Back from a 4 night stay at BC. It was a nice stay. I split with Pop so BC was definitely a relaxing, upgraded feel after Pop. Have stayed here before but first time post-refurb. I still feel BC got short changed in the refurb (no rainshower, no pocket bathroom doors) but I think BC's came out better than BWI's as the room still had a desk and a mini-rolling desk under it. The artwork is adorable!
I put room requests in via Touring Plans, requested no connecting door and full balcony. Got both! Room was ready when I arrived around 9am. Thanks to folks here I did go ahead and use the free waterpark benefit for TL since it wasn't a weekend. Much better. No waterparks on weekends lol. Housekeeping got my room everyday even though I was coming back around 1pm, I was impressed!
A couple maintenance issues, but I think it was more bad luck than BC's fault. Hot water went out my first day, I told the front desk and on my way back maintenance was already visiting another room who had complained about it. Hot water was working an hour later. A couple days into my stay my exhaust fan malfunctioned, front desk was slammed so instead I called the central line, about 90 mins later maintenance had finished replacing it. No complaints there, I feel they did their best.
Pool Bar, Ale and Compass and Crew's Cup Lounge were all good. I dined at the hotel more often than normal as evening storms popped up. Ale & Compass impressed me, I hadn't been for a couple years and I think they have upped their dinner game with the revamped menu. Braised flank steak was delish! Pair with the Oberon Cab (the current 2022 year they are serving is my fav so far). Pool bar is still solid, CMs there are great.
The quiet pool was clutch! Relaxed a couple days on a full size floaty someone had graciously left behind and floating around a practically private pool at Disney is a memory I will cherish. The chairs still SUCK. Idk if they replaced the SAB ones but the quiet pool ones were saggy so that stupid bar just jams into your back when you try to lean back. That's the only true downside to this resort, how can you have a relaxing pool day when you are leaning on a straight bar across your back? I did not try the SAB ones so don't know if they got replaced with new ones. They are still the same type they used to be.
I talked to the front desk about my arrival day issues detailed earlier on check-out. The front desk CM said he would talk to a manager, that the carts are never supposed to be left unattended. The lack of covered arrival/departure area was annoying but would not stop me from booking BC. I did not have any refurb work outside of my room during my stay so I can't speak to that aspect.
I will return in the future if deals and budgets work out. There is something so relaxing about an easy walk to Epcot and BC is just a chill vibe to me.
