"Diva" Trip - "Cliff Notes" p.236 OLD THREAD!

Hey Jen, is the Easter exchange thread complete? Let me know when it is, and I'll remove the link to it from the first page of this thread.

For those of you who enjoy the exchanges, I'll be hosting a "Fun in the Summer Sun" exchange starting in mid May. (packages will be arriving in June)

This will be for adults and kids, so it's a great way to get the kiddos involved and send to each other. Plus a fun summer package is a great way for the kids (and grown-ups!) to celebrate the end of school and start of summer vacation.
(Remember as a kid when that was SUCH a big deal. Summer break....whoo hoo! LOL)

Morning all!

So did anyone watch the new show the voice last night? I wasn't really sure if I wanted to get involved in yet ANOTHER new show but I watch Biggest Loser and it came on right after so I said what the heck. It was interesting although I am not sure if I will keep watching or not. I am interested to see if it will move to an earlier time once BL ends in a few weeks. I will prob watch for now although usually I can't stay up that late LOL.

Today is Shelby's b-day and she is all excited. I picked her up from school yesterday and took her to get some cookies to take to school today. I used to get cupcakes but she has such a large class I would have had to buy like 4 packages so it was just easier to get a couple bags of cookies! Then tonight we are going to take her to dinner. I am thinking we are going to go see Diary of a wimpy kid on Sunday with her friends but I have to see if it is still playing by then. That is what she really wants to see otherwise it may be gnomeo and juliet. I still want to see Rango but I guess her friends have already seen that one. Or hop may still be a possibility. Not sure.

Anyway and then today I am off to my doc apt. Just need to get it over with I suppose. BLEH!

We just watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid the other night everyone of us laughed alot we all enjoyed it from Colton & our neighbors daughter age 3 to the adults...hope you can find it playing I highly recommend it.

Before I started hosting the ones for the Diva group, I used to host a couple on the main exchange board of the DIS. Over there, I did a couple themed ones (favorite character, snack items, etc) that some of the husbands signed up for. But for the ones I've hosted here, it's only been for us ladies and sometimes the kids. (The Halloween one I host is adults and kids, too.)
I'm not sure there would be enough of the husbands here interested to include them. (Although if there was, I'd be happy to) But on the exchange board they do some fun ones for men, women and kids.

So, I should've known better than to think things could ever, even once, go smoothly for us. Noelle came home from school complaining of a headache and that she was freezing. Keep in mind it is NOT cold here. So I felt her head and sure enough, a fever. Unbelievable.

I'm just so upset right now. I made her tea, gave her Tylenol, vitamins, Airborne and sent her to bed. Guess we'll see what happens.

Yeah - Jen got in too!! First time I got in - looking forward to the Hot firefighters with my Tiffany necklace (my husband thinks that is the only reason I signed up!).

It's only been three days ... but please tell me it gets easier!

Evening gals!

Thanks Beth and Mel for the b-day wishes for Shelby!! Just got back from dinner at Red Robin. We usually take her to her fav place (Red Lobster) but this year it was just NOT in the budget. She was a good sport though and I feel really bad because we had a HORRIBLE waitress who kept forgetting everything and I thought at least Red Robin is famous for doing the whole birthday thing and then they didn't. I had to ASK just to get desert and then they didn't even bring a candle so she didn't even get happy birthday sung to her. I suppose we could have done it but without a candle to blow out it seemed kind of weird. I am just glad I have a cake ordered for this weekend! She really liked the little goody bag that I got her and the gifts my mom got her so that was good but I still felt really bad.

And then my doc apt was really weird. I had to have the nurse practitioner instead of my doc and she wasn't that great and kind of hurt me and then the WHOLE reason I went was to get my meds refilled and then she didn't even DO it! And then I wanted to have her check on the tumor I had last year and she didn't even do that either. She said if I wanted to pursue it I could try to get an ultrasound through radiological but I thought it was really unprofessional and I just felt the whole thing was not a good experience. I am just glad it is over although now I am going to have to call back and get them to refill my meds and I hope they don't give me any grief!!

Beth I said it on FB but I am sorry about Noelle and I hope she is better quick!!

Congrats to those doing the marathon!!

I am off to watcher survivor and Idol! Then tomorrow Katy has her orientation for jr high so I am anxious to see what is in store for that. Big changes ahead for her!!

Tonight I took my kids to Petroglyphs and we painted some goodies and then I took them out for 31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins. It was a great night with them. Because the school I teach at is in SAT week, my Friday classes were moved to Thursday so I get a three day weekend this weekend Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?

Beth I hope that Noelle is better this morning and no one else is ill!!

I don't have too much on for today except for Katy's deal tonight. Just looking forward to gettting through the week so we can get to the weekend and Shelby can meet with her friends and hopefully have a better experience.

Enjoyed Survivor and AI last night. Survivor was quite shocking with the twist and I can't even imagine what they are going to do on redemption with all those people but it shall be interesting I suppose It is definitely getting down to the wire and now that it is just the other team left I think it will be VERY interesting to see who turns on who!

And I enjoyed AI as well. It is really starting to get down to the people I like now so it is going to be hard watching people go home.

Good morning, ladies!!! It's Thursday! One day closer to the weekend.
Today I have tons to do. Finish up laundry and start packing for the trip, and then I am making cake balls and Oreo balls for a potluck at Ruben's work tomorrow. Plus a bunch of little things to do around the house. I'd better get my butt in gear!!

Chris, good for you for starting! Just taking that first step and getting going is sometimes the hardest, with anything in life. I'm proud of you and I am sure it will get easier and before you know it, you'll be running in half marathons with the rest of them!

Thanks, Kelly. I appreciate it. She is a bit better. The fever seems to have broke. She went to school today despite my offering to let her stay home, because she said she had some important work to do. So I hope that doesn't set back all the work I did yesterday plying her with chicken soup, tea and vitamins! We'll see.

I was out late last night and didn't get to see AI or Survivor yet. I have them on the DVR and now I can't wait to see what happened on Survivor! Is that awful Rob gone yet?? LOL

So am I the only one who could care less about the wedding Friday?? You'd think with all the hoopla that we were all british.....I just don't get.......it really doesn't mean anything to the americans does it??

AI was pretty good last night......haven't seen Survivor yet.....still need to watch Biggest Loser from Tuesday night & watch the 3 episodes of Deadliest Catch........lots on the DVR, just haven't had any interest in doing so.

Took 3 of the 4 kids to the doc yesterday.....Addy & Anthony are adding a stimulant to go along with their other ADD med & both are now on Prozac for anxiety. Michayla was put on Clonidine to see if we can get her to sleep thru the night. She was taking melatonin which would drop her for a couple hours & then she'd be up most the night, jumping on her sister's heads. Needless to say, none of us are sleeping good right now.....which could be causing my depression.

Naw, you're not alone. Heck, until you mentioned it I had no idea it was Friday. I just knew that it was "soonish". I'm more preoccupied with the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Round 2 starts tomorrow and I want to see my Sharks kick the patootie out of the Red Wings.

Actually--it's a moment in history, so yes, I am interested in it. I remember when Charles and Diana got married some people I worked with and I got up at like 4 a.m. and went to work to have tea and scones and watch the wedding. It was a lot of fun! Although the British monarchy does not play such an important role in policy in the UK anymore it is interesting to see what happens to them.
