Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Sitting in a theater seat and the screen opens to some very strange music and a group of Englishman running in the high tide.... scene forever changed the running world... vangelis music pushing you to the 10k finish... along with Rockey and Christopher Cross anthems

Chariots of fire is a great Good Friday movie... Missionary service in China leads to Eric liddel death in Japanese war camp and Harold Abrams Battles Anti semitism...victorious music for liddel.... haunting music for Abrams

Holiday music- specifically, the songs that go with traditions. We just had our (belated) Passover Seder and it was so fun and special to sing the traditional songs I’ve been singing for decades.

Songs that get me moving- it really varies but some songs just really appeal to me some days help me pick up my pace.

Tv theme songs- I miss them. Fun fact, the song for Laverne & Shirley sometimes makes me tear up.

(Fri, 4/3) - 3 things you're grateful for related to music (can be songs, artists, actual movie scores... wherever your thoughts go on this one)
Well, considering it is also Good Friday, I'm going to have to go with 3 Good Friday/Easter songs...
1. In Christ Alone
2. Is He Worthy by Andrew Peterson
3. When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

And... so many others. I love the old hymns, but also appreciate a lot of the newer songs too.

Surrounded by your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance before you Jesus
I can only imagine

Even if I limit myself to movie soundtracks it is hard to focus on 3.
Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek shows and movies, many Twilight Zones)
Elmer Bernstein (To Kill A Mockingbird, The Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven, just to name a few)
Bernard Hermann (Psycho, other Hitchcock movies and some Twilight Zone episodes)
Michael Giacchino (some Disney, my favorite being Up)
James Horner (sooo many, one of my favorites is Field of Dreams, I was so sad when he died)

One of the things I love about the music that is played at the Wilderness Lodge is how many movie soundtracks they play!

Elmer Bernstein (To Kill A Mockingbird, T
James Horner (sooo many, one of my favorites is Field of Dreams, I was so sad when he die
To kill a mocking bird made the countdown 99 of a 100 all time classical music 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶 list of Arizona PBS classical music station

And horner makes me cry.... Hey Dad...wanna have a catch ??

Inspired by this pic for national vitamin C day:

Today's Topic (Sat, 4/4) - a rainbow of things you're grateful for (something red, orange, yellow, etc.)

Good Saturday Morning

I tell ya friends…..we’ve had so much rain. Pretty soon I’m gonna find fish swimming in the backyard:fish:

#1 - RED BELL PEPPERS - I have a few recipes that I use them in, and they are always so good. I have to cook the heck out of them due to my UC, so the vitamin c is probably cooked out of them, but that’s ok, it is what it is.

#2 - ORANGE JUICE - I rarely drink this, but when I do, it’s a real treat. I’ll have some at Easter brunch tomorrow.

#3 - BANANAS - I don’t think this is a vitamin C item, but it’s the only safe food I can eat with my UC, so I’m always grateful for it, and because of that, I eat a lot of bananas throughout the week.

Afternoon all,

Going with the colours of the rainbow from the old kids song:

Strawberries - they're my favourite fruit and we're now getting to the time of year where British strawberries are available, and they're the best.

Mini Eggs - these come in a yellow box/bag and have always been my favourite easter treat. Staring at a box right now!

Lip gloss - love a nice pink lip gloss for day to day casual wear, and have just bought a nice new one.

Nature - love this time of year when all the greenery returns, everywhere looks so beautiful compared to the winter.

Nails - currently have a purple patterned nail wraps on that looks so pretty. Runner up is anything Cadburys in their trademark purple wrapper.

Pumpkin spice - I usually associate the colour with anything pumpkin spice flavoured which is one of my favourites.

Skies - could do with these right now!

Today's Topic (Sat, 4/4) - a rainbow of things you're grateful for
The blood of Jesus (And a less weighty answer.... My dove dark chocolates!)
Fall leaves
Sunshine
Tress and plants
Blue skies
My "Slothy Speedster" shirt
Flowers
The moon and Artemis II currently headed there! (That launch was amazing!)

Happy Saturday, everyone :)

My Dad's late friend Cynthia silk-screened this rainbow for me when I was born. I've had it hung in my bedroom ever since. Rainbows by my faith belief are a reminder that Jesus is forever with me. His Will, is always carried out in a perfect way and time.

I completely agree about Jesus' words in red in my Bible.

Orange for the memory of P, a young preschool boy, in my class who loved the color. P will be 23 this summer! Prayers he and his family are happy and well.

Yellow for sunlight.

Green for God's gift to me of healthy eyes with sight.

Blue for memories of loving The Smurfs as a kid.

Purple for patriotism as in purple mountains majesty.
