"Diva" Trip - "Cliff Notes" p.236 OLD THREAD!

Not a lurker, just havent ever been able to get away and not feel guilty...nothing more that I want than to be able to go on one of these Dis Diva trips! DH usually makes me feel kinda bad for going without him or the kids because his love for all things Disney is probably more than mine is and Im so worried that Im going to end up feeling horrible about being there without him or the kids?!?!? what to do what to do? Though about doing what Laurie did and just having him meet me there after the trip is basically over and then doing it all over again with him and the kids

This mama is so worried about what to do...

I want to go, but STILL cant commit 100%...is that wrong????
Love living thru everyones plans and trip reports, so I hope one of these days to be along side of you all having fun at DL! Im alot of fun, love DL and I shower daily so everything should be good!

Glad you all had fun on your trip, cant wait to start reading those TR's!!

Nice to see you didn't chat TOO much. Only took me about 15 mins to catch up!!

Amy nice to meet you and welcome to the thread!! I used to live up in the Seattle Area. Lived in Arlington, Marysville and Vancouver for 3 years. LOVED it but unfortunately got divorced and all my family is in CA so am back here but during the 3 years I lived there my mom would come up twice a year and we explored that entire state from top to bottom including most of northern OR and I just love it. In fact we are taking a trip back up there this summer but only going as far north as Seattle though. Look forward to getting to know you on the thread and hopefully meeting you next year on the trip!!

Beth in answer to your question from yesterday we are not certain yet what we want to see because there are SO many good things out there. I want to see Rango, Beastly, I am number 4, Riding Hood and Adjustment Bureau. And I haven't RENTED anything in probably 4 months either so LOTS to catch up on lol. But it will be one of those I think. I will let the girls decide. I am just glad to get out of the house!! Between having bronchitis and then hurting my stupid back and of course our stupid money issues I have been couped up WAY too long and the weather is SO nice I am anxious to get out!!! The girls and I are going to go for a walk first I think.

Sure wish it wasn't going to start raining again but alas I know we need it! I really was hoping to get back up to my parents place in Truckee since I didn't get up there when the kids went but mom and dad are leaving for their place in Mexico next week for 2 weeks so I am afraid by the time they get back their may not be any snow left But it HAS been a pretty good snow year so maybe we will get lucky!!

Cathy you HAVE to come next year. I would LOVE to finally meet you and I agree you would have a blast! I know it is hard to leave the hubby and kiddos but if you truly feel funny about it I think your idea would work maybe about having them meet you after if that is doable for you guys!

Sherri I was talking to my mom this morning and I think the weekend she wants to go in Oct is the 14th through the 17th not the following weekend like I thought so that means we will be there when you are there!! YAY!!!! We will def have to meet up for a lunch or something. Hopefully some of the other divas might come at that time too so we can have a mini meet!! YAY!!

If my cousin and I make it during October, the 14-17 was the time frame we were looking at as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but we'll see.

Yay!! I am hoping I can convince some of the local divas to come and then maybe some of the other out of towners (hint hint Beth) might want to come and we could have a mini meet!!! YAY!!!! Ok now I am all excited!!!!

Hey Jess so if you go would you go to the party on Friday night? I assume they are on Fridays but whatever day it is that is when we are going!! Fun fun!! Oh I am all excited now!! Yippee!!!

Provided the parties end up being the same nights again we'd be planning for the one that Friday. I soooo want to do the party this year and dress up. Right now I'm not sure we'll be able to afford going. That will be the big question.

I absolutley love the Nerd Vinylmations, those are so cute! (I do not collect them, but I sure want those). I did get a nerd nightgown on my last trip, for some reason I just love the nerd line.

Theresa do you usually fly out of Bellingham on Allegiant?

Kelly, it is funny I have lived in Washington my entire life and there are so many places locally we still have not visited. When we go on vacation we love to travel, we mainly go to Montana or California. But we keep talking about exploring some of the places in Washington that we have never seen.

I just went through and edited my photos from the first Billy Hill show I caught (out of 3 total during the trip). Not as many came out as I would have liked, but I'm loving them regardless. Can't wait to add that part to my TR, along with the video Sarah got (I thiiiink it was Sarah, having a total memory breakdown right now).

Yep, cheap and convenient - just the way I like it I love that little airport (except that every single time I use it, I get the full on, up to the hooha pat down....... I must look pretty shifty )

If thy are Tues & Fri like last year we will be going to the one on Tues the 11th when we arrive and on Friday the 14th so hope we will see you all there. Jess money is always an issue for us too esp coming so far and plane fares seem really high right now but until further notice I just plan like the pixie dust will happen and I WILL be there!

Just to throw this out there, we were talking about birthdays and Cheryl thought it might be fun to have a birthday (or "unbirthday") party theme for the M&G. We could have a giant birthday cake, hats, blowers, pin the tail on the donkey, balloons, stuff like that. Anyway I thought it sounded cute so I thought I would just mention it as a possibility.

I live about 2 hours north of Seattle, in Bellingham, a town about 20 minutes from the Canadian border.

We have one of the ladies who lives in Bellingham too. And some that live close by, as you saw.
I'm hoping to move to WA one day, but it won't be until my two older kids are done with high school, so probably another 3 years. It just seems like such a beautiful area to live in.

I am planning an Oct trip and hope it's when others are coming too.

I really want to go in October! When are you going to be there, Linda? I'd love to plan it so I can meet up with a few other gals as well.

Hey Cathy. No, it's not wrong. I know how you feel. The first trip I ever did solo was actually the DIS WDW trip because I was living in MI at the time and planned the WDW trips. Same as the DL ones we do with about 40 ladies. Anyway, I cried the night before I left, I cried on the way to the airport, I cried on the plane, I called them daily, well, you get the idea.
It's hard to leave your family.
BUT I wouldn't trade these trips for the world. It's not even about Disney as much as it is about taking time out for you. To just be Cathy, and not a mom or wife. To form friendships with other ladies, and have the time to do just what you want to do.

I don't think it's selfish at all. I think for me, I know I go back home feeling better, refreshed and even more happy to be with my family. Obviously you are the only one who can make that decision for you, but I do hope you give it a try, at least once.
