! Who knew that I would consider being able to stand in line by themselves a milestone!
