Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I've read the first few pages of this thread and a bunch of other sites, but still am not sure: which floors have "full" balconies? Just 1st and 2nd? Are the first floor patios classified as "balconies" during room assignment? Thanks!

So both YC and BC packages go to the convention center? That is so odd. My friend stayed at BC in November, had a package delivered and she said it was waiting for them at the front desk when they arrived. She made a box up herself, filled with things and shipped it to the resort with her reservation on it. Could that be why? We asked her about it because we were thinking of doing this since we'll have an 18 month old with us in September. We decided to just pack some things in an extra suitcase since we are flying Southwest.

I can only speak definitively of my experience. My "package" had my name and reservation number on it as well. It arrived via FedEx and was delivered to the Convention Center receiving area. This is what I have consistently read on this thread as well.
How did you friend ship her package? If she used USPS it is handled differently. Mail is delivered to a central sorting facility on property and then delivered to each resort from there. "Mail" does go to the Front Desk of the resorts. But because it goes to the central sorting facility first, you do need to allow for extra time for delivery to the resort.

Full balconies can also be on the 3rd floor

Pretty sure she said she shipped it USPS, so that could be why it was waiting for them at the front desk. And it was there when they arrived.

I had prescription sunglasses shipped to the yacht club via US priority mail. They were sent to the Convention Center.

Wow, it does seem very inconsistent. Maybe because it was US Priority Mail it was handled differently than general mail. I bet the Priority Mail is not delivered to the central sorting facility, and anything else delivered directly to the resort goes to the Convention Center
But that is just a guess.
When CM Teena was posting she always recommended USPS over other shipping methods since it did ultimately arrive at the front desk. But you do need to allow extra time for the sorting facility handling.

The BC is designed with both full balconies and standing balconies on every floor, except ground level. There isn't a single floor that has only full balconies or only standing balconies. They are all mixed up. :)

Showing the opening June17th but FP's still aren't available........ I guess DIS will be the best place to find out when it does go 'live'.

Found this on another DIS thread:

Okay - I just called Disney and spoke with someone in IT in regards to the app not showing FPs available. They said that the communication was sent in error and that the FPs would not be opening today, nor could she tell me when. They are working on the problem and I still feel like I need to stalk the site in case their corrective action is to make them available. Just to clarify she did not know what the corrective action would be.

I've been stalking Soarin FPs for our trip since midnight...

If you would like a full balcony I would submit that as my only request to stand a better chance of receiving it. First floor would not be considered full balcony. If you request a specific floor they may assign that instead of the balcony if it makes fitting the puzzle together easier for the assignor.

You stated this so perfectly. I was trying to figure out a short way to describe this

I am now a proud member of the purple magic band club. It is not for our BCV stay but I will get another purple one for that trip. So then I will have advanced status in the club since I will have multiple bands.

Love the purple band! I ordered one for my summer trip and I can't wait to get it in the mail. Only 58 more days. Have a great trip!

I decided to add the year to our MBs, too, so I know how old they are. :) And I'll be getting a purple band for our June trip. I don't even need another band but who can turn down purple. ;)

I'll double that! 44 til Florida and 48 til Disney omg it's getting so close!!!
It is 44 days until Disney for us, although we will be at POR this time.

I have a question about the Sandcastle Club. I thought I read somewhere that you can check it out during the day. But now I am only seeing night hours. Has anyone ever been there during the day? Or am I confusing it with something else?
Thanks!

Hi! We haven't stayed there yet- but have an upcoming stay at the Yacht club where we will be using the Sandcastle Club... in 8 days!! Yay! I was looking at the April activities guide and noticed that on page 2 it said that there is an open house daily from 4-4:30. We plan to attend one a few days before our reservation to check things out and see what the schedule of activities is! We are excited for our stay and our son is super excited about Sandcastle Club! I hope that helps! Amy
