Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Well tomorrow is ADRs D-day for us:cloud9: I can't believe how quickly that's come around! Thanks to all of you who have posted reviews on YouTube for helping us understand all the changes this year. I won't miss the chocolate mousse/ cupcakes at all and as long as we're having fun the calories will soon burn off let's face it none of them count on vacation anyway:crazy: We decided not to do online check in this year and just see what happens. The pixie dust faerie can sprinkle a little joy on us if they are in the neighbourhood on arrival day, or any day we're there tbh.Im gonna need to make space for the cats to supervise our online bookings tomorrow or the claws will be out in full, lol!

Hi there, hope this is OK to post here and not on the other forums but I know many of us have booked our Beach Club stays through some "magical" deals. Have any of you ever upgraded those tickets to an AP when you arrived for your trip? I am going to do this, and was wondering if anyone had trouble considering the types of tickets they sell. Thanks!

We traveled with the deal last month and we were able to upgrade our tickets to AP's. But we did have to pay the difference from the discount we originally got on the tickets.

OK, I promise not to hijack the thread talking about tickets but I did ask my TA and she said they could be upgraded, and it would have to be at the discounted price, which of course is fine by me since that's what I paid. I really can't believe the savings the agency has on these tickets! I will report back when I return in a few weeks, but I'm now feeling good!:)

Catching up again and just saw this post.
Oh we've done them. Thinking maybe doing Copper Creek direct then adding on for BCV.

We own at both Saratoga and BCV. We bought our BCV points on the aftermarket before they started imposing restrictions on those purchases. We did this as we were told at that time that DVC would prioritize waitlisters who already owned at BCV over those who owned at other properties. Not sure if that is still true or even accurate at the time but might be something to look into if you have your heart set on BCV.

Hi all. We are renting DVC points for a studio in Beach Club. What kind of coffee maker do they have in the rooms? Is it ground coffee or k-cup? How many towels will they give us for a family of 4 if staying 6 nights? Thank you!

I think 4 of each towel (hand, wash and bath) used to be the standard but with the increased capacity we have received 5 occasionally but not consistently. We started with 5 on our most recent trip and when trash and towel day came they only replaced our used ones with 4. Since it was just hubby and I and we only had one more night it was fine for us but I am thinking 5 may be the new norm. Not sure if they look at number of occupants when doing their service.

This is great to know and definitely new. When I inquired about in in 2015 you could not.

So what does the AP end up costing?

Hey guys! So we decided to upgrade to YC CL for my November birthday trip! :cloud9:
We were thinking of adding the dining plan, but I enjoy CL so much that I think I'd miss it if we didn't do it!

I'd love to be added to the BOG Guest List! Our dates are:
Nov. 26 to Dec. 2nd. Thanks so much!

I'm really enjoying all the photos people are posting! It really helps make the anticipation of the trip more exciting!! Keep them coming!

Was that Dasani water complimentary?
Yes - it is a new room amenity. The photo was taken at the YC.

I believe that this is to compete with deluxe resorts not owned by Disney, which provide complimentary bottles of water in guest rooms. The Swan and Dolphin include four bottles of water in each room, but they also charge a resort fee, which includes the water, as well as other amenities. But, the room rates at Swan and Dolphin are also lower than YC and BC, even taking into consideration resort and parking fees.

I wonder if housekeeping would leave additional bottles of water, upon request, at no charge, just like extra shampoo or coffee.

T-minus 49 hours until we fly out to WDW for our stay at YC. So we are staying at a Garden View room and after looking at some of the views we are thinking we'd like to request a room overlooking the Wedding Gazebo.

Have any of ya'll stayed in this section? Do you like it? Pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

I would think it would cost whatever an AP normally costs, minus the amount which the person had spent on the ticket they want to upgrade. But I have never done this.
That's what I thought. I'm just trying to figure out what the advantage is to buy discounted tickets if you end up spending the same? I must be missing something.

It depends. Some 3rd party tickets can be "bridged" that means they are worth the gate admission price that day not what you paid for them. So say you paid 325 but the gate admission value would be 375 then they credit the AP 375 not 325 and you save 50 bucks. However some 3rd party tickets the value is only what you paid. So you would pay full price and only your 325 would be credited to the AP instead of the gate value of the ticket. On top of that there are times when the value of your ticket is 0 no matter what you paid (these are the non-changeable non-upgradable tickets) so if you go to upgrade you will be quoted the full price of the new ticket. runDisney and Convention tickets usually fall under the non-changeable non-upgradable type.

Please post your thoughts when you get back. Staying garden view in June. Switched from BW. Hoping we made the right choice. Stayed at BW before always wanted to try YC

Thx

I get that, that's why I asked what it ends up costing in the end.
