Happy Easter Everyone!

I just finished laying everything out. My 10 yr old loves to help out now which is nice. I have to work 12- 5pm so our morning will be a little rushed but at least I won't miss dinner! My mom makes such a great turkey dinner:love:

Yummy - turkey dinner here too (but I'm cooking :thumbsup2)

All I need to know, I learned from the Easter Bunny!

* Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
* There's no such thing as too much candy.
* A cute tail attracts a lot of attention.
* Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
* Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
* Some body parts should be floppy.
* Good things come in small, sugar coated packages.
* The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.
* Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
* All work and no play can make you a basket case.
* Keep your paws off of other people's jelly beans.
* To show your true colors, you have to come out of the shell.
*The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!

Good morning and happy easter all!!

Beth your food looks wonderful as always!! Your family is so lucky to have you and I know they are going to have an amazing meal today thanks to you!!

Sounds like a lot of you have been having some fun this weekend!!

We dyed our eggs yesterday and did the speckled eggs as well. When I bought the dye I didn't realize it was not the usual dye in the cups but rather a new kind that you have to use these little sponges and kind of "blot" the dye on but the girls love to do artwork and the enjoyed it but I think they would rather go back to the old stuff next year LOL.

We have pretty much just been hanging out most of the weekend because A Shane is STILL off work and B the weather has just been ugly! Kind of makes it not too enticiing when it looks like winter still LOL.

And as I may have mentioned we used to always do a big family get together but lately that hasn't been happening and this time mom suggested rather than just us sitting around esp since we can't enjoy the nice weather that we do something. Either go for a drive or perhaps a river cats game but since the weather is kind of yucky she suggested maybe a movie. My girls really want to see that african cats movie but mom is afraid it might be sad (like the lions eating zebras or some of them being injured or something) so she didn't want to see it so we might go see Rango! :)

We have never done anything like that so it might be kind of fun and different.

The girls have already gotten their baskets from the easter bunny here and are very happy with what they got and of course grandma gets them stuff too so they are all excited!

Shane is the cook in our house so he is making a big breakfast and then we are headed to mom's.

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day!!

Happy Easter Ladies!!

Enjoy your day with loved ones & don't eat too much candy!! :rotfl:

Lisa are you flying into Portland or driving up?? If you drive, make a 5 minute stop in Salem & I'll meet ya to say hi!!!! :flower3:

Flying! I think it's cheaper than driving with the current gas prices! LOL

Sorry you can't make it Tracey! Thanks for the tips, I might take you up on those dining coupons.

Clackamas Town Center has changed so much. The ice rink is long gone. We used to watch Tanya Harding practice there before she became notorious. The mall has one of I think only two Disney Stores left in Oregon. The other one is at Washington Square on the west side where I NEVER go.

The only OR Mall I know is Lloyd Center. Where I am sure I will be at some point before the end of my visit.... LOL

Yay! I'm all caught up!

Happy Easter, Dis Peeps!

We are off to a champagne brunch up at Sudwerk Brewery in Folsom (YUM!). I anticipate being in a food coma for the rest of the day. LOL

Well hope everyone is having a hoppy Easter!

We went to church this morning then stopped and picked up croissants on the way home. Then Colton tore through his Easter Basket and hunted the eggs in the yard.

We made Egg Salad and put it on the croissants for lunch...Colton calls croissants "Shrimp Bread" because they are shaped like shrimp LOL it was yummy.

Now a little relaxing time before I start concocting Easter Dinner Hope everyone's Easter is going well....Oh BTW on a REALLY HAPPY note after church I got to put on shorts and flip flops to hunt eggs! It is amazing here today the sun is shining and it is a beautiful spring day!

I anticipate being in a food coma for the rest of the day. LOL
This would be a cute tag for you!! Too bad the tag fairy is avoiding us like the plague lately. :(

Anyway, just popping in to say hello  and I hope everyone is having as nice a day as we are here. :goodvibes

TTYL!! :hippie:

Have you seen that paint commercial where the Dad paints all the eggs camoflage and the kids can't find them? Well Colton wanted Camoflage eggs this year because of it.... so we hand colored every one with food safe markers...it was the only way we could figure out how to do it.... Sadly he loved this (and it did make the egg hunt more challenging) so I guess I will be doing this again next year...very time consuming.

Just got my Easter pic of my Granddaughters (my adult kids all got together in Arizona where they live) So here's KariLynn and Zoey

So, I am seriously annoyed right now. I decided to go online to check the weather for our trip which is one week from today, and try to get an idea of what the temps will be while we are there.

One website has Sunday, May 1st in San Diego as being a high of 76, which is pretty warm, close to 80 even.
Another website has Sunday, May 1st in San Diego as being a high of 63, which is actually kind of chilly.

I was like WTH???? A difference of 13 degrees posted for the same day??? How on earth is anyone supposed to plan on what to wear/pack????? Ugh. Anyway, that is just a real pet peeve of mine. I don't expect weather forecasting to be an exact science, but this is just stupid.

Okay, I feel better now. :teeth:

Hope everyone had a nice Easter ! We had a delish brunch and Rochelle stopped by to say hello.:)

Happy Late Easter Ladies, It took me an hour to catch up again! Hope everyone had a great weekend.
I know you can, I know you can! :cheer2:

Andrea, Where do you live in California? I live in Tulare. LOL....anyone know where that is?

Mell, I'm in San Dimas. the only thing it's known for is Bill & Ted's big adventure (and yes, most of it was filmed here..)lol I'm about 15 miles north of Anaheim.
I know where Tulare is- for some reason I've been sent up there for training more times than I can count. No offense, but I NEVER get to go to Vegas or any of those other fun places for training- I always get sent to Visalia or Fresno?!
Good Morning everyone!

I didn't sleep very well again last night. I am really tired of not sleeping well. I think I need to go buy new pillows but I keep forgetting until I go to bed again and then its too late!

I'm so excited for my Birthday trip. How many days do you think are too many for DL? I will be there June 6 - 11 with my best friend. And then 11-?? by myself (Still urging others to join me but we will see!) I'm debating staying till the 15th or 16th. The 14th is my birthday so want to stay till then. I'm just wondering if I will feel burned out by then?

Who else will be there in June? I would love to meet up. Kelly I know you will be there and we definitely need to set something up when our plans are more settled.
I used to have the worst time sleeping and thought it was my pillows but I realized I'm just a failure at sleeping lol. I take Melatonin now and it works really well, no matter what pillow I use.

I will be around in early June and would love to meet up!

For my suvivor/AI girls this was a fun week for sure. Wow Survivor was crazy this week eh??? Man Phillip is just OVER the top!! That guy is right up there with crazy Johnny (the guy who said his grandma died or whatever his name was) as a real loon! He is entertaining though! He reminds me a little of the guy with all the tatoos that thought he was a ninja from a few seasons back. Gosh what was his name??? He had long hair and he was in 2 seasons I think. Coach somebody I think. He was kinda crazy like that but I think Phillip even has him beat LOL.
I know nothing about AI but Survivor is still one of my go to shows. Phillip takes the CAKE! That guy is NUTS! and it drives me crazy how he says he's a federal agent and all that. But I love the wackadoodles on that show, it keeps me coming back for more!
I watched the Sonny and Cher show to :). Even then you could see she was a very good actress.

Oh wait I remember "The Wonderful World of Disney" Think it was Sunday night in our area. Mr. Walt was the MC. My family looked forward to it each week.

Have a great Disney Day.

Patty
I loved Sonny & Cher and I have several episodes of the World of Disney on DVD because they held such good memories for me!
I watched Dukes of Hazzard and Love, love, LOVED the Krofftt Super hour (squigman the seamonster or land of the lost anyone?) My secret crush was Grizzly Adams though, lol.

Here are my cupcakes unfrosted

OMGosh these look so yummy & pretty!

I felt that way with our Cruise this past Dec. I can tell you our weather down here has been bonkers, yesterday started out cold and drizzly, I got sunburned in the afternoon, and it rained at bedtime. I would guess the temp change was 15-20 degrees over the course of 12 hours- so the weather guy has his work cut out for him!

and finally a recap, we went out to the desert for a day of dirtbiking, Easter Bunny didn't get any complaints for his basket choices this year (I can't believe all 4 of them were totally happy with everything they got!!) and other then hubby getting called in to work today it was a pretty great weekend!

Back to work tomorrow morning (I usually work PT, I'm FT working to cover for maternity leave but 6 weeks has turned in to 16 and the boss just asked if I could cover her shift until August now), I hate to complain about work and $$ but GEEZ, working is really cramping my social life, not to mention my body just isn't loving the 12 hr shifts..
Happy Monday All!:grouphug:

San Diego weather can be iffy. Today is downright cold, light drizzle and very overcast. However, 5/1 is supposed to be sunny and 70. When there is sun, it will be nice usually.

When we go out to beaches, downtown or up to Anaheim I always carry a light jacket and hats. The sun here can really be intense when there isn't a cloud cover or fog so it can feel even warmer than it actually is;however, as soon as the sun goes down the humid weather makes it feel chilly and the winds usually pick up in the evening.

There are 3 different temps shown for San Diego and 4 if you include the desert climates. Coastal/beaches, inland, mountain and desert. Depending on the time of year these vary between hotter and cooler than each other. In the summer, the farther inland you go they usually get hotter; however, in the winter, the farther inland you go they usually are colder.

Some people find that the humidity makes them either feel hotter or chillier, just depends on you.

I love the cool ocean breezes and cherish the lack of hot, dry air. Likewise, I don't miss the rain.

Good luck and have fun!

Good morning, ladies!!!

Ugh, Monday again?? And school is back in session this week here. But the good news is, we only have to get through this week and then we are on vacation!! :cool1:

January, hope you and Maddie had a wonderful Easter. Was the Easter bunny good to her? :cutie:

Trudi, I love that picture! You look so pretty. :flower3: Glad Rochelle was able to join you. Hope it was a nice meal.

Andrea, your comment about Grizzly Adams being your secret crush cracked me up!! :rotfl2: I think he was one of the few I wasn't "boy crazy" over. Although now that you mention it, his beard was kinda hot..... :scratchin :p
Glad you had a fun Easter!! Hang in there with those long shifts.

Thank you for all that info. I appreciate it. I forget how big the San Diego area is, so it makes sense there would be many different forecasts depending on which part you are in. We'll be mainly in the Sea World/Mission Bay area. I'm hoping for mild temps. Low 70's would be nice, or even upper 60's. I prefer it a bit on the cooler side, but I guess we'll get what we get!
I will make sure to bring light jackets for everyone for the mornings and evenings, and sun block as well for midday. :thumbsup2

Well, time to get the twins ready for school. Have a great day everyone! TTYL!

Morning gals!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful easter!! Sounds so from those that have reported in!!

We had a really nice kickback day yesterday although I so know what you mean about the weather! I am SO ready for it to be warm! NOT hot mind you but just WARM! We have our first swim meet in 2 weeks and it can be miserable when it is cold!

The girls both had sundresses yesterday and I thought they would be pretty cold but they are kids so they did ok but it never did get "warm". I think the high yesterday was only in the high 60's.

My mom told me when I called that my 91 year old uncle wanted to come over so our movie idea was out but it was nice to see him. When we went to our old church we used to see him almost every weekend but neither one of us goes to that church anymore (long story) so now we only see him on holidays and not even then all the time because as I had mentioned the family has really gotten scattered to the winds and we rarely get together with everyone anymore like we used to. So it was nice to see him yesterday.

We did the egg hunt and Katy played chef and her and my mom made a fresh key lime pie and chocolate mousse pie from scratch that were really yum but WAY too rich! Then we stayed and watched Amazing Race. I was SO bummed about what happened to the cowboys for those who watch!

Now we are back to the craziness this week. Girls have to really focus on swim now as they have time trials in 2 weeks and Shelby's birthday is on Wednesday so my parents and us will be going to dinner for that. Then the next day we have to take Katy to her middle school orientation. Then on Saturday we are having a small get together with just some family friends for Shelby's birthday. And then on Sunday I told her she could invite 2 friends from school and we are going to go see a movie. So busy week! And then as I said the following Saturday is the meet and that Sunday is Mother's day and I spoke with mom and we are hoping to do something fun. We are talking about maybe making a picnic lunch and driving down to Napa (so hopefully the weather will be nice!) We will have to enjoy it too cuz right after that we start meets EVERY weekend. So I will be glad to enjoy that!

Anywho I am off to work today and piano and swim so my busy yucko day AND it's raining LOL. Hope everyone has a great day!!
