Spoke to my TA (BCAA) yesterday and apparently she has been on the phone with Disney daily over the past 10 days trying to figure out where our documents are.

We are leaving NEXT Friday (Oct 27th) and Disney still hasn't sent us any of the documents for the trip. This trip was bought and paid for in full (over $10,000 all total as we are doing 8 days in WDW, MNSSHP, and then a 4 day cruise as well) this past summer (late august).

Last year we went to Disneyland twice and had all of our documents in plenty of time. Now, because of the delay it's going to cost me a little extra. Where I live we don't have a BCAA office so I will have to drive up to our nearest one (130+km's away) and pick them up - IF they get there on time.

So what is taking Disneyworld so long at getting our stuff to us so I can worry less about one thing? Are they always this slow? So far I'm not a happy camper on this trip and we haven't even left yet!!!

Are you sure that the BCAA office paid your trip off?

Same sort of scenerio happened to me a couple of years back and it had nothing to do with WDW, but the agent handling my travel plans! Why won't the BCAA office courier you your docs? Doesn't sound like they really care!

Good Luck and I hope all works out well!

Oh I'm quite sure. The Credit card debits are on there and listed as WDW travel.

The TA is the same TA I used for ALL of my trips, including the one to Disneyland last year. She does all the booking for all of my family. My sister booked her trip to NY for Thanksgiving last year through her. My father regularly books his constant trips to Europe through her. She is quite familiar with us.

As for not couriering me the docs. That's because it actually takes longer. You see all the courier companies send everything to Vancouver. Even though I am only 130 km's down the road, the courier companies send everything right by my house down to Vancouver and then back up here.

Instead it is much quicker if I just go and pick up the docs once she calls and tells me she has them. I still don't understand why WDW can't just send the docs once I've paid for everything?

Actually, Disney DOES send the docs once the trip is paid for in full.

The problem doesn't lie with Disney, it lies with our border. Customs takes FOREVER to let through any type of travel documents.

In the past, I've had Disney mail out the documents over a month prior to travel and I haven't received them until AFTER they return from their vacation.

That all being said, you do know that you don't even need these documents to check in and get all of your package components, right? All you really require is your reservation number.

I would get your TA to fax/email you a copy of the reservation from Disney showing paid for in full (which they most definitely WILL have). This way, in case the docs don't arrive in time, you can bring that with you. :)

If the border is an issue then I am even more concerned as the word from my TA is that Disney has told her they haven't sent them out yet (that was a couple of days ago).

I am aware of not needing all the documents. I know Disney has our reservation and such.

But I am curious - how does DME work without the luggage tags that are with my documents?

Sorry, but there is NO way that Disney has not yet sent out your documents if you are leaving on October 27th and you paid in FULL. Did your TA book through Disney directly or through a Canadian tour operator?

But I am curious - how does DME work without the luggage tags that are with my documents?

DME is not even run by Disney, it's run my Mears. You should of gotten your DME luggage tags ages ago, as these are sent 45 days out. I have DME luggage tags here for people who aren't traveling until December!

IF your TA booked through Disney directly, my educated guess is your TA has your DME tags, but didn't bother to send them/let you know until the rest of your Disney documents arrived as well.

That being said, to board DME you don't need your DME vouchers either, again just your reservation number. The yellow luggage tags are for the sole purpose of transporting your luggage from the airport to your room.

Keep in mind, not everyone who goes to WDW books so far in advance. There are people who book now for next week. In that case, there is no time for them to receive their travel doc's from Disney, yet 'magically' everything works out just fine for their vacation without them. Translation; don't worry about it!! ;)
