Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I know this is insensitive, but can we use all of Stormalong Bay - including the pirate ship slide? Will the marshmallow roast be held somewhere else? (These are both very important to my kids.) We arrive tomorrow (6/16 to 6/25).

I haven't heard but I can't imagine that the slide would be impacted. Can someone there now confirm that the slide is open.

I'm guessing the movie could be moved to the solarium where it is held some nights anyway. I have not heard any news about campfire

Can anyone tell me where the Beach Stone Harbor club level rooms (We have Garden view) are located? We have stayed at Beach many times but only in the villas. Just wondering what to expect. We check in on Sat.

Hi! I am contemplating booking club level for 5 nights before switching to a regular garden view room for another 5. I just have a few questions about it to know if it's worth it. We're vegetarians, is any of the afternoon/evening food suitable? I know breakfast will be easy enough. Also my son can't have gluten, is there anything they'll be able to get him if we inform them ahead of time? Thanks! I'm super excited about it either way, we've never stayed here before.

Dee could you please add us (back) to the BOG list? We will be staying 9/30/16-10/8/16 at BC. Got a magical deal on a garden view club room so we are really excited. We were going to do a cruise for our 25th but after a great cruise recently we found we like one with lots of ports and the one we had booked had too many sea days for our tastes. So what to do...go back to our happy place!

I am curious about whether the hours will be expanded this weekend with all of the "June 17" openings and start of the summer season.

I spoke with Angela, one of the managers about the changes to the pool hours and this is definitely an efficiency change and she believes it will stay this way. They apparently have been taking counts during the 10-11 hour and have decided the numbers don't support keeping it open.

It totally cramps my family's style. We usually like to have a 7:30 ish dinner, then by the time we get back it is usually 9-9:30. Before, that gave us plenty of time to come down and unwind for a bit or for DD to connect with someone to make later evening plans. Now, with the walk from the villas, it isn't worth it. We have been trying to work around it since we got here last Tuesday. Isn't it ama I got how hard it is to accept change when you are used to something being a certain way?

Hey everyone! I've tried searching but haven't had much luck. Does anyone have pictures of a renovated 2 bedroom villa? We are starting to plan for spring and I've never stayed at BC. Trying to decide between renting points for a villa, or just getting a regular room. If anyone has advice either way, it would be awesome! How long a walk is it to Epcot? Is there a place to get a quick breakfast? We have never stayed deluxe before, only values. Thanks!

:welcome:

I don't think we have seen pictures of a renovated 2BR either.

Walk from BCV to EPCOT (International Gateway entrance) is between 5-10 minutes depending on where your room is and how quickly you walk.

There is the Beach Club Marketplace for quick breakfast items. Refer to Page 1, Post 6 and Post 7 for info, pictures and menu listings.

:thumbsup2

opening is 9 am we will still be here so will post if anything changes.

Thank you so much for this info!

Post 12 on Page 1 of this thread has lots of pictures and info about club level, including some pictures of the food offerings. Someone in the past week commented that the CL CMs were very accommodating to a family member with food intolerances. I think it was gluten, and I believe I added the comment to the very end of Post 7 (Dining).

::yes::

The Beach Club concierge rooms are on the 5th floor with private access. The rooms run from the space above the lobby towards where the Yacht Club is. There are no rooms on the fifth floor in the wing that is closest to EPCOT. Most, if not all of the BC CL GV rooms look out onto the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard.

Will do.

Well that didn't work... I was commenting about the lunch options without the sand pail. Several times last week I ordered Chicken Nuggets with no sides, and a turkey sandwich with no sides and it was less money than the full lunch. I wasn't trying to be cheap as we made up for it with adult bevs from the bar, but by the pool I only wanted a small snack since we had food available at the lounge during the day.

Thank you for asking a manager.

All these cuts are annoying me e.g to staff hours throughout the parks/resorts and asking chefs to reduce food bills along with the changing of character buffets to 2 dining plan points in October. If they are doing well now when the depression kicks in where are they going to cut back on next if they have already cut back? Sorry for ranting. Back to beach club information.

Arrive today with twin DS! June 16-25, standard view, AP rate. (DH staying home with the dog and to work.)

Thanks so, so much to EasternShoreGal for info about slide open and no campfire yesterday. (While a bummer about latter, and I know no guarantee slide won't shut for, say, mechanical reasons at any time, its WAY easier to manage expectations if I sort of know the likely possibilities. (And, we would have switched to Poly studio - same price at AP rate, oddly - if slide was definitely closed.) Both DS have cognitive disabilities, and being able to prepare them for stuff like this is HUGE in making our vacation relaxing. So, when the campfire would have been, I'll time our walk to see Boardwalk performers or go into Epcot for a snack - they'll forget about the campfire I bet. (If slide is down I'll figure out some white lie to make them forget about it - like its bumpy or too hot LOL.)) Gotta finish packing, and last day of school for the kids!

Just clarifying- you were able to order just chicken nuggets or just a sandwich from the children's menu earlier in the week, and you were charged a price lower than the listed cost? IMHO, that's the way it should be handled.

My understanding is if you order a kids meal (full meal) including the sides, that policy is to charge the same price with or without the sand pail. CMs may use their discretion to override this policy though.

It appears that the entrance to the sandy beach is blocked by these ropes. I believe this is along the same walkway that leads to the slide. (originally posted on DVC News site).
Thanks for the quick info share and the photo.

We did not try to order a kids meal without the pail for a lower cost.

Is there any credible information on when/if the water transportation will reopen? I'm trying to decide on a resort for a quick trip at the end of July. Group would probably really enjoy proximity to EP and HS. I know walk is quick to EP, but not so quick to HS if boats are not running. Thanks!

Where have you read the boats are not running?
