I have sleep apnea and need distilled water for my machine. Does anyone know if they sell it in the grocery stores at the DVC resorts? We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Gosh, I doubt it. I have only seen small bottles of water sold there, not the gallon size that distilled is usually sold in. If you have a car you can get it nearby at Walmart or Target. If you're staying at AKL, you go down Sherberth Road right after the security booth, and you reach the Irlo Bronson, make a right, and you are very near a Super Target and a Walgreens.

I don't know about the other resorts, but years ago I bought it in the grocery section at the Contemporary. I checked when I was there in December and they still carried it. They sell it by the gallon.

I've bought a hiking filter pump for situations where I can't get distilled water easily such as when out of the country or flying without a rental car. FYI, most cruises will supply it plus an extension cord if you ever get in that situation, just prearrange it. It is NOT listed on the grocery preorder form.

We bought a gallon of distilled water at the general store at Boardwalk. If you don't find it at AKL, ask one of the cast members - sometimes they have it but don't have it on the shelves. If that fails, I'd ask the concierge for help.

I know the general store at BWV had it, so maybe the other resorts have it as well.

I bought it at the store at the Grand Floridian but the CM at AKL told me they keep it in the back so it doesn't get confused with the other water. Just ask.

My husband also uses a CPAP machine. We were able to find distilled water at BLT last Spring but our Fall trip to BWV it was not available. We used purified water and it didn't seem to have a negative effect on his machine. We even asked at BWV but they had none available. I would check with the store at AKV if you don't see it available.

Just came back from a trip at BC. They didn't have any distilled water. I had to order a gallon from Turner drugs. $7 delivery plus about $2 for water. Not great but its an option.

You call Turner drugs and they deliver to the front desk. They charge your room and you don't have to be there to get it. convenient but pricey.

Before reading this thread, I did not know that some WDW resort shops had distilled water for CPAPs "in the back" for guests who ask.

When distilled water is not available, I use bottled drinking water. Bottled water has minerals, but should otherwise be just as "clean" as distilled water. My CPAP uses heat to evaporate water, so the minerals in drinking water stay in the reservoir.

The important thing is not to let the water evaporate completely. I fill the reservoir with more water than I need each evening and empty it completely each morning.

I'm not giving medical advice here. Check with your provider.

I agree and in addition, for the couple of weeks that you are on vacation using water with minerals in a heated humidifier shouldn't be a problem. If you notice a mineral build up, just rinse the tank with vinegar to clean. Most insurance plans allow for new masks, head gear, tubes, and humidifier every 6 months.
