Cute stuff Rochelle!

Beth, All my kids are coming for St Paddy's day! :cloud9: I'm making corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots. After the cornbeef is cooked, I like to glaze it in the oven with brown sugar and mustard. That makes the corned beef yummy! Maybe your kids would eat that along with some potatoes? I'm also going to make some chunky applesauce to go with it. For dessert Key Lime, and Banana Cream pie. I'm going to add extra food coloring for the Key Lime. Thought about putting it in the applesauce, but that might back fire! LOL! BUt your kids might get a kick out of that.

I was also looking up recipe sites for fun, and saw Green Velvet cupcakes. You just use green food coloring instead of red. I almost was going to make them, but I loves me some good ole pie!!! Have fun!
You too Sherri!

Jill, I like the rain too! :goodvibes

Will you adopt me?? Seriously, that sounds awesome. You are lucky to have such a loving family around you, and they are definitely lucky to have you!
Enjoy your time with them. :goodvibes

Oh! Green velvet cupcakes? Now those would be fun to make. Minus the fact I'm a wreck in the kitchen!

Jessica, I'm gonna miss St. Paddy's Day dinner with my family also, because of class. I'll have some leftovers after class though. :cloud9:

Mel, your dinner sounds so yummy.

My brain is fried right now and my tummy is growling from all the food talk, so I forgot what I was gonna say, but I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! :goodvibes

Here's to hoping they'll save me some leftovers! It'll be a big group. I love the food though. But I think I'm more bummed about missing the company. These friends of the family are a riot and it's never a boring time to have them over.

I should be studying for that test tomorrow though. I just can't bring myself to do it for some reason.

I just might try that with our corned beef tomorrow it sounds yummy!
I can see where green applesauce might backfire LOL

One thing Colton really loves on St Pats too is breakfast because I make green eggs & ham and we read Dr Suess while we cook.

Aw, Sherri! I loved when my mom used to do this for me as a kid.

Tell your mom you are still a kid at heart maybe she will make them for you since you have to miss the dinner! Well hey it COULD happen :thumbsup2

I hope someday Colton looks back on it as fondly as you do! Lucky Mom

Well off I go I have a birthday dinner at the church....see you later!

Wow, I never knew families celebrated St. Patricks day. We never did...not once. Except for wearing green to school that day, it was just like any other day at my house growing up. I don't think my mom ever made corned beef and cabbage....ever. And she's half Irish - lol. :goodvibes

my parents were married on St. Pat's Day so it was always a double celebration.

I am having my neighbors over, my Mom and Brandy. My friend Scott may come by for dessert--he doesn't eat beef so he is not enticed by corned beef. I told him he could eat the potatoes, cabbage and carrots and he turned up his nose (although he ate so many carrots in law school he turned orange). My Mom is making chocolate cupcakes and I am making Bailey's Irish Cream cream cheese frosting for them.

We never did either - just wore green. I'm surprised (in a good way) that so many people do celebrate it. I don't think I want to ingest all that green food coloring though - could be interesting :scared1: I do like corned beef and cabbage though........... and soda bread is yum!

That sounds yummy! Bailey's Irish Cream sounds good with almost anything though :thumbsup2

Those rainbow cupcakes that Jen posted on FB look really cute.

Everyone's St Patty's days celebrations sound like so much fun!! I used to make corned beef and cabbage all the time but couldn't afford to buy it this year so we aren't doing anything special tomorrow. Girls have their green to wear to school and not sure if they will get any kind of fun stuff since it is minimum days. I remember when I was kid we got green punch and cookies and such but since the schools here are so weird about holidays don't know if they get anything anymore.

Everyone has some really cute ideas!! Love the green eggs and ham and the cupcakes!!

Jill thanks for the ideas about the airfare. We aren't going to even think about buying them to much closer to the trip but I know at least with southwest that if anything they will get higher as the trip gets closer so that is why I was so discouraged. I am still going to check other arlines and such and I do have ding and I always check and belong to several travel sites etc so hopefully we will get lucky!!

Don't think I will be online much more today as tonight is Survivor and Idol but hope everyone has a great evening!!

Good morning ladies,

I just wanted to share this link I found online. It's of how to make cute Mickey and Minnie candy topiaries to use as centerpieces. It's so cute and I want to try it. :) lol. http://my2pinkladies.blogspot.com/2011/03/minnie-mickey-mouse-centerpieces.html

Those are VERY cute!

So do you just mix plain yellow mustard with brown sugar and brush it toward the end of cooking time? I am makin corned beef and cabbage for 50 on Friday, and that sounds really yummy!

Oh, and I would like some pie, please!

Yay for St Patty Anniversaries!!! Mike's & mine is tomorrow.....27 yrs & still going strong!!! Happy Anniversary to your parents Cheryl!!!

We've been known to color things green in the food department for the kids....but we don't usually do a traditional irish meal....partly because I'm not a fan of corn beef & cabbage...lol

Baby poop orange:confused3:rotfl:Now THAT'S offensive

delayed reaction, but :lmao:

So either you ladies need to stop chatting so much - Where is Capri with her Quiet Coyote?! Or I need to do something about all my school work! So much time is put into lesson prep. For the Divas who are teachers - :worship: It is so hard to find free time now!

Rochelle~ That engagement you posted was sooooo cute! I :lovestruc Disneyland proposals! I keep telling my DH to re-propose to me in DL. Our original one was a disaster :P

Here are my rainbow cupcakes
rainbowcupcake.jpg

I just made a big batch, but is still not enough, so I have to run to the store to get more supplies. We do St. Patty's teachers grams at my kid's school and I am in charge of them. I am making 50 rainbow cupcakes for the whole staff, plus each person gets a lotto ticket and a little poem :) I think I am making extras for my kids and the high school kids in my youth group since tomorrow night is also youth.

Some of my friends celebrate St Pattys day by making their house a mess before their kids wake and blaming it on a leprachaun. They leave the toilet seat up and use green food coloring in the bowl so it looks like leprachaun pee :rotfl: Normally I just make corned beef (no cabbage here) and some potatoes.

Any talk of a mini meet on Labor Day weekend? :rolleyes1 I will be down for the half marathon and it would be great to meet up!

Btw....I am officially caught up! Lets hope it can stay that way :surfweb:

:goodvibes

Evening ladies. Ever have one of those days at work that leaves you in awe and bewilderment at people? Wow, long walk with the dog with no rain, and even some sunshine, in the daylight helped a bit, and now an ice cold beer, and later Idol.

All your dinners and desserts sound amazing, although I have never eaten corned beef, let alone make it. So maybe the only thing green other than clothing tomorrow will be some green beans :rotfl2: The rainbow cupcakes are great, and I Jen, I have a friend that does that for her son too. I think it is so cute.

The proposal was so cute, so cute.

Happy Birthdays to the little ones out there celebrating and anniversaries to all. :yay: And I am jealous of all the vacations I am seeing, I am ready for another one and I just had one.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far!
