Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Anyone there that can comment on the noise level from the work being done on the exterior?
That was not my post- I was quoting someone on FB, however, the original poster did update their original post with this:

“There has been work going on literally right outside of our room and we can’t hear it. Haven’t been bothered by the construction at all.”

Question for those in the know... We are contemplating a one night stay at YC/BC in late September. Purpose would be to visit Epcot in the afternoon, then park hop to DHS in the evening while (hopefully) hitting EEH. Then spend the following day after checkout at SAB before transferring to our next hotel off property.

Would you pick YC or BC? Price is identical. Family of 4, kids are 13/10. Standard view (we're more concerned about cost than having a balcony).

Stormalong Bay Refurbishment Update: Water Returns, but Deadline Looms

While Walt Disney World does not release details related to the work, construction has been visible and the pool received a full refresh. New concrete and work on the pool pumps was visible over the past few months.

While visiting today, we noticed that the pool has been refilled, and work continues on pumps and getting the pool ready to reopen. Officially, Walt Disney World has said that the pool will reopen this month. If I was a betting man, I would say late this month (if not July).

In addition to the work taking place on Stormalong Bay, an exterior refurbishment of the hotel itself is ongoing. Disney says that they’ll be done with the exterior refurbishment in October. All of the work is a legacy project, with Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club set to celebrate its 35th Anniversary this November. Here’s a look around at the work taking place!

Hurricane Hanna’s remains closed and has been closed for the entire refurbishment. Crews are utilizing the space around the venue for staging and extra work space.

That said, some walls are starting to come down as crews prepare for a reopening. I’m often surprised at how quickly refurbishment projects at the resorts wrap up. You can go from a construction site one day to open and ready to go the next. Still, we’d plan on not being able to use the pool for another week or so, at the minimum.

There is some ongoing work and scaffolding at the Shipwreck Slide.

As mentioned earlier, there is an exterior refurbishment going on at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort(s) as well. So we’ll cover a bit of that here as we walk along the interior hallways from the Beach Club over to the Yacht Club.

Back out to the pool area, there is still some equipment in place as crews continue working. It was a hive of activity when we visited this morning.

Pool deck chairs are staged and some cabanas are being rebuilt.

We also noticed that the rope along the walkway between the resort and beach area was also being refreshed. Disney has spent a considerable amount of money and time to get the resort ready for its 35th Anniversary later this year.

Either option they are basically the same resort with just suttle theming differences. We dislike the seafood smells that come from Cape May in the evening. It tends to hang around for several hours.

Speaking of balconies, the BC has about a 50/50 split of full balconies vs Juliet balconies (Small Standup space). The YC is a clear winner in the balcony battle.

To add to that YC is always the choice for my family because #1 it’s the first picked up and first dropped off on the bus routes to the parks if that matters to you and #2 this is a BIGGIE YC also has barn doors to close off the sink area to the rest of the room. This affords some privacy when getting dressed which is a necessity for my family of mixed ages and gender kids. BC rooms dont have this and the small bathroom area with a door would be very very tight to try to dress in lol.

I’m gonna counter the two prior opinions 😂. I prefer beach club because yacht club is the ‘conference’ hotel and I think it’s less fun overall. Beach Club is probably my favorite resort. (SORRY AKL and Contemporary.)

I’d do BC for the shorter walk to EP.

However, do showers matter? Thing that sticks out most to me about the rooms is that YC has rain shower styled showers while BC is still stuck with the old style.

I like YC to mobile order “to go” from A&C. Literally one night dd only ordered fries and I order a fruit plate. Just needed a snack. So easy to do when close!
I wish the seafood pot pie would be on mobile order. It hasn’t been in the few times I’ve looked. A couple in my family love it, couple don’t really care for the rest of the menu. Would be nice to get that Togo for them and the other two just grab something from the market.

Hearing a lot of interesting things about A&C to go... I don't think the BC side has an equivalent, right? Marketplace is kind of sad for actual hot food as far as I know. Is A&C close enough to the villas that it would still be warm/hot by the time we got back to our dining room?

Its super close. The difference between walking back to your room for BC vs YC is maybe like 5 mins or less difference depending on where your room is.

Hi all,

Planning a Food and Wine trip and have a ressie for CL Waterview. Hoping for 2Q with daybed room. Are there any rooms that you can see the fireworks from EPCOT?

TIA, MudEJeep

OP asked about going from A&C at Yacht Club over to the Beach Club Villas. So that probably would be a little bit longer of a walk than going to rooms at BC, because you would go through BC until you reached Beach Club Marketplace, then out the door and on the path over to BCV. BCV is a separate building. (Or out the BC front door and over to BCV from there.)

Now that I think about it, I don't recall ever taking hot food from anywhere up to my BCV room, so I guess I can't directly answer OP's question. I eat in the room a lot, but I guess it's always cold food.
