Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Looking at booking a room at YC for 2 adults and DD 13. It says you could get king bed and day bed as possibility, which DD would not like. Is there any way to guarantee two queens? TIA!
As others have said, the chances of getting a king room with a daybed are extremely slim. Simply requesting two queens should do the trick. But if you want to be 100% sure and don't purchase a package, you can add a 2nd child.

This post is from a few days back, but I just noticed it says "Stormalong Bay is scheduled to be closed through May". Disney's website still says "through June". Is this just a typo for wdwnt or has Disney just not updated their website yet?

Likely sloppy blog reporting that probably copy/pasted from an original story (when first announced the dates were through May, but that was later updated to be through June).

Yes! The 7th picture, looking over the lazy river, toward the windmill, with Hurricane Hanna's on the right. If you zoom all the way in, it says "3 FT .9 M". And the staircase indicates 3' and change. I probably sound like a lunatic but this is (was) the nice, deep part of the river?

Thank you so much; keeping my fingers crossed!

ETA: We will be in WDW in early September and are deciding between YC (where we usually stay) and Grand Floridian (which we thought could nice just for a change, but don't love that the lobby will likely be under construction, and Polynesian has no rooms on sale for our dates). I don't know that this change to SAB would be a dealbreaker, as the main selling point of YC for us is the walkability to 2 parks, among its many bright spots. But it would be a slight bummer, for the adults in my party and my swimming 10yo.
The 7th picture isn't where you are thinking. It's the small pool area to the side of the kids sand zero entry area. Look at Hanna's, the lazy river is on the top side of Hanna's.

Yep, thank you, I'm tracking now! Some other eagle-eyed Yacht Clubbers pointed this out above and I am VERY happy to have been mistaken. Phew! 😊 Appreciate everyone's time and expertise and am getting excited for a spruced-up SAB...

Hopefully they come out okay
So I know the pool is slated to be done by end of June, but what about the building\scafolding stuff? We arrive last week of July and this is all starting to make me wonder if we shouldn't be moving resorts. Booked last August for this year and at the time no real word on this.

I had no clue there was work being done at the Yacht Club until I walked by......might have to google/ask Disney.

We stayed at the Boardwalk for the week. Got home this afternoon. We took a walk to the Beach Club Marketplace last night. Took some pictures of the pool area. The Yacht Club also has scaffolding up all around it......things need to get done but not a pretty sight with the two.
Thanks so much for sharing! Did you enjoy your stay at the Boardwalk?
