Looking for updates on the quiet pool refurbs- each of the 3 quiet pools at the resort were scheduled to be closed for a brief period at different times in Feb. Please check in if you know the status of any of the pools currently.

If they are all open, I'll remove the renovation notice from Post 1.

:thanks:

The BC quiet pool is open, with no evidence of any work or closure.

We just booked BC for 5/12-17! So excited...first time staying deluxe. We have a 1 day water park ticket that we'd like to try & use. How would we get from BC to BB or TL (leaning toward BB) using Disney transportation? About how long would it take? What about the return trip? I'm thinking of doing a 1/2 day at HS with early emh then hitting the water park in the afternoon or doing the water park on our departure day since we'll have a later flight. The ticket was a freebie so if it goes un-used, no big deal. I would rather spend departure day at MK since we only have 1 MK day but I think the kids would rather do the waterpark. We'll let them decide (once we tell them about the trip). Thanks!

Thank you Dee and Pluto! By the way, I took both your advice and created a new account with a different name. (Phew!)

Hi all! This is my first time posting though I've been following for a bit! We are debating between club level both at either beach club or yacht club for mid-May. I originally thought definitely Yacht since it would be brand new room, but am now rethinking. We know that even though club level renovations are complete, there is still work happening on other floors/throughout the hotel. I have read reviews saying that there have been interruptions in water and electricity (though I don't know if those were localized to area where work was being done and wouldn't affect a completed floor). If this is still happening during our stay it could be super disruptive -- especially since we have a toddler!

Any thoughts on what is the best decision? I know the general pro con about beach vs yacht, but am curious if anyone had additional thoughts based on recent stays or observations of the renovation work or anything else.

Our only other experience was the poly and I didn't really like it. I felt the rooms were very dusty (part of why I love idea of no carpet room in yacht club!), water smelled weird, and the "convenience" of location was canceled out by monorail only being up and running half the time we needed it! We also ate at Epcot a bunch so it seemed like a better move to do an Epcot resort this time around.

Thanks in advance for your time!! Much appreciated.

:welcome: to posting on the DIS and on the thread!

I'll pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list with a resort to be named later.

:cool1:

Either would be a great choice in my opinion. I'm not sure how much disruption you would encounter if you are staying club level (5th floor) at the Yacht Club in May. Based on what I have read, the 5th floor rooms have all been renovated and work is currently proceeding on sections of the 4th (and maybe 3rd) floors.

I would be interested in hearing from guests in the coming months about any disruptions they experience from construction noise or water/electrical outages.

:thumbsup2

We checked into BC CL yesterday and so far we are having an awesome trip. This is our first stay at BC and we couldn't be happier. I see now why it's so popular!

:welcome: to the thread!

So glad you are enjoying your trip so far and I appreciate the detailed list of club level offerings you provided!

Hope the rest of your stay is fantastic!

:dogdance:

No luck on the refurbed room! I was told 5th floor is done, 4th floor is in process and should be done by summer, the rest by the end of the year.

It's easy to tell from outside at night which areas have been refurbed, as you can see the enormous new TVs in them!

:welcome: to the thread!

Thanks for the info! Sorry you were not assigned to one of the new rooms :(

You are correct in noting that Club Level CMs are not permitted to accept cash tips, but it actually extends to anything with a liquid cash value, including but not limited to cash, gift cards, checks, gift certificates.

:welcome: to the thread!

Thanks so much for the clarification.

Here's your official :welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

As you have probably seen, calliope has listed the club level offerings available this week. On Page 1, Post 12, I have a link with a lot of pictures (3 or 4 posts) of the food items at the Yacht Club CL in October- I believe the same food is generally available in both lounges. Also, Ohmom has posted some current food pictures from the YC club lounge in the Disney's Club Level FAQ thread

:woohoo:

I haven't been paying attention to the water park transportation info, and it keeps changing, so I am hoping someone who has recent experience with the process can give some insight on travel from:

Resort to Typhoon Lagoon
Resort to Blizzard Beach
(does it matter if it is morning or afternoon?)

Theme Parks to Water Parks

Combining a half-day at a theme park with a half day at a water park is a good idea. Animal Kingdom has been a half-day park for us and we have followed that with a quick trip to Blizzard Beach afterward a couple of times since it is so close.

Question: Departure Day Pool Time & Showers?

Our flight home isn't until 6pm and I plan on getting one more swim in at SAB after checkout and before we head home. What is the situation with showers at the BC/YC?

I hate not washing my girls hair after going in the pool, it feels like straw and is impossible to brush.

As of right now, there are none. Rumor has it they are to be added to the rest rooms between the health club & Beaches & Cream, but no work has been started on them yet. Sorry.

Here is what is currently available for guests using Stormalong Bay. I have never used these showers (or seen anyone who has), so I have no personal knowledge about them. When I use SAB on checkout day, I change into dry clothes in the large bathroom just inside the hallway near Beaches & Cream.

The spa/health club is run by a private (non-Disney) company and I think it is an absolutely ridiculous policy that they will not allow guests of the resort to use the locker room/showers unless they have a spa appointment or they are working out. I don't care about showering after using the pool, but for those who do, I suggest you go in anyway and try to use the showers. If they try to stop you and say you can't, be incredulous when you question why guests of the resort are unable to use onsite resort facilities. And keep dripping on their floors.

:scared:

I have heard so many mixed messages about whether the poolside locker room/shower project has been started or when it will be completed. Originally we were told it would be done October 2016. When I was there in mid-October, I was told they were just moving things out of the arcade in anticipation of the project. I thought others had reported that parts of the arcade are blocked off and that perhaps the showers would be open sometime in April.

Would somebody who is there now, or soon be willing to check on the project??? Not sure who to ask- I checked with someone on the recreation staff.

:fish:

From Post 13:

Can I use Stormalong Bay on my checkout day?

Yes! You will still have your Magic Band after you check out, and you still need to use before entering the pool area. You can store large bags with Bell Services. Recent reports are that only guests of the spa may use the lockers and showers in the health club. There are some lockers for use in the pool area near Beaches & Cream and outdoor showers poolside.

Hi, we are going back to the Beach club from Aug 15-25 for my daughters sweet 16 trip! We have stayed at the Beach club 2 other times and it is my daughters favorite!! then we are jumping ship and heading over to Universal for 5 days! My daughter has not been since she was 3 and my son has never been so they are very excited to experience it. I am looking to do something special for my daughter but I am not sure what yet-maybe a firework cruise or something to celebrate her 16th bday. I was going to do a specialty cake but have decided against it because I am spending enough for the cake for her big party at home we are having! Any recommendations of something to do for her? We go pretty much every year so I want something different and special for her

If you don't want to do a specialty cake, there are many places that you can get cupcakes. Usually Beach Club Marketplace in the refrigerated section. Boardwalk Bakery. At DHS, the Trolley Car Cafe (Starbucks) had them in to-go plastic containers the last time I was there. At Magic Kingdom I would check Starbucks and Main Street Confectionery. Animal Kingdom had them at Kusifiri coffee shop the last time I was there, but they were not equipped to have them "to go." Options are more limited at Epcot - Sunshine Seasons might have one (in The Land), and the carmel place might have them.

Hey y'all! My husband and I just got back a few days ago from a stay at YC CL. We had a renovated room. I posted some photos over in the Club Level board (it's a few pages back now), but I've also posted about it on our blog if y'all wanna take a look at the new rooms with higher-res pics than what Disboards allows.

http://www.wdwfor2.com is the site. If anyone has any questions about the new rooms or CL, ask away and I'll try to answer!

Thanks so much for posting! Loved reading your blog about it. We have stayed YC CL the last 2 years and it sounds like your experience was very much like ours. The staff up there is mostly fantastic. I have to say, the rooms are nice, but my heart is a little broken that the Mickey lamps were replaced with plain boring lamps. It is interesting that Disney, a place were tons of little kids are expected, seems to be phasing out tubs. The GC at Disneyland is starting a renovation and photos of the room design there also show a shower and no tub. It is fine for us now that DD is 11, but when she was 5 and under, not having a tub in the resort room would have really been a problem.

Thanks you for sharing your beautiful pics. We love the YC . Only one question...what did you do with all the people in the lounge??? I can never get pics of the food without people getting in the way. :rotfl:

I really enjoyed your review, Ewoks. Thank you for taking the time to compose it. Three questions for you if you have a moment: Was there a handheld sprayer in the shower? Did you mind having no carpeting? The floor looks slippery and maybe cold. Also, is it true there is no tub? Thank you very much in advance.

Thank You for the info, the Beach Club is a new experience for us.

It was new for us this trip also. We've really enjoyed it and I hope you do as well.

Tonight's offerings were pot roast with mashed potatoes (this was extremely popular; they brought out 3 trays of it in the 30 minutes we were in the lounge); chicken nuggets; orzo salad; chickpea and feta salad; shrimp ceviche; marinated veggies; crudités, crackers, cheese, hummus & dip; PB&J; and apples & caramel.
