I am in full planning mode and back to the boards after my little hiatus. FP+ booked today for August. We don't arrive at BC until August 17, however, we check in to GF August 13, so, FP's booked!
Looking forward to getting back to BC CL August 17!!!
Ok thank you.Yes, turn left out of Beach Club towards Epcot, then turn right across the bridge to the Boardwalk. It is closer than going by YC.
Checked in Friday. Just wanted to mention current Stormalong hours. Pool now closes at 10pm and they were firm with that. Our last summer visit was at least 11. If this has already been mentioned sorry for the duplication.

just wondering about captain's grille.... i just watched a disunplugged review of worst 5 restaurants and it topped the list. i realize all that is so subjective (one of our favourite meals on our last visit was hollywood and vine!) but it was just posted 4 days ago.
i saw one post above that refer to it as "less than stellar". it made me wonder what other recent guests' experiences have been like.
Kpm76- I'm considering upgrading our upcoming YC stay to CL. Have never tried concierge before. How are the offerings during the day? Did you take any pictures of the food? Is it worth the upgrade costs?

After much persistence, I FINALLY was able to secure a discounted studio room at BCV for our upcoming October stay. We'll now be splitting our time between CSR business class and BCV, yay! Dee.... can you add us to the BOG list, please? We'll be at BCV 10/17-10/19. Thx!!

Just got back last night from our WDW trip. We stayed at BCV for the first time.

Greetings from the villas laundry room.
Regarding my mission about kids meals and discounts. I asked three separate cast members including one at the actual registers at Hurricane Hannah's whether or not I could get a discount t if I didn't want the sand pail with the kids meal and got the same answer from all three. Price is the same regardless...no discount.
5 days until our first-ever Crescent Lake stay (at Beach Club). We are incredibly excited!![]()
Thank You! And yes please add us to Be Our Guest list! We are on our countdown until BCV!
I am planning a trip to Disney for the second week in October, 2017.
Regarding the horrible tragedy that took place at the Grand Floridian - my heart breaks for a family that will never be the same. There are a number of threads here on the DIS to discuss what happened and to express sympathy and compassion. I am not going to encourage discussion or debate here, but here is my input about how this relates to the Yacht & Beach Club resort.
In any body of freshwater in Florida, assume that there are dangerous things. Gators, snakes and dangerous parasites.
Please heed warnings to stay out of the water. Swimming and even wading or playing in the water is not safe.
In most cases I recommend minding ones own business, but if you see people in waterways at Disney, I don't think it would be out of line to remind them that this is not a wise thing to be doing.
Gators have been spotted in the waterways near the Yacht & Beach resort. Pictures were posted last year of a gator that was in the BCV canal. I remember seeing reports of alligators spotted in Crescent Lake and in the water between the resort and Hollywood Studios. I have heard a story of a large alligator sunning in the parking lot.
Disney is an extremely safe place, but that doesn't mean you don't need to pay attention and be smart.
I want all of my friends to be safe!
Sorry to say but your husband is part of the problem. Never feed an alligator or any wild animal for that matter.....My husband threw bread to it from out balcony and let me just say it was alarmingly aggressive in it's efforts to beat the turtles to it. We watched as two cast members caught it on our last day, Luring it to the shore with marshmallows. It was probably six feet long. Keep your kids away from the lakes and canals. So sad for the family who lost their toddler. Unimaginable.

Once an alligator has been fed by humans, there are two problems: they lose their natural fear of humans and they associate humans with food and will approach without fear. Both are extremely dangerous outcomes!

I hate to ask this because it feels insensitive, but with the news of the Beach closures, does anyone know the status of Storm Along Bay and the slide? In the pictures, those appear to be right on the edge of the lake.
We are arriving on Friday and if one of the major attraction we planned on using is going to be closed - I have to start considering option for my family. They've been looking forward to this for so long.
Hey everyone! I've tried searching but haven't had much luck. Does anyone have pictures of a renovated 2 bedroom villa? We are starting to plan for spring and I've never stayed at BC. Trying to decide between renting points for a villa, or just getting a regular room. If anyone has advice either way, it would be awesome! How long a walk is it to Epcot? Is there a place to get a quick breakfast? We have never stayed deluxe before, only values. Thanks!

Fully agree. Feeding any of the wildlife (including raccoons which can carry rabies) is not smart. It attracts them more toward humans.Sorry to say but your husband is part of the problem. Never feed an alligator or any wild animal for that matter.
