"Diva" Trip - "Cliff Notes" p.236 OLD THREAD!

On that note do people wear the LGMH when they go to disneyland. I came across a thread that talked about them and then went to home depot to get some. I made them and I'm going to put it on my bag I carry.

Went out to karaoke Saturday night & my hubby says I'm a pro now.......I got "paid" for singing......lol After I sang My Immortal (Evanescence), a young hottie came up & thanked me for singing it & how great it was, yada yada yada & then he bought me a drink!! lol Gosh, it was pretty funny but grrrrrrrrrrrr (in a good way) I was a bit pink in the cheeks.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was kinda depressing, I went bridesmaid dress shopping and it turns out that I'm the only bridesmaid that isn't a size 2. So now I'm gonna look like a whale in my dress while everyone else looks like a model. Oh well.

When DH and I got married, my bridesmaids were our 3 sisters. His youngest sister was a size 4. My sis was a 12 and his other sis was a 14 or 16. Try finding a dress that looks good on a size 4 and a 14.

As we stood in the dressing room trying on the bazillionth dress, one of the girls said, "the guys have it so easy. You pick a tux out of a book, they get measured and they're DONE. Why can't we do that?". Blink. Blink. Why not? So our moms made turquoise skirts for the girls, they all wore black pumps and we went to the tux place and got the same jackets and shirts that the guys were wearing, but with the "tails". Best part? WE DIDN'T TELL DH. The first he knew was when his youngest sister started down the aisle. BWA HA HA! I told a friend of mine, "When the music starts, DO NOT take a pic of Barb, GET A PIC OF RUSS' FACE". She knew why, and it was PRICELESS.

Ooo! That reminds me! SIL is looking for a Disney license plate frame. I don't recall seeing it at the parks, but then, I wasn't looking either. Does anyone know if the frame that says "Faith, trust and Pixie Dust" is something that is currently available? Let me know.... Thanks!

My DH is chomping at the bit to go on a cruise. I told him for my 50th bday (gulp) that I wanted to either do a Disney Cruise or a MINIMUM of 3 nights at the Grand Californian. He didn't even blink and said "CRUISE". Doesn't hurt that it will also be our 20th wedding anniversary that year.

I looked at pricing and what not for the 2012 cruise. It actually sails right around our anniversary. I'm shooting for a cabin with a veranda..... Hey, he's got a whole year before we have to buy the tickets to save.... LOL

Lisa, you will LOVE a Disney Cruise! We have been on three and hoping to book a fourth in 2012 or 2013. What a lovely way to celebrate your 50th Bday and 20th Anniversary (DH & I celebrated both last year).

Yes, Go You! Let me know if you find one - I would love a license plate frame like that too. I love that song "I Try" where she sings about "Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust". It's on one of my Disney DVD's. I just played it in the car today.

and I for one don't think size has anything to do with how good you look in a dress. I'd rather look like Kirsty Ally then a skinny crack ho anyday, I'm sure you'll be beautiful!

I've always liked Kirstie and thought she looked good tonight on DWTS.

My family met my middle daughters fiancee's family yesterday and we all got along great. Wedding planning is all new to me. I can't believe how much it cost for a hall, and I'm not talking the Ritz here. Luckily she doesn't want anything fancy scamcy but even a basic nice place for an outdoor wedding and indoor reception cost bundles !

Wow! Finally caught up. I need to find more time to spend on the DIS!

Things are busy as usual. Really missing Disney and can't believe I won't be going until August! Spending time on the DIS Cruise threads learning about cruising - can't wait for that. There is a sad thread right now titled "Heartbroken" about a family who missed their cruise yesterday morning because of all the bad weather on the east coast on Saturday - their flight was canceled and no other flights were available. Feel really bad for them - cruises are paid in full and non-refundable.

Time for me to get to bed . . .

Yeah Becci I was reading about that too. Definitely a good case for getting travel insurance!
That is so sad for that family and you just never know about the weather or some other malfunction. We are cruising out of Vancouver in May of next year and I was planning to get there one day early but since we sail on Monday I might spring for the extra night and get there Saturday and definitely will get insurance.

I hope you and Cynthia are both planning to come on the Diva trip next year! I ended up with all our clipboards from the scavenger hunt. Yep, time for bed. I have a gift card for a massage that I am using tomorrow - 90 minutes and I so need it! Then meeting my friends from travel school for dinner - just need to get through work first.

Beth I am glad you are going to get another shot or I should said DID get another shot out with Ruben. I hope you had fun!!

How sad about those folks and their cruise! In fact when mom and I were talking about doing a cruise we had talked about coming back on a Sunday and flying out the same day and I always thought THAT could be risky but I agree coming IN the same day def sounds risky as well. SO sad!

As for me I am off to work here in a few. They said it was going to rain yesterday and it never did but it was overcast all day and then it was supposed to be sunny today but it is STILL ugly so it is making it pretty depressing.

So looking forward to our movie today though!

Aw, Run Disney just announced on FB the newest event: a Tinkerbell Half Marathon at Disneyland! It's in January and I so want to give it a shot but could never make a trip in January and February next year.

It's quite unbelievable!! Although we were pretty sure we did better than we ever have. We finished all but 1 quest (there were 9), didn't do too well on the eye spies and got over half of the trivia correct. We had awesome teamwork, too!! Now all we need to do is fine tune our steps. Too bad we won't be able to do the next DL MouseAdventure in September, although Vicki said she might have a family team. But we ready to go in November at Hollywood Studios!!! Anyone joining us??? There aren't as many teams that go there, it would be cool to have more than one Diva team participate...

Good morning Divas!

Congrats to the Mouse Adventure team! Great Job! Would love to do that someday!

Quiet Day around here! I want to be outside starting the garden! But too much snow! We had that beautiful 2 days where all but a 2ft by 3ft patch of snow was left in the yard and only snow around the edges of the pasture and I began to think spring was really here then BOOM we were buried again!
We are on flood watch here until thursday afternoon. Well per accuweather.com we are supposed to finally break the 50 degree mark tomorrow and Easter Sunday will be 59 degrees the warmest day so far this year! So I am keeping my fingers crossed for a green Easter Sunday.

This morning we had another batch of Mickey Mouse fish born in our tank. I so love those fish!
