Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

That's international like Europe, not Canada. :-) We fall into a weird limbo where we are arriving on an international flight that is treated like a domestic flight.

On the way to Disney, the vast majority of the time you clear US customs in your departure airport, ie Pearson, and then you just walk off the plane like a domestic passenger would when you arrive at the US airport. There is no visit to customs/immigration at MCO in that case. You can use the yellow ME tags if you want to have your bags sent directly to the hotel, or you can collect your bags at baggage claim and haul them to the ME bus.

However, on the way home, you're treated as an international flight again, and ME picks you up 4 hours prior to your flight's departure time. And, you can't usually use Resort Airline Checkin to check in and have your bags sent tot he airport.

Yes, it's confusing. Some of the rules apply and some don't. :-)

Thanks so much. :) I'm so glad it's still the same.

Yes, the info says: Disney's Beach Club Resort- Expansion work on the Convention Center 8/4/2016 - 2/1/2018. Guests may see work or hear the work in progress and certain pathways may be unavailable. Work will be conducted 9 AM to 9 PM. Beach Club bus stop has been moved to the Beach Club Villas parking lot. There will be a courtesy shuttle to get guests to the busstop.

So glad to know it's not an issue anymore---phew!!! Thank you :-)
They need to change that. Worth noting is the dates match up EXACTLY with the expected convention center expansion so that could be how they got confused.

1) Request for close to lounge/close to elevator (same thing)

As you said, the requests you want are not part of the online check-in. You can add those requests to your reservation by phone, or if you booked through a travel agent, they can do it. How did you book your trip? The telephone number to add a room request to your reservation is, but I'm not sure if you use a different number for reservations from Brazil. I know there is a special number for guests from the United Kingdom. There is no way to email or to make the requests not listed for on line checkin other than to call:

Walt Disney World Resort Reservations: (407) 939-1936

* my Canadian friends- is this the number you use for reservations, or something else?

2) Here is the contact information for planning help- like making dining or other reservations. The process was recently changed and the Cast Members you deal with are not exclusive to the Yacht and Beach Club, they do the planning for all of the club level resorts

Contact information for the Beach Club Stone Harbor Club and the Yacht Club Regatta Club:

Disney Signature Services has replaced the resort-specific Itinerary Planning Offices. This centralized service is once again able to help guests with Disney Club Level reservations make plans, including Advanced Dining Reservations for upcoming trips.

Disney.Signature.Services@disneyworld.com or 407-939-7777.

This contact info should only be used for guests who have confirmed club level reservations.

3) Magical Express for International Travelers

I need some help from others with this one- Does the flight info need to be called in, and do you use the regular Magical Express number?

This is the info I have on Page 1, Post 14 for Magical Express contact info

Magical Express contact number: (866) 599-0951 or call reservations

Magical Express Online Registration

:goodvibes

Hi Natebenma,

I wrote an email to the Disney singnature services that you send me and they helped me with everything, they also set the magical express to us.

I was told that they can not guarantee a room near the lounge, but that they would put and observation in my reservation about my preference. Good enough for me :)

Looking forward for this trip, we wil have a lot of fun for sure :) .

Thank you so much for your help.

I see @natebenma provided the link. They are very nice to deal with even through email. Sometimes it can take a day or two for the email response but you will receive a response. Have a wonderful trip!
Love all the pics, thank you, and thank you Dee for posting them!

Thank you for your help :)

I can help with this one I hope. Basically you put all your requests for room location and Magical Express through your travel agent. If you hooked directly with Disney there's a telephone number in your invoice to call with requests/ amendments. As an international traveler you will have to pick up your baggage and go through customs and security on arrival at Orlando. We simply keep our bags with us and make our way to the Magical express desks at the bus departure area. Have your holiday invoice handy so that they can see where it was requested. They don't need your flight number/ arrival times to be listed separately as they will have this information from your booking. You will then be directed to the appropriate bus. We've always found staff to be very helpful and one bonus of arriving internationally is you've got your bags with you so no waiting in them to arrive at your resort room. Hope this helps :)
Thank you for your answear : )

This is my understanding on tipping.

I believe that Mousekeeping is considered a non-tipped position at Disney, however the CMs who make up your room are permitted to accept tips. The amount is discretionary- I have seen suggestions of $2 per person per day, I typically leave $5 per day whether it is just my husband and me or if it is the whole family.

Additionally, at club level, there is someone who turns down the room (and leaves chocolate)- I typically leave $2 for turndown.

As far as tipping the Club Level CMs- I have been told that CMs are not permitted to accept cash tips, but can receive other gifts valued at less than $75. I have heard conflicting information about whether gift cards are considered to be "cash". In the past when I have stayed club level, I have brought some local treats- a New England cookbook, small bottles of maple syrup, candy or Starbucks or Dunkin' gift cards of $5 or $10 for the CL staff to share.

You are correct in noting that Club Level CMs are not permitted to accept cash tips, but it actually extends to anything with a liquid cash value, including but not limited to cash, gift cards, checks, gift certificates.

Apparently, the Express Fresh in-room service only is available at the YC, not the BC...at least for now, in the test phase.

I believe somebody asked about the hours for the quiet pool and spa. The hours are currently 7 am - 11 pm. There is a keyed lock on each gate to the area.

The YC is currently working on the 4th floor rooms. Fittings and Fairings food area should open the end of May, at which time, the merchandise area will be enlarged and remodeled,

I'm at the YC now, fittings and fairings is open

The pool hours are 9am - 10pm

As Dee suggested, take the time to read Page 1 of this thread. It has amazing current information.
As far as the BCVillas, I think the 5th sleeping space would not fit a full size adult. It is a pull down bed that seems better suited to a child/small adult. But to answer your other question, if you book a DVC Villa directly through Disney you would get daily Mousekeeping. The Studio Villa also has a kitchenette, if that interests you.

This regarding the BCV fifth sleeping space in a studio. My mother-in-law slept there for one night when we were there last summer and she was comfortable, but she is very petite...4'11, 100 lbs, but I wouldn't put a full sized human in that bed. I think your feet would hang over.

Quiet pool and spa (whirlpool) hours at the BC are different than Stormalong Bay. Fittings and Fairings is open, but reduced to about 60% of its original size; temporary walls are set up, so that you are diverted to enter/exit from the long corridor side, as the original entrance, as approaching from the lobby, is no longer there. The current state of the shop is reduced and temporary.

:tiptoe: Put away the pencil and grab your Sharpie Dee ;) DH and I are doing the SAB swing dance in 19 days!!! I ch-ch-changed my reservation this morning to YC SV CL for 3/23-26!!! I was hoping for an EPCOT resort, and yesterday BWI standard and YC CL opened up (I had a garden cottage booked at BWI and decided no). You know how I loves me my CL! I also would love to take a swim!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I can only guess most of the 5th floor is complete since rooms opened up...just when I had given up on BC/YC availability :cloud9:

:woohoo:

So excited for you!

I'll add you to the list. I'm etching it in...

:dogdance:

Here is a link to my photos of the Nantucket Suite. My apologies for the quality, they were taken with my iPhone, and also they're a little bit out of order. I admittedly teared up when they told us we were receiving this, and again upon entering the room. I was obsessed with the armoire, it was so beautiful. The suite has a master bedroom, living and dining area, wet bar with microwave, coffee and a fridge fully stocked with bottled water and sodas. Around he corner of the entry, there was a large half bathroom, I don't have a photo of however. There are two balconies, as the suite is on a corner, one that faces the courtyard, and one off the master that faces stormalong bay. There were several small vases fresh flowers, two bottles of champagne, chocolates, truffles, a basket of goodies, and the solid white chocolate Mickey Mouse, that I brought home There is also a doorbell, which they rang daily, with little cards and treats. I have no idea why we were selected for this amazing magical upgrade, but it was truly a gift. The mouse keeping was superb. The cast members on the club floor referred to us by name every time we came in contact with them. Aside from our wedding at the Yacht Club gazebo, this was absolutely the best vacation we'd ever had at Disney.

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures with us!

May I add the link to your photos to the Yacht & Beach Deluxe Room/Suite thread?

:thumbsup2

Heads up! On the CL thread, there are a bunch of pics of YC CL and a newly renovated room! I still think the reno at BC was overall better, but I could get used to this. These pictures do a bit more justice to it!
Thanks for the heads up on this. Those were some really good pictures of a CL renovated room at the YC as well as pictures of the lounge area. I think I am going to miss the ceiling fan not being there in the room to move the air around from the heat and humidity of the Florida weather and as you pointed out, the jury is out on the hardwood floor. I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts after you have experienced it. I myself like the shower option as we have no use for a tub although I do understand others feelings on this. Time will tell.
