Good morning!

I just signed up for the 1st Ever Tinkerbell Half Marathon at Disneyland in January 2012!

There is one more race I want to do in October but it is the morning of the day we leave for our cruise. I'm still trying to figure out if I'll be able to swing that one. It's in Los Angeles so DBF and I would stay in LA Saturday night, then I would run (I think the race starts at 6:30am) then go back to the hotel, shower and then hit the road for Long Beach to board the ship at 12:30pm. It could work but I don't know if I want to be rushed that day. :confused3

Good morning everyone! I am SO tired! I didn't sleep well yesterday. First I had trouble falling asleep and then once I was finally asleep I only slept for about 3.5 hours before I woke to see I had a message from my best friend saying she could do the Flight to SNA on June 6th that was at a lower cost so I wanted to get that booked! After that I couldn't fall back asleep.

I'm so excited! It's official I get to go to Disneyland with my best friend!

She will be there June 6 - 11th or 12th. We only booked the outgoing flight and am waiting for lower prices for the flight for her to get back home.

I'm still deciding on if I will stay at Disneyland after she leaves but I am leaning towards staying till the 15th so I get to spend my Birthday at Disneyland.

If anyone wants to join me just let me know!

I've been working on finishing up my December trip report so I can get started on my PTR! I'm almost done with it....

Hi gals :)

I saw this pic from the recent MouseAdventure and thought I would post of our fellow Divas:

Nice !!!! Good job !!!

Are you not on my facebook? I have them all posted there. Here they are:

There is one more session, on the 28th and then I will be finished with this one.
clippership.jpg

This is my mini clipper ship we entered in the contest.

I started getting them because you know the band Good Charlotte who wrote the song "Little Things"? I went to a concert of theirs years and years ago and had the opportunity to meet them and spend time with them. Benji told me how he loved girls with tattoos and since I was besotted I had the swallow from their album tattooed on my back. That led to a love of traditional style tattoos. I have around 20 tattoos and am planning many more.
Hi Jen, I am on your Facebook. I'll have to go check them out. These are very cool. I love the clipper! I can't believe you have so many tatts! LOL I guess you handle pain well.
Do you get a deal on yours? I went to a tattoo parlor once here on the Strip and all I wanted was a small black heart with barbed wire around it, but they told me it would be $200! I thought that was a bit too much.....

Today was super busy at work. I am glad I am home resting. Watching DWTS. Americana Week doesn't seem to mesh well with ballroom dancing. Everyone had been "meh" so far.
Hi Linda! We were out last night so we missed it. I'll have to go watch it now.

I'm shooting for a cabin with a veranda..... Hey, he's got a whole year before we have to buy the tickets to save.... LOL
Exactly, Lisa! If you're gonna go, might as well go big! :thumbsup2

As we stood in the dressing room trying on the bazillionth dress, one of the girls said, "the guys have it so easy. You pick a tux out of a book, they get measured and they're DONE. Why can't we do that?". Blink. Blink. Why not? So our moms made turquoise skirts for the girls, they all wore black pumps and we went to the tux place and got the same jackets and shirts that the guys were wearing, but with the "tails". Best part? WE DIDN'T TELL DH. The first he knew was when his youngest sister started down the aisle. BWA HA HA! I told a friend of mine, "When the music starts, DO NOT take a pic of Barb, GET A PIC OF RUSS' FACE". She knew why, and it was PRICELESS.
:rotfl: Clever!!

My family met my middle daughters fiancee's family yesterday and we all got along great. Wedding planning is all new to me. I can't believe how much it cost for a hall, and I'm not talking the Ritz here. Luckily she doesn't want anything fancy scamcy but even a basic nice place for an outdoor wedding and indoor reception cost bundles !:scared1:
Hi Trudi! Yay for getting along with the future in-laws! Weddings are crazy expensive. Some of the wedding dresses along can run between $5,000 and $10,000!!! EEK!!
I am going to coax my girls to go with a simple theme wedding. Maybe something on the beach, barefoot, with a simple white dress. We'll see if that works. lol

Spending time on the DIS Cruise threads learning about cruising - can't wait for that. There is a sad thread right now titled "Heartbroken" about a family who missed their cruise yesterday morning because of all the bad weather on the east coast on Saturday - their flight was canceled and no other flights were available. Feel really bad for them - cruises are paid in full and non-refundable.:sad2:
Hi Becci! Oh man, that would suck so much!!! What a nightmare.

Hi MJ! Good to see you here. Thanks for sharing. What a great photo. Way to go Divas!!! You kicked butt!!!! :cool1:

Beth I am glad you are going to get another shot or I should said DID get another shot out with Ruben. I hope you had fun!!
We did. :) Thanks, Kelly.

It's very hard to find one but my sister was convinced that strapless is the most flattering on any size. I'm living proof that it's not true:sad2:
What??? Strapless the most flattering? Um, no. There is no way on this earth you could pay me to wear anything strapless in public. It seems to be all the rage now in wedding party dresses and it is not for everyone. Okay, well, I should say it's not for me!

Hey girls!
Just a quick hello

Worked 7 days in a row. Blah and this is my only day off until Easter so I have tons of errands to run

Have a wonderful week!
Hey January! Sounds like you are very busy! Hope things slow down for you a bit. Is Maddie excited about the Easter bunny? Does she still get dressed up?

Thanks for the support girls, my confidence was just in no way ready to handle that. I was the only one that couldn't try on the sample because I was too big. :sad2: This is the dress she chose:

It's a cute style. In fact, Noelle and I just got back from Kohls where she bought something very similar!

This is what she bought:
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/jun...84924/Mudd+Smocked+Convertible+Maxi+Dress.jsp
It was $40 on sale for $19 and I had an extra 30% off coupon! It'll be great for summer.

Is this wedding outdoors by any chance?

Quiet Day around here! I want to be outside starting the garden! But too much snow! We had that beautiful 2 days where all but a 2ft by 3ft patch of snow was left in the yard and only snow around the edges of the pasture and I began to think spring was really here then BOOM we were buried again!
Hi Sherri! I can't believe you are still getting snow! Wow. I hope it all goes away and Easter is lovely for you.
Okay, I have to ask, what a Mickey fish??

Good morning!

Hi Sarah! I knew you would!! LOL You go girl!! :woohoo:

I'm so excited! It's official I get to go to Disneyland with my best friend!
YAY!!!!! :yay: :woohoo: I am so happy for you, Paula. It's going to be great.

Nice !!!! Good job !!!

Thanks, Trudi!!

Have you tried to delete the link to the pictures in your signature, save that signature, then get the link again from Photobucket (or was it Shutterfly) and edit your signature to add the new link? Sometimes that works.

It helps to have your mind ready and a little ibprofin helps too! Everything in Vegas is more expensive. Stay away from touristy areas since artists there are often overpriced and not very good. Since I am loyal to my artist and send him clients, I get a huge price break, and so do my friends that I send.

:banana:Yay for our Divas!!!:cheer2:

Afternoon all!

Just got back from seeing Rio with mom and the girls. It was REALLY good! If anyone is thinking about seeing it I recommend it!!

Congrats to the Diva team on MA!! That is awesome!!

Wendy I think that dress is pretty are they going with that color or a different one? I agree though that for me anyway I wouldn't want strapless either. I have HUGE arms and it is NOT attractive. I need SOME kind of sleeve! I too had two larger bridesmaids and one really thin one and the thin one wanted this little dinky cocktail type dress and I was like sorry NO I wanted all my girls to feel comfortable and in fact I told them that other than the color I would let THEM decide on a dress that looked the best on ALL of them. I agree with the other gals though that you are a beautiful girl and I am positive you will look gorgeous no matter what!

Paula congrats on getting your trip firmed up and I don't know if you remember but we will be there starting on the 12th and through the 18th so you are more than welcome to hang with us for part of the time if you like. And as I mentioned before I know that Michelle (zoemakes5) had orig said she wanted to come down as well. We haven't talked in awhile so I am not sure when she wanted to come but if she came there would be more than just us to hang with so you wouldn't have to feel like it was "just us" but more of a group. But anyway you can think about it and decide. It's an option. :)

Anyway glad to be home and going to go rustle up some grub and then the girls are off to swim.

Have a nice evening all!

Here is a pic from this weekend a mere 12 hours after I had been working in my snow free flower beds...

And here are a couple of Mickey Mouse fish. We breed them in 4 colors for a couple of local pet stores...and hey no Disney royalties this is mother nature's copyright.

Hey WDW experts! A friend is looking to go to WDW for the first time in August. She is looking at the Hilton and was told it was "close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios". Now I know "close" is relative in WDW but would you recommend staying at the Hilton?? Or is it too far off the beaten track?

Thanks Divas!

I don't even know where the Hilton is? Is there no way she can stay on property for a similar price--maybe at a value or moderate?

It is in DTD - and while it is not owned by Disney is considered a Disney hotel for the amenities - early entry, etc. I looked at a map and to me, it doesn't seem like a good location but I have never been to WDW.

No way would she want a dress that expensive, that's just nuts isn't it? She doesn't want anything over the top, but just a nice place for an outdoor wedding with the reception in the same place. We don't want the guests to have to drive to another location for the reception. I have a feeling it's going to take a lot of searching.
Thanks, Trudi!!

The whole problem is with Photobucket. I can't get to my account because they keep saying they are doing site maintence, and [/I] I'm in the 1% of people being affected. They just keep saying that they're working on it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I love those fish ! Is that their real name? I just might have to get back into fish after swearing I'd never have a tank again.

Jen, that's good you can get a decent price. I figured that price they quoted me was the "rip off the tourist" price, so I didn't get it. Maybe one day. :)

Kelly, glad to hear you liked the movie! popcorn::

Sherri, those fish are so neat! I love it. Can't say the same for the snow though. ;)

Bridget, maybe ask about the Hilton on the WDW hotels board. :confused3 Or read some reviews on tripadvisor. I love that website for hotel info. Good luck!!

I am sooooooo sleepy. It's only 8:30 and I am ready for bed.

Yep, it's just nuts. I don't see the point in that even if you have the money. But I'm cheap like that!! LOL
We had an outdoor wedding, with our reception in a building on the same property so no one had to drive, and loved it. Simple but nice. Nothing fancy. I didn't want a church wedding.

In fact, instead of a limo as our get away car, we used Ruben's jeep. Just took the top off, decorated it with a bunch of ribbons and balloons and had a blast driving through town like that. People were honking and clapping as we drove by and it was sooo much more fun than a stuffy limo. For us anyway. :)

How far is too far for a wedding location? I can send you the link to where we got married if you want. It might not be her taste, but you can check it out. :confused3 It's in the Los Angeles area, near Dodger's Stadium. They have an outdoor ceremony area, and inside a room for a reception and there's a kitchen too for catering. Let me know if you want it.
It was really pretty when we used it, and not too pricey. Of course, that was in 1993. :rotfl:

Here is one pic from the outdoor area, we took our photos here:

To all you runners:worship:
I have just started walking/hiking (easy trails) 3 miles to get back into shape to hike up the trail I use to do every Sunday morning.

and guess what? Our Divine Divas (Stacie, Vicki, Heather and Christine) came in 11TH in MouseAdventure Luau!
When I first heard about MouseAdventure I looked it up that sounds like so much fun. Way to go Divine Divas

After all the talk about the dress I went to the first page to see your picture i think you will look beautiful in the dress. I think some girls can be too skinny and that doesn't look as good as someone with more curves.

Love your tattoos I have always wanted one and have designs in mind. There are so many places around here it is hard to know where to go. My cousin got one a year ago and already had to get it touched up. Maybe one day but I am afraid once I get one I will want more.

Thanks Divas!
The Hilton is on Disney property near Downtown Disney. They have free transportation to all the parks (separate from the Disney-operated buses) and offer Extra Magic Hours. "Close" in this case means a short bus ride. Personally I prefer the Disney owned resorts but the DTD hotels are a good alternative. Hilton is the only one of those that offers the EMH.
