I'm so excited! It's official I get to go to Disneyland with my best friend!

She will be there June 6 - 11th or 12th. We only booked the outgoing flight and am waiting for lower prices for the flight for her to get back home.

I'm still deciding on if I will stay at Disneyland after she leaves but I am leaning towards staying till the 15th so I get to spend my Birthday at Disneyland.

If anyone wants to join me just let me know!

Paula so excited for you and your upcoming trip:cheer2:
if you are there on the sunday the 12 maybe we can meet up.

Monica

I love those fish ! Is that their real name? I just might have to get back into fish after swearing I'd never have a tank again.

Real name is "Mickey Mouse Platy" not their scientific name or anything but what pet stores label them as, They are really cool and pretty low maintenance. I breed them and fancy guppies and Mollys for local pet stores and take store credit for them so the fish earn enough money to feed the dogs, cats, chinchillas and themselves.

Yep, it's just nuts. I don't see the point in that even if you have the money. But I'm cheap like that!! LOL
We had an outdoor wedding, with our reception in a building on the same property so no one had to drive, and loved it. Simple but nice. Nothing fancy. I didn't want a church wedding.

In fact, instead of a limo as our get away car, we used Ruben's jeep. Just took the top off, decorated it with a bunch of ribbons and balloons and had a blast driving through town like that. People were honking and clapping as we drove by and it was sooo much more fun than a stuffy limo. For us anyway. :)

How far is too far for a wedding location? I can send you the link to where we got married if you want. It might not be her taste, but you can check it out. :confused3 It's in the Los Angeles area, near Dodger's Stadium. They have an outdoor ceremony area, and inside a room for a reception and there's a kitchen too for catering. Let me know if you want it.
It was really pretty when we used it, and not too pricey. Of course, that was in 1993. :rotfl:

Here is one pic from the outdoor area, we took our photos here:

Simple but nice is exactly what we have in mind.
I agree about even having money it's just a waste to over spend. Call me cheap too !
We've been looking at places in the Valley, maybe Burbank area. Yes, please send the link. That looks like a beautiful place.
Limo? Oh that's certainly not on the list. We'd like a place that allows outside catereing to be brought in. Most places have the typical food, a meat, rice, veggie, salad and a roll. Boring !
She thought Mexican food would be good, everyone likes it's and it a bit cheaper.

Trudi~ Did I miss that Sarah is getting married?!
We did BBQ for our wedding and it ended up running $12 a plate - and by far the best food we have ever had at a wedding. Tri tip and bbq chicken, salad, potatoes, rolls, etc. Yum!

It's not Sarah but her younger sister.
BBQ is a great idea, I'll pass the info along. Hey maybe we can have it at Big Thunder Ranch. :rotfl: Of course everyone would have to pay their own way in and I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen !

Good morning, ladies!! Happy Hump Day!
I can't believe the kids are already half way through their spring break. It's going by so fast. It's been fun so far though. Ruben's back at work, and his parents are supposed to head back to CA today. Guess the kids and I will just be hanging out. :)

To all you runners:worship:
I have just started walking/hiking (easy trails) 3 miles to get back into shape to hike up the trail I use to do every Sunday morning.
That's pretty good, Monica. 3 miles is nothing to turn your nose up at. I don't think I could even do that much! So, good job! :thumbsup2

How neat! And yay for store credit......especially with as many animals as you care for. lol
By the way, speaking of snow last night, my mom who lives in MI called me and said she was stuck at work. They had so much snow she couldn't even get out to drive home and was forced to spend the night. What's with all this late snow fall??? Doesn't Mother Nature know it's mid-April! :rotfl:

Mmmm. I'd be happy with that. :thumbsup2 My uncle did catering at the time, so he did the food for my reception and it was on problem to bring in outside food, drinks, or cake. I'll send you some info now.

That sounds so good! I like a fun, casual wedding, even more so if it has a theme. I really wish I'd stuck with a Halloween theme for my wedding. LOL But my in-laws might not have shown up if I did that. :rolleyes1

Hi Girls
For all you runners out there I'm *thinking* about signing up for the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon. The only problem is - I've never run in my life. Never. Ever.
Is this something doable for a total newbie? It's seems like enough time to train, since it's in January of next year - but a 1/2 is 13 miles and that seems sooo far.
Tell me your training secrets, your get in shape regimen - whatever it is that helps you keep going, and maybe you'll see me there come January. (Yes, I'd really rather do the 5K, but I can't because I work on Saturday mornings. :( so it's the 1/2 or nothing for me. )

For the Divas going Oct 21.......how early are you going to be at DL?? Are you coming in the evening of the 20th or later on the 21st?? Just asking cause we might be there, but leaving that day.

Laurie: we are checking in that day (and it's a work day) so it will probably be later . . . .

There are many sites with info for newbies. I was never able to run, not even back in school when we had track. I was always the last one in.

No fair posting about Mexican food and BBQ! I'm soo hungry now.

I just signed up for the 1st Ever Tinkerbell Half Marathon at Disneyland in January 2012!

 I hope to see ya there!

I'm so excited! It's official I get to go to Disneyland with my best friend!

:banana: That's great! I love going to Disneyland with my best friend!

What??? Strapless the most flattering? Um, no. There is no way on this earth you could pay me to wear anything strapless in public. It seems to be all the rage now in wedding party dresses and it is not for everyone. Okay, well, I should say it's not for me!

It's not for me either! Especially since I have psoriasis on my arms. :headache: My mom told me to just put makeup on it, but I don't see the point, it would be like putting makeup on a scab.

It's a cute style. In fact, Noelle and I just got back from Kohls where she bought something very similar!

This is what she bought:
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/jun...84924/Mudd+Smocked+Convertible+Maxi+Dress.jsp
It was $40 on sale for $19 and I had an extra 30% off coupon! It'll be great for summer.

Is this wedding outdoors by any chance?

That's cute! I bet it looks great on her. :thumbsup2 Can't beat that price either. The dress I get to wear is $150 +tax. Luckily the father of the bride is buying them for us.

I don't know if it will indoors or outdoors. This is the venue: http://www.jeffersonstreetmansion.com/

Wendy I think that dress is pretty are they going with that color or a different one? I agree though that for me anyway I wouldn't want strapless either. I have HUGE arms and it is NOT attractive. I need SOME kind of sleeve! I too had two larger bridesmaids and one really thin one and the thin one wanted this little dinky cocktail type dress and I was like sorry NO I wanted all my girls to feel comfortable and in fact I told them that other than the color I would let THEM decide on a dress that looked the best on ALL of them. I agree with the other gals though that you are a beautiful girl and I am positive you will look gorgeous no matter what!

That's the color(s) we're getting. The bride is a huge Tiffany's fan. She wanted us to all be comfortable, but I wasn't going be the one to make things complicated. Hopefully I can tone up some before the wedding...luckily it's not until next year.

When I first heard about MouseAdventure I looked it up that sounds like so much fun. Way to go Divine Divas

After all the talk about the dress I went to the first page to see your picture i think you will look beautiful in the dress. I think some girls can be too skinny and that doesn't look as good as someone with more curves.

Thanks, Monica. I guess I wont know the final result until the dress comes in, seeing as I couldn't fit into their sample dress. :snooty:

I do hikes on Saturday mornings with my cousin. It's nice to get out there and move.

Mouse Adventure is a lot of fun, and can also be very stressful. :rotfl2:

That's awesome that you breed them like that!

Go for it! Never think that you can't do it. Anybody can do it, they just need the right attitude!

Hi Ladies!

Wendy, You will look beautiful in that dress. :cutie: I mean it!

Divine Divas, Wow....your place was absolutely fantasic! Way to go!! :cheer2:

Trudi, Good luck on the "venue" search. It took us quite a bit of looking around to find something for Becky. I know your DD wants it simple, but does she have a look she is going for? Traditional, modern, Transitional, old world, country, Victorian.....? I have some inexpensive ideas for arrangements, if you need some. Believe me....we cut every corner possible!

I know I was going to say much more, but forgot what. LOL. :upsidedow

Wendy, Would the bride ever consider having bridal party stay within the color scheme but let each girl pick a different style dress. Most bridal shops carry different styles in same colors as others dresses. I have been to weddings that bridesmaids were able to do this and EVERYONE looked great. The bride did have final say. It appeared that a veto was not needed each dress chosen looked wonderful on the brides wedding party. Honestly it was very eye appealing to guests. I did not hear one guest think it was odd. They actually liked the idea.

Just my nickels worth. ( I talked to much for just my .02) :).

That place looks really nice and those are good prices for the amount and variety of food. If we could find something like that we'd take it.

She had no desired theme or even color scheme. She's so easy going. We plan on making the table arrangements and possibly the bouquets. We're going to be cutting every corner too ! As soon as a venue is picked I'll let you know and you can send me some ideas.:goodvibes
But I know something as simple as few flowers and greenery in a vase for each table would suit her just fine and we already talked about getting flowers/roses from Costco.

Hi ladies! Hope you all had a great day. :)
Looking forward to watching AI and having a kick back night! I'm so happy there is no homework to deal with this week. :)

That's what we did for my daughter's wedding. We picked out 3 or 4 options and let each girl choose which dress they wanted, all in the same color. It turned out that only the maid of honor wanted a different style so that worked out well and set her apart.

I don't even know where the Hilton is? Is there no way she can stay on property for a similar price--maybe at a value or moderate?

The Hilton is on Disney property near Downtown Disney. They have free transportation to all the parks (separate from the Disney-operated buses) and offer Extra Magic Hours. "Close" in this case means a short bus ride. Personally I prefer the Disney owned resorts but the DTD hotels are a good alternative. Hilton is the only one of those that offers the EMH.

Morning ladies! I convinced her to change hotels. Since Epcot and Hollywood Studios were a priority, we choose Beach Club Resort. And I say we because I decided to go with also!! My first time to WDW ever! Funny thing is that I will be going to DL the week after I get back. 2 Parks within one week - yeah!!

My son had a tropical fish tank for about 10 years and the Mickey platys were our favorites! Best hidden Mickey ever!

And Wendy - you will look mahvelous!!! (I'm dating myself to see if anyone remembers SNL with Billy Crystal!)

Have a great day ladies!

That's a good idea. I like that. I've seen wedding shows on t.v where they've done that and it still looks very unified, and yet allows everyone to feel comfortable and be happy.

Thanks for the link!
"I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!" Now I just need to start.
I know you can, I know you can!! :cheer2:

Yay!! How exciting!! :cool1:  Now you sound like Stacie with the two parks in one week theme. :rotfl:
