Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Hope you had a wonderful 4th! Wondering how you found the FP+ situation? Have read some accounts of no FP+ for Flights of Passage - did you try/get any for Pandora?
My 60th day prior was June 24, and there were no FoP FP at all for several of the days. I did get at 67 days prior (i.e., my 7th day onsite) at Noon, and at 5pm or later for 68th and later days if I wanted it. But my 65 day is last week of August which is lower crowd level than prior days of my trip. I.e, you are going in Sep. I'd guess (60+ from today), so might have better luck than I did for the first 5 or so days of my onsite stay mid-Aug.
I'd definitely recommend get ready and book immediately at 7am only FoP (for all people who want to ride) for the days you want it, then go back and fill in rest of AK day and other days. Nothing else was hard to get - no problem getting FEA or 7DMT at times I wanted. HTH! PS I recently added 8 days to our vacation - arriving earlier - and there are zero FoP FP. Only NRJ. No problem getting FEA or 7DMT though.

Hi! Plans changed- AGAIN- and we're not staying at the BC, lol. Could you please remove me from the list? Thanks.

Where did you get that shirt?! DH would love that. He's so hard to shop for - would love to get it to hold onto for xmas.

I was afraid someone would ask that!

I don't actually own the shirt, I saw it on the internet, probably on the "I Love Coffee" Facebook group.

But I did find one on Amazon for around $10

https://www.amazon.com/Coffee-Heart...deID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=coffee+t-shirt

And in case you want to do a matchy-matchy thing, how about this one... (eBay)

Thanks for the video! Enjoyed watching it. Curious when you took the footage...is the globe gone again?

I asked this in the Club Level thread and so far haven't gotten many responses but I'm hoping someone here will be able to help. We've booked our first ever CL stay at BC for September and I was wondering if anyone has stayed CL there recently that would share the types of foods and drinks that were available? We have a DS2 that goes through a ton of milk, do they have cartons that can be taken? And water bottles? Any information you'd be willing to share would be greatly appreciated!

I was there a year ago & they didn't have bottled water or milk in cartons. At breakfast, milk is in a big dispenser. Water is offered in a dispenser all day. I'm sure if you ask for milk at other times they would give it to you in a glass. They have Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke in cans. Iced tea in a dispenser. I'm sure food choices have changed since we were there. Beer, wine, cordials at night. Coffee & cappacino.

Two more sleeps until our 21 nights at YC and we can hardly sleep:yay: but does anyone know if Oscar still works at the Steakhouse?. He's our absolute favourite cast member of all time, we've got a reservation there next week and it would make our vacation if he was still there.

Posted on Monday:

I was just in the YC lobby a few minutes ago and the CM told me that when the globe came back from being repaired the work wasn't done right. So they sent it back out to be fixed and it should be back in another week or so. I also asked about the Ale and Compass Lounge and she said it is going to be back in its original location. They have been told it will be open by late fall. I laughed and said that probably means Dec 1st. ;) The CM hadn't heard any rumors about the lobby being redecorated.

I have a link with a ton of pictures from my October club level stay at the Yacht Club. I believe the offerings are pretty similar in the two lounges, so it should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. The breakfast and snack remain the same, the evening appetizers are the things that change the most over time.

As TNKim indicated, the milk is available in a dispenser. I'm not sure if they would be able to get you cartons if you asked, you could try. You could also fill a paper coffee cup and put a lid on it to stash in your room fridge.

Iced water is also available in a dispenser. I never asked for bottles of water, they are definitely not out to grab. If you think you want a number of bottles to bring to the theme parks, your best bet is probably to get a case of water (24 bottles) from the Beach Club Marketplace for about $7.

:goodvibes

Could someone please tell me if it's difficult to get chairs by the pool? Do we need to get there early? Are there many shaded areas or umbrellas available? We're going late September/early October. Do people do the chair-saving towel-placement thing early in the morning? I sure hope not.

One more thing--I'm traveling with my DD (13) and my DS (9) and a friend of the same age for each of them. I know I should keep the 9-year-olds with me, but do you think it would be acceptable to allow the girls their freedom within the resort? I'm quite sure they'd be safe, I'm just wondering if anyone would look askance at two 13-year-olds without parental supervision. They're very well-behaved girls.

Available for sale at the BC Marketplace

Renderings of refurbed Captain's Grille and Ale & Compass (layout of two establishments to be similar to set-up of Crew's Cup Lounge and Yachstman Steakhouse, with partition wall between the two).

A sign posted outside Crew's Cup Lounge states that there only is beverage service, and no food, between 2:00PM and 5:00PM. I believe those are the same hours that Captain's Grille is shut down, between lunch and dinner service.

This brings this to mind:

Do you think they would look askance at us if we filled up multiple water bottles from the dispenser? This is my plan!

We loved just asking the CL staff for water bottles in the morning before we left. Definitely a perk that I hope they have not eliminated.

Can't comment on the chairs, but my kids had the run of the resort during our trip four years ago, and they were 11 and 10. Never an issue. Now, mine have always been "free range" in any event.

I doubt they would care if you filled water bottles. When we were there a year ago and I asked for bottled water, they said they didn't have it. I think they also had lemonade in a dispenser. If you look for some photos of the lounge somewhere in this thread, you can see the various drinks, snacks and food offerings.

My recommendation if you are filling your own bottles is to perhaps to use one of the glasses/cups provided in the lounge and using that as an intermediary vessel to fill your bottle.

ETA, based on additional responses- the best approach is to ask the club level Cast Members to fill your water bottles backstage.

I would take natebenma's advice or ask a CM to fill your water bottles. We were in Poly CL last month and the only time I saw a CM get annoyed and verbalize it was when a woman filled her personal water bottle from the water dispenser at breakfast service.

She sternly told her that next time she needed it filled to ask a CM and they would be happy to do it for her in the back. The woman retorted that her bottle was clean and the CM repeated the same sentence again, more vehemently that time. And added that they prefer to do it that way for sanitary reasons.

And I saw a lot of bad manners on display from guests at other times and none of those were addressed by CMs - just the water bottle issue.

People who know me know that I am incredibly positive person, and try to look for the good in every situation. But holy cow guests can be rude at WDW! Once while we were staying CL at BC, a CM laid out a tray of scallops wrapped in bacon. There had to of been 20 on the tray. A gentleman cut The line picked up the entire train walked with it. Someone in line questioned him and his reply was, "what? I'm paying for it." We had befriended a CM in the lounge and asked why he didn't stop this behavior, and the incredibly polite reply with something to the effect of having to do with not making waves. Unfortunately, I read that as the customer always being right, even when the customer is incredibly rude! :sad2:
