Wow, I never knew families celebrated St. Patricks day. We never did...not once. Except for wearing green to school that day, it was just like any other day at my house growing up. I don't think my mom ever made corned beef and cabbage....ever. And she's half Irish - lol.![]()
Well it is time you broke with tradition and did something I guess! My husbands family is ALL Irish and mine is 1/2 so it is a big deal around here especially with all the kids out of school! We all have buttons we wear that say "I am Irish every day of the year!"
my parents were married on St. Pat's Day so it was always a double celebration.
I am having my neighbors over, my Mom and Brandy. My friend Scott may come by for dessert--he doesn't eat beef so he is not enticed by corned beef. I told him he could eat the potatoes, cabbage and carrots and he turned up his nose (although he ate so many carrots in law school he turned orange). My Mom is making chocolate cupcakes and I am making Bailey's Irish Cream cream cheese frosting for them.
Need Need Need that frosting recipe...LOVE me some Baileys! Our boat is named Bailey's Irish Dream (our last name is Bailey)
Some of my friends celebrate St Pattys day by making their house a mess before their kids wake and blaming it on a leprachaun. They leave the toilet seat up and use green food coloring in the bowl so it looks like leprachaun peeNormally I just make corned beef (no cabbage here) and some potatoes.
Btw....I am officially caught up! Lets hope it can stay that way![]()
We are so dying the toilet water green now! That is priceless!
