Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Good morning! Contemplating online check in and have a question after reading the terms & conditions:

It says that if you participate in online check in, you must participate in priority express check out (and further states that any charges will go to the credit card on file). Would that mean that I wouldn't be able to apply disney gift cards to any expenses incurred over our trip? Or, can we visit the front desk the evening before check out and pay off the balance in person?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can visit the front desk (concierge desk) during your trip and apply the gifts cards to your balance. No worries :)

We are planning a trip in February 2016. We stayed at the BC several years ago and the kids loved the pool. Are there other activities in the resort to keep a 6, 11 and 16 YO busy if it is too cold to swim?

Can you still request a room key in the form of a card? Does this affect your ability to use a magic band? (I ask because I put the room keys in my scrapbooks.)

A few things that come to mind and they do have a price tag are the Lafferty Place Arcade, which is located next to Beaches and Cream. Also, Fantasia Miniature Golf is about a 10 - 15 minute walk, located across the street from S&D resorts accessible by heading along Crescent Lake towards S&D, walk by the Swan and the pathway will take you toward your location. Surrey bike and standard bike rentals are also an option.
There is also a ping pong table by stormalong bay and BCVs has 2 pool tables.

Great, thanks :o)

We did a Garden Grocer order when we stayed at Beach Club last year,

If you used a grocery delivery service such as Garden Grocer, it would be delivered to Bell Services. There is no fee and they deliver to your room

Thanks to Hamilkm and Hopefully for your posts and sorry I am just catching up. I wanted to ask how your Garden Grocer order went as I placed one for our trip in May. I had read in several places regarding the convention fee and getting caught up in the weekend loop where you might need to chase down your stuff if you shipped to yourself or did Amazon. Did you like it? Were they prompt in their delivery window?

Can anyone help? Bumping in case it was missed, thanks!!

I just wanted to tell you that the kids program at Stormalong Bay Pool made my trip one year. They had so much fun doing the activities in and out of the pool I really got to relax. The dancing and games (even for my boys) was a blast for them. I don't remember about the lifeguard dancing but everytime we have been they are really diligent when doing their jobs.

Q regarding room location, trying to remember the layout from our last stay. I have never made a request other than balcony but thought it may be worth it to hope for a particular location even though I know it's not guaranteed.

Staying in Club Level Water View at YC. The way I see it, we have two options. Am I correct with this assumption?
1) Ask for quiet end of hall- would be closest to boat dock (if there is an exit on that side), farther from CL Lounge, might see fireworks? Also closer to Boardwalk maybe?
2) Ask for location closest to lobby- would be closest to stormalong bay and buses, although may only be a view of the garden and some water?

Any other advantages or disadvantages to be aware of?

Sorry as I am sure this has been brought up before but I feel like I have looked at so many room tips on too many sites and I'm getting confused!

Thank you!!

I was extremely happy with Garden Grocer. My order was delivered within my delivery window and waiting for us at Bell Services. They texted me to ask how everything was. I commented that the bananas were slightly bruised. They immediately offered to replace them. My DH - the banana eater - told me I was being overly picky and they were fine. I was more than pleased with their willingness to make everything perfect.

For us (3 Disney Adults) we make out better paying out of pocket for meals over paying for the Dining Plan. We made 4 trips in a row with Free Dining and found we like to eat like the Dining Plan is set up. One QS for lunch usually and 1 TS for Dinner and some snacks throughout the day. We weren't able to get Free Dining at CBR one year so went with the Room Discount. I took what the Dining Plan would have cost us to pay for it and put that amount of $$ on 2 Disney Gift Cards. We ate what we wanted, whenever we wanted and used the Gift Cards. We also used them for Tips and adult beverages too (neither of which is covered under the Dining Plan). When our 8 night trip was over we had $275 left over on the one Gift Card. So if we would have paid for the Dining Plan we would have spent quite a bit more $$ since we would have also had to pay for tips and adult beverages.
I totally agree with this dining plan is way more than out of pocket!!

We've used Garden Grocer many times over the years and so far have never had any issues. Maybe not 100% satisfied in the fruit ripeness selection, but on the whole, the process works great. You can even order so many days/months early for a discount. We wouldn't use any other service.

Just want to let everyone know about my experience with IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) and dining reservations. My DH and I have YC CL reservation for our October anniversary trip. Normally, I would handle the reservations myself, because I enjoy booking them, but we were away, so I sent my list over. Tuesday was booking day, and by 6:20 am I had an email saying they were able to book everything I wanted at the times I requested.

The reservations I have are a BOG pre-opening breakfast, a BOG lunch, Beaches & Cream on arrival night and my husband's only request, La Hacienda. I also have a nice private dinner booked at Kona for the two of us and 8 friends. ;)

I found the office to be responsive, replying to the emails I sent within 24 hours.

:thumbsup2

The only way in/out of club level is the main elevator bank. And the boat dock & bus stop are both off the main lobby: bus stop out the front of resort; boat dock out the back of the resort. You have to go out the back of the resort thru the lobby or the door near the laundry on the first floor to get to the Boardwalk.

The water view rooms close to the lounge look out over the lighthouse & dock. The rooms further from the lounge look out over StormAlong Bay. I have seen fireworks from both locations. The lounge is just a few steps from the elevators. If you request close to lounge, you will be close to elevators & therefore closer to all transportation options. If you request quiet room away from lounge, you will be further away from the elevators & therefore further from transportation.

Tell Mr. NateBenMa that Ninja Mom is coming for him. I will be able to win him over with a zip lock bag filled with purloined Pretzel rolls and a complimentary pool noodle.

He'll be wearing a flowered bathing cap and working on his synchronized Pool tube routine before he even realizes what he is doing.

Resistance is futile, he will be assimilated. Mwa, ha, ha!

Thank you for taking the time to post! Very helpful :)

Reporting live from the BC and having a great time! One slightly random question, are there usually no clocks in the room? I really thought there was an alarm clock in here (like all other hotels). I hate having to look at my phone to know what time it is. Especially in the morning because I should be going back to sleep but I see I have notifications and I can't resist the urge to check them!

I believe they removed clocks a few months ago to free up outlets for electronics. But you can request one from mouse keeping :)

Disney has taken the clocks out of all their resort rooms. The clock was missing from our BC room last October. We've been bringing a small battery powered clock with us. I hate having to find my phone whenever I want to know what time it is. Last time we went to Disney I made the mistake of packing a clock that made a ticking noise. TSA searched my suitcase. Oops.
