Good morning everyone and Happy St. Patty's day!!

The good news is my dh is FINALLY back to work after being off for nearly a month! I am just crossing my fingers that he STAYS back for more than a few days LOL!! The girls were all excited to wear their green stuff today and not sure about any fun stuff going on at school but they are still on minimum days so that is always a good thing!!

Not much else going on round here just same ole same ole. Mom and dad are gone and everything is pretty much status quo just planning to watch idol and anxious to see who gets kicked off. I enjoyed watching it last night although it REALLY made me feel old to think that even the OLDEST kid on there was born when I was in high school EEK!!

There are probably 5 that I really like and the rest can go as far as I am concerned so at least for now there are plenty that can go and it won't bug me. But eventually it will get tough cuz of the 5 that I like I think they are all really good but at least if they don't make it I am sure they will get a contract with someone outside of the show!

And LOVED survivor as always! Although for those that watch they NEED to get rid of that Philip guy! Geez he is annoying! And the pink panties LOL. WOW!

Anywho hope everyone has a fun day and enjoys all their St Patty's day meals. I LOVE Corned beef and wish I was having some. Hopefully next year! I might surprise the girls and get some cookies or something when I run out to pick up the mail.

My mom brought up the birthday-bash in Vegas in August again. I think I've decided to go provided I can get the time off work. We shall see. I suppose I can suck up a few days with the awful cousins to help my mom celebrate 50. We shall see, we shall see.

Come on out! I'll take you to Chippendales one night.

I love sweet and salty so it won't end well if I get started .

I normally don't, so this surprised me. But it was good.

Yeah my legs are done from standing in the kitchen trying to get each layer even.

I bet! I like to bake but I don't have the patience for detailed work like that. Looks great though!

There is a shop here in Boise called Taters. They have chocolate covered potato chips that are so good! I love salty and sweet.

My kids (teenagers) are not into the whole green thing but I am a preschool teacher. We are going to have green healthy food snacks, the leprechaun is going to mess up our class when we are outside and after lunch we are having lime sherbert with lemon lime soda and green sprinkles.

Happy St. Patricks's Day!

I made a jello cake for work today. I've never made one so I hope it's good. I used a white cake mix and lime jello.

Any talk of a mini meet on Labor Day weekend? I will be down for the half marathon and it would be great to meet up!

I want to try and plan a pasta dinner the night before the race. My mom's coming with me (and my aunt who is running with me), Jessica will be there as well as Wendy and Jen and Rochelle will probably meet up with us too.

Any one else is welcome too. We will be there Saturday morning - Monday. I booked us for 2 nights at the Paradise Pier! I'm excited because I've never stayed at a Disney hotel before. We will be in the parks Saturday and Sunday. On Monday I want to do the character Breakfast at PP. I've never done one.

Jen, I think you said you are doing the Rock & Roll Marathon in San Diego this June? If there's still room next Friday I'm going to sign up for the Half. I am also going to do the R&R 1/2 in Las Angeles in October and hope fully the 1/2 in Las Vegas in December! That one's at night and you get to run the Strip.

I found a new ice cream that I love!

It's called Sea Salt Caramel Truffle. It's chocolate covered salted caramels folded into caramel ice cream, and swirled with sea salt caramel.
If you are a fan of the salty/sweet combo, OMG, this is just the thing. I wasn't even sure I'd like it, but yep......I do.

So I'm gonna fix me a bowl and plop down to watch Survivor and Idol.

We're also celebrating the day our family began (our wedding) & was completed~~~2 yrs ago today, the twins adoption was finalized!!

So lots of reasons to raise a glass today!!

Yay! Finally caught up!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I already have the corned beef/potatoes/carrots in the slow cooker. No cabbage eaters in this house so I don't bother with cabbage. I love my slow cooker and use it a couple times a week - and always for corned beef. Can't wait for dinner.

Jack is on his first week of his 2 week Spring break so my schedule is a little off. The other kids have spring break the week after Easter so I still have to get them up and to school. Not easy with this darn time change.

Now I need to go check out all the pictures

Beth Uh NO! On the pink Panties!! LOL That guy just kills me And did anyone notice that when they list his so called former career there is a question mark behind it LOL. I think even the show is onto this guy!!

Trudi yeah I heard Rob say that and while I agree that it could be strategic you also heard him say that he wanted to get rid of Rob so it could come back to bite Rob in the butt! I think it would be best just to cut their losses. He is too much of a lose cannon I think and just plain annoying!!

I just got back from running my loop, mail, picking up my perscriptions and I picked up a few more dvds. I got secretariat, morning glory and Love and Other drugs. Hoping they are all good! Those were some of the ones I wanted from last week that they didn't have. Oh and I got the next three days too. I knew there was one I was forgetting! They had a few new ones but they were already checked out.

Anyway I am off here in a few to pick up the girls and then we will have fun watching movies (the ones they can watch! )

I have never tried corned beef and cabbage. I am not really a fan of corned beef and I think it is because I've only had the one that comes in the can. It looked and smelled like cat food! I'm sure it's not the same. lol. Corned beef and cabbage makes me think of Meet Me In St. Louis (one of my favorite movies). Maybe I will get to try it someday

My co-worker is on maternity leave and is due at any moment now. She is coming in today for a baby shower that we are throwing for her. She is having a girl and I got her this outfit:

Most of my co-workers brought dessert so I brought in a veggie tray. We just realized that no one brought in any meat dishes, so we just rushed and got Chinese food take-out. They just delievered in time too! Our party is in 10 minutes. Phew!

I forgot to add that I am making soda bread too. I'm trying Ina Garten's recipe.

Here is the really hard glaze to make for the beef. LOL! Not really. After the beef has boiled with the veges, I take it out and rub it with prepared mustard on top. Then liberally sprinkle brown sugar, and a dash of cloves. Cook at 350* for about 15 20 minutes. Thinly slice and arrange on platter, with veges all around and smothered in butter.
