Good morning, ladies!!! :sunny:

How's everyone doing today? What did my AI watchers think of the performances last night?? I loved James and Casey as usual. They are so great! I personally hope one of the girls goes home tonight. Or even Jacob. As much as I liked him in the beginning, he's starting to lose some appeal for some reason. Guess we'll see!!

Is everyone ready for Easter Sunday?
I still need to run to the store to pick up some items for our big family breakfast that day, and a few more treats for my son's Easter basket. But over all, I'm pretty much set and ready for the fun to start. OH! I also need to work on the basket hunt clues. Almost forgot about that.

Well, I hope everyone is doing good. Have a great day!! :wizard:

James & Casey were great last night!! The rest can go....none of them interest me......Scotty is getting so cheesy & fake I want to puke!!! Lauren is very talented, but lacks the confidence & needs a couple more years to really mature & then watch out!! Jacob, Stefano & Hayley are just plain boring. But don't think I'm opinionated on this subject........ :rotfl2:

PS: I haven't even started Easter Basket shopping.....guess I should get on that!!

It's not Sarah but her younger sister.
BBQ is a great idea, I'll pass the info along. Hey maybe we can have it at Big Thunder Ranch. :rotfl: Of course everyone would have to pay their own way in and I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen !
Oh yay! BTR would be delightful, but soooo expensive! :rotfl:

Mmmm. I'd be happy with that. :thumbsup2 My uncle did catering at the time, so he did the food for my reception and it was on problem to bring in outside food, drinks, or cake. I'll send you some info now.

That sounds so good! I like a fun, casual wedding, even more so if it has a theme. I really wish I'd stuck with a Halloween theme for my wedding. LOL But my in-laws might not have shown up if I did that. :rolleyes1
Amen to helpful family members! It is great when you can get a deal. A few friends of mine had Halloween themed weddings. One was in a graveyard and not very elegant. The other was done at a historic mansion, and while creepy and perfect, it was gorgeous and well done. It is all in how you set it up. We were married mid-October and had an outdoor garden wedding and then drove down the street to the reception which was in a barn. We used tin buckets in everything from the flower girl's petal holder to centerpieces with apples, and mini ones for the candy "bar" favor station. I wish I could get married again...i love weddings!

Hi Girls
For all you runners out there I'm *thinking* about signing up for the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon. The only problem is - I've never run in my life. Never. Ever.
Is this something doable for a total newbie? It's seems like enough time to train, since it's in January of next year - but a 1/2 is 13 miles and that seems sooo far.
Tell me your training secrets, your get in shape regimen - whatever it is that helps you keep going, and maybe you'll see me there come January. (Yes, I'd really rather do the 5K, but I can't because I work on Saturday mornings. :( so it's the 1/2 or nothing for me. )

You can do it!!! When I first started preparing for a half, I used Hal Higden's training method and it worked really well. The key is to making sure you are not only running, but strength training 1-2 days a week. You need to strengthen your arms, back and core to help with the long distance. Also, invest in a great pair of shoes. Fleet Feet is the best place to go to since they will fit you properly. Be prepared to spend at least $80. I love my Saucony Kinvara's, but everyone is different. I prefer a lightwieght mid-support shoe, but there are some that are a bit heavier and offer more support. If you need to, start by running a minute, walking a minute, and build up your running minutes each time you run (ex: run 2/walk 1; run 3/walk 1, etc.) It is a good idea to sign up for a 5K in about 5 weeks and a 10K in about 10 weeks to get you used to running in crowds. It is amazing the types of people that are out running in the races. You will see all ages, shapes, and sizes. I am always amazed to see people older and bigger than me kick my butt in run times. So never be discouraged! And any race Disney puts on is amazing!

So yesterday I spent the day caring for Tahoe who was throwing up all day. Poor kiddo slept most of the day. He seems to be much better today. I had to force him to brush his teeth longer than 10 seconds this morning. :scared1: Yesterday I had a good though - I went to take the garabage out and my nieghbor wished me a "Happy 4:20 day!" and then invited me to join them later if I wanted. :rotfl:
Today my friend and I are taking our cruiser bikes out for a nice long ride and picnic. We haven't hung out in awhile since we both have been so busy, so I am pretty excited. Then tonight I am headed to my youth group - we just finished up a series on the last 24 hours of Jesus so tonight we are watching Passion of the Christ. This movie gets me every time. Have a great day ladies!!!

I was looking over the front page and thought I'd re-post this information here. This is the list I have for the PNW meet.

Is this still correct?
I know Carol, Angie, and Theresa have already booked rooms and bought tickets. Anyone else? It's almost exactly two months from now. Time to get planning!

If you click on the link above it will take you to their website with hotel info, tickets prices, etc. I did read somewhere that the tickets are limited and can sell out so if you are interested, now's the time to buy them.

It seems like a lot of fun, and a good way to hang out with some friends and get to know some of the other ladies before the big trip. I love mini meets!! I'm not familiar with Lynwood, WA. but maybe someone who is can suggest a fun place for y'all to do dinner and drinks in the evening. :thumbsup2

Let me know if I need to add or delete anyone from the list. Thanks!!

I need to write up clues too!!! Almost forgot, thanks for the reminder  We started it in 2009, but then last Easter I took Tahoe to DL for Easter. Kinda hard to set up clues and hide a basket well in a hotel room!

I am almost done with the boys' baskets. I just need to find one more goodie for Brydon.

:rotfl2: Nope, not opinionated at all. :p Scotty is getting a bit cheesy, but with that voice he'll do well. I was never really a Stefano fan, although he did rock it last week. This week....meh, back to boring.
Fingers crossed for James and Casey being safe tonight!

The Halloween wedding in a creepy old mansion sounds right up my alley. I'd love it!! I bet it was really neat to see.
I've seen your wedding pics on Facebook, Jen! They are simply beautiful. I love that you wore a red dress. Not for everyone, but you made it work. What was the thought behind that? Any significance? It looked great on you, and I loved the red heels too. Very cool. I didn't see any receptions pics though, but it sounds fun. Love the theme.

Sorry to hear was sick, but glad he's better now. Enjoy your bike ride and picnic!! :goodvibes
Oh, and I have to admit, I totally had to Google 4:20 Day. LOL!!!

I can't remember the first year I did it. Just one night before Easter, on a whim I wrote up a couple clues and they loved it so much it's become tradition. :)

Great morning @ the land. No crowd & light drizzle. Mom & daughter day!
Sounds perfect, Andrea! I love it when it's drizzling, and not crowded. Enjoy mom and daughter day. :wizard:

Nice!!!! Some friends from our school are there now. How great for them too!

Oh, and I have to admit, I totally had to Google 4:20 Day. LOL!!!

The red dress just screamed "me" when I saw it in a bridal magazine ad. I have always been a bit different (and I wasn't a virgin when I was married :lmao:) Everyone wears white - it is great to change that up now and then.

That is too funny that you didn't know about 4:20...guess that is thanks to the town I grew up in.

I was working on my clues...when I realized I have not bought a chocolate Easter Bunny for his basket...everything else just no bunny...and I have everything for Easter Dinner set...so besides the Chocolate Bunny guess what else I forgot to buy when I went shopping yesterday? :confused3 not even sure how I managed this but I forgot to buy eggs! So another trip to the store for me today. Wow I must be getting old... but I was so focused on the ingredients for dinner I totally forgot.

Tomorrow we do the Easter Egg hunt at the retirement home, this is the smallest of the egg hunts this weekend but one of my favorites as the residents all come out to watch the kids gather eggs and the delight on their faces is almost better than the excitement of the kids.

Saturday we have 2 egg hunts to do one at the park in the morning run by the Kiwanis club that Colton particularly likes since they pick a different color egg (real hard boiled eggs at this one) every year to be the "bonus" color and you can trade that color in after the hunt for Susan B Anthony dollars (gold coins for my little pirate).

Then in the afternoon there is one at the Dinousar Museum where all the eggs are shaped like dinosaur heads and are filled with candy, museum and gift ship gift certificates, dinosaur toys, and 1 golden dino that gets you a one year membership for the museum. The Easter Bunny also appears at this one and they have a bounce house shaped like a dinosaur and craft activities and treats.

For me with AI, I'm still only watching for Casey. The only person I would really love to see go at this point is James. I just don't like the other contestants but he really, really, really, really, really, really, really (add in a few more) bothers me.

Yep, Remember Billy in SNL. :).

Now do you remember Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In? The telephone lady? Lily Tomlin. A show way before it's time. Now that is dating myself. I loved Goldie Hawn in Laugh-In to.

Patty

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Oh yeah, and looks like I'll be spending Easter alone, lol. The rest of the family will be going up to Auburn to spend the weekend with my grandparents and aunt. They always like to do big family events. But there's just no way I can drive up there after my overnight shift. So I'll definitely be sleeping as much as I can.

What??? You weren't a virgin when you got married?? :rotfl2: You're funny.
I saw some black wedding gown options on a bridal show once and really liked them. It is fun to change things up now and then. :thumbsup2

I heart Maxine! She tells it like it is. ;)

All those egg hunts sound so fun! Especially the one at the retirement home. What a treat that must be for the residents. :goodvibes

That's it.......those are fighting words young lady!

I have no clue what Laugh-In is. :confused3 :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

:( Bummer. I'm sorry you'll be alone. Get some eggs to color, buy a yummy chocolate bunny, rent your favorite movies, and order some take out. Make it all about you. :)

We are still planning on it just have to wait a couple weeks to buy the tickets since we had to have some work done on the car. hopefully they don't sell out Once we buy the tickets then I will confirm.

Great morning @ the land. No crowd & light drizzle. Mom & daughter day!

Love that kind of day! Have a wonderful girl time!

Go get a box of assorted jelly belly beans and look up "recipes" to mix & match them. That's cooking even you can handle :lovestruc

Hard Boil and color some eggs and hide them from yourself. If you want to get fancy I can send you a recipe for deviled eggs that is EASY and you won't have to share with anybody!

Thanks for the tips! It's time to get started. I guess I should officially sign up and then I'll really be committed.

I had no idea what 4:20 day was either :confused3 - my students had to explain it to me last night.

All the different Easter Egg hunts going on sound so fun. I love the idea of the nursing home one and the Dino Eggs - what fun!

And yes, I'm one that remembers Billy Crystal and "You look mah-vah-lous, dah-ling" (A Ricardo Montalban impression, if I recall) and Laugh-In. Goldie Hawn was a high-light on that show, for sure!

:scared1: What?? You want James to go???

Bring it on, Beth! ;)

If I don't go see African Cats after work tomorrow I think I'll go treat myself to a movie. We'll see. This past weekend was a hard Sunday on me, but then again, I spent the entire day reading a long book and refused to sleep until I finished it. Bad, bad, bad idea now that I look back on it.

I feel like I have no time recently to keep up with you guys :sad1:. I miss all the chit chat.

Chris~ You can do it!!! I totally want to train for a 1/2 marathon some day, but not for awhile. I'm going to do a 5k in May to see how I do with that before I sign up for anything longer. I'm totally not a runner :headache:.

:scared1: What?? You want James to go???
That's it.......those are fighting words young lady!
3.gif

I'm sorry Beth, but I'm with Jess. James gets on my last nerve ;).

Hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend. I get tomorrow off for Good Friday . But I'm going to the dentist :sad2:. Then I'm going to brave the crowds on Saturday and go to Disneyland .
