Good morning!

Hope everyone had wonderful Easter!

Our's was really nice. Went to church first thing in the morning. My two DDs Becky and Kaitlyn and son Beau sang in the choir. My other son Derrick was on percussion. I usually sing too, but this year I couldn't make practices. It was rather nice, just taking it in the music, verses presenting it. :goodvibes

Came home, and made hummus, pita chips and roasted red bell peppers. Yum! Dave made his award winning brisket and we took all over to our friends house for a big gathering and egg hunt. Had two egg hunts. One for all of the grandkids:cloud9: and money eggs for our older children. 18 of them, still young at heart, and running around. LOL! There were only 7 money eggs, and all four of my children found an egg. It was a Brinkman day! :rotfl:

Trudi, those cupcakes are cool. Kaitlyn has made the layered ones before. I need to show yours to her! Also love the picture of you, Sarah and Rochelle. What a nice time! :grouphug:

Andrea, No offense taken about my area. It's flat farm ground around here. :rolleyes1 I will say that the Sierras are beautiful to look at from our house, and that visiting So Cal, Nor Cal, the beach and mountains are convenient for us. We are practically right in the middle of everything. Maybe that is why Visalia and Fresno are picked for your training. :confused3

Beth, San Diego is fast approaching! I'm sure your weather will be perfect! :cloud9: What do you have planned?

Sherri, Your granddaughters are adorable. I'm sure you miss them.

Lisa, Being from Sacramento, you would know where I live.:) Do you usually take the the 5 or 99 down south? How is Trish? Tell her to come and chat some time. :thumbsup2

Happy Monday! :flower3:

Good Morning Everyone!

Beth... it's my Friday so I'm not complaining!! I could have worked a double shift today which would have helped $$ wise but I just can't handle working night shift and then days. I have no problem going in early and doing eve's - nights but nights to days is just way to difficult on me!

6 weeks till I go to DL for my birthday trip!!

I am SOOOO glad I was OCD about checking the AP website for the PPH! I was able to snag it at the original sale rates and now it is showing as NA again for standard rooms and $500 more for the Upper Theme Park View rooms! I would not be staying on-site if I had to pay that much more!

I'm SO excited for my trip! Everyone I work with cannot understand wanting to spend more than a few days there so when I say I may be there for 8-10 days they are just in shock! What can I say. I LOVE DL! And there is still so much I haven't done. Like Billy Hill & the Hillbillies!!

I've been thinking that some ladies are MIA.
Where is Jodi??? Anybody hear from her?
I hope she is OK!

Morning gals!!

Now we are back to the craziness this week. Girls have to really focus on swim now as they have time trials in 2 weeks and Shelby's birthday is on Wednesday so my parents and us will be going to dinner for that. Then the next day we have to take Katy to her middle school orientation. Then on Saturday we are having a small get together with just some family friends for Shelby's birthday. And then on Sunday I told her she could invite 2 friends from school and we are going to go see a movie. So busy week! And then as I said the following Saturday is the meet and that Sunday is Mother's day and I spoke with mom and we are hoping to do something fun. We are talking about maybe making a picnic lunch and driving down to Napa (so hopefully the weather will be nice!) We will have to enjoy it too cuz right after that we start meets EVERY weekend. So I will be glad to enjoy that!

Anywho I am off to work today and piano and swim so my busy yucko day AND it's raining LOL. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Wow, I think you are my long lost twin- that sounds like a typical week here! My 11 yr old swims, my 6 yr old just started (and my other two get forced to join the summer team so that they aren't laying around all summer and I get a couple hrs of peace!). She's only been swimming competitively for a little less than a year but she's holding her own. My 6 year old pretty much drowns her way across the pool...:lmao:

Jen, I am so sorry for you and your son.
This happens way to often. My heart breaks for your son. I hope there is another man in your sons life. Anyone can be a father but it takes a real man to be a daddy. This makes being a mommy so much harder.

Patty~ Thanks for the kind words. My husband has been wonderful with my older son. He is steady and constant and loving. Next weekend my son's grandma will be picking him up and taking him to the zoo, hopefully with his dad in tow, but we will see...

Easter went well yesterday :) The kids enjoyed their baskets, although Brydon found his basket before he even noticed the first clue sitting on the fireplace. :rotfl: Oh well! It sounds like everyone else had a nice Easter too.

Oh! Funniest thing...so yesterday before dinner, my dad took 30 eggs out and hid them all over a section of his field (He lives on several acres). As we get out there for the kids to hunt, a crow swept down and stole one of the eggs! Off he flew red egg in beak :lmao: 29 eggs left...as the boys searched we found the broken remenents of 2 more eggs. Looks like the crow was a cannibal!

Lisa--I love that smiley!

We had fun yesterday too--Linda came and we got together with my friends Brandy and Scott and some of their family at a restaurant for brunch, then we went back to Brandy's for an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt. Prizes were money ($.25, $1.00, $5.00), food (trail mix bars, candy, peeps, bags of candy, etc), 12-packs of soda, a case of water, a kite, a book and some other things. We had fun! (although my book got taken away--boo--if you found a silver or gold egg you could "steal")

We were all in food comas too.

Now back to reality!

Hope everyone's doing well. Trudi where did you have brunch?

Good afternoon ladies! Wow, it's been a while since I've been able to read or post.

... I hate to complain about work and $$ but GEEZ, working is really cramping my social life, not to mention my body just isn't loving the 12 hr shifts..Happy Monday All!
I hear you Andrea! Last week (and this week so far) sucked work-wise. ALL of our 1,000+ PCs got hammered by a bunch of nasty worms/viruses. :scared1: We made the local newspapers and the regional radio & TV news: Computer worm shuts down county computers. I'm in IT, so I've been working loooong hours everyday trying to get us up and running again. Over 70 hrs last week alone. Ugh!

Public Service Announcement: Keep your anti-virus software up to date and do not click on links that you don't know and trust!

Trudi- Yikes! That is not a good pic of me :scared1: lol. It rained earlier in the morning and it turned my hair frizzy. :P It was good seeing you you and Sarah yesterday :)

I just saw them for about 5 minutes and had to go but it was cool that they were closeby to where I was :)

Just wanted to pop in and say hi!

I hope you all had a Happy Easter! :goodvibes

My spring break is over so now it's back to doing lots of homework and sitting in uncomfortable chairs for three hours every night. *sigh* Only one month until the semester is over though, yay!

Have a super duper day, everyone!

I think my IT people consider me job security...They can always count on me to get them some OT ;)

Then we stayed and watched Amazing Race. I was SO bummed about what happened to the cowboys for those who watch!
I was so bummed too! Who are you rooting for?

Good Morning!
Hi Sarah!

Beth, San Diego is fast approaching! I'm sure your weather will be perfect! :cloud9: What do you have planned?
We'll be doing 3 days at Sea World, 1 day at the Wild Animal park, and then some little things like museums, Point Loma, etc. Should be fun!!
Glad to hear you had a fun Easter. :)

You're gonna have a blast!! It's a long time, but I know you'll find fun things to do.
Enjoy "your Friday".

I shouldn't laugh, but that totally cracked me up!! :lmao:

The kids enjoyed their baskets, although Brydon found his basket before he even noticed the first clue sitting on the fireplace. :rotfl: Oh well!
:rotfl2: He's a sneaky one!

Oh man, that sucks!!

Oh hush, you always look cute!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi!
Hi Wendall. Hope the next month goes quickly for you.

Happy Monday ladies! Just got back from my dentist for a cleaning. They now have this mouth rinse that helps numb your gums so you don't feel the poking they do when they clean - I highly recommend it!

We had a great easter with lots of friends. Egg hunts for both the young and older kids. One of my friends made a great cocktail - Pimm's Cup - said with a British accent! A group of us ladies had gone to England last year and feel in love with the drink. The name is so fun to say!!! Very light and refreshing. Everyone else brought food and we ate tons! Brought our golden who played with their 2 new puppies - ridgeback mixes. The kids all got bubble wands and were making bubbles while the dogs chased and popped them!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Beth, You should look at the Snore & Roar for the night before the Wild Animal Park it is a BLAST! Worth every penny..

I would second this--I clicked on what was supposed to be a Disney site (not owned by Disney) and got a nasty virus that would NOT go away. Just last week my IT guy had to wipe my hard drive and re-install the operating system, etc. Glad it was at home and not the office!

Bridget: I just heard about a Pimm's Cup a couple of months ago--need to try it.

And LOL--when I read the last sentence I thought you wrote the dogs chased and (next word but with two O's) and I thought "so the dogs were eating the bubbles and then it came out the other end?" Then I re-read it . . . .

So now that I figured out how to post pics again, thought I'd share some of my family and garden.

Here is some pics taken a couple of weeks ago.

This is our pond that we built years ago. Decided after all these years, to put some more grass in up to it.

Here is picture of my son Derrick and grandson Aston in front of the dirt track that was made for the birthday party.

One of our shop cleared out for the party.

This is Kaitlyn, Rowen, Aston and Reese having a picnic the other day. The kid's new puppy Dash is in Kaitlyn's arms. He is a Weimaraner puppy. So cute!

IMG_2651.jpg

Ok, that should do it for now. See what happens when someone re-learns a new trick. LOL!

Bridget, My DD Becky and SIL Nick have a Rodesian Ridgeback puppy! (Excuse the spelling?)

Evening ladies.

Mel I LOVE your flowers and garden!! Gorgeous!! I am SO not a gardner! I have a few little potted plants around the tree in my backyard and am lucky to not kill them (have tried a few times but managed to bring them back) but yours is beautiful!!

Love the pics of the grandbabies too! Cute!

Andrea LOL yes I am sure you can relate to the swim then!! We have been doing sports for 8 years and swim for 4. Done soccer for 8 and swim for 4 as I said but swim is definitely the most intense and I had to laugh when you talked about making the others do it to keep them busy. That is kind of how my younger one got into it. I started my kids in swim lessons at 2 because I nearly drowned in the river at 16 and am still scared to death of water and did NOT want my kids afraid of water or not good swimmers so they took lessons and that lead to swim team and my oldest is REALLY good at it but my youngest just does it to keep her occupied LOL. And I too laughed at the drowing remark. I have seen plenty kiddos doing that. But he/she will get there!! ;)

I ended up not going in to work today. I have had a nasty headache for about a week now and I was up most of the night with it so I just couldn't deal with work today. I took the girls to school and picked them up but my dad ended up taking Shelby to piano thank goodness and of course Shane took them to swim so I am glad for that. I just hope I am better in a few more days because I have a doc apt on Wed and then of course it is shelby's b-day so I need to be better for those and I am going to attempt to go in to work tomorrow.

If I don't feel better soon though I am going to have to make another apt with my neuro I think. I never DID get any new meds for my migraines when my ins didn't cover the injectible meds. Up till recently I have been doing pretty well and just having a few headaches and mostly excedrin was taking care of it but lately they have been getting worse so I may need to break down and go in. BLEH! I have been having a good run of not having to go to the doc in a while so I was hoping to not have to LOL.

Anyway I think I am going to hit the sack early since I didn't get much sleep last night.

Hope everyone has a good evening!!
